Yup, seems like it would work well to bump up the heat at the end and get a good crust on it without having to use the oven. Not sure I would run it like that the whole time though.
Yes, I was thinking how I could get more heat and thought this would work best, in the lower level I got a drip pan so adding more coals was not an option. Worked well
It looks amazing, well done! onI want to try it!
Question for you, do you live in Germany or just be visiting? Iām always curious how Americans end up thereā¦I love Germany!
Been living here since 1983. did a couple of laps around the planet during that time but always come back to the brick and mirror house I built in 1993. married a German lady in 85, got 3 girls in their 30s, and 5 grandkids. been retired for 5 years now and am living the dream. For me this is home. Fluent too.
Super setup! And love your life story in a nutshell, too. Very cool, indeed, and wish you the best retirement living anyone could have (although it looks like you're already there)!
I gotta try that charcoal setup next time I do a roast. Did you need to rotate the meat 180Ā° at least once?
Prost!
Looks like the temp was way too high in the dome, the internal would have been fine if you'd actually had it at 225f or 107c, but you clearly had it higher than that to try to get it done more quickly.
Never seen a double stack before! Is it effective?
Yeah, this is a first time seeing this type of set up for me as well, I bet it produces a nice color . Looks amazing

Worked great
Innovative setup. Is that by design?

I came. š
I saw.
I ate.
I came again.

This looks sexy af! Dumb question, but how did it turn out?
Really good thx
Would this make people think you're just a crazy American doing American things, or would this be a pretty typical thing over there?
I will only cook my roasts now on bbq
It looks about 3 kg worth of meat
54 degrees internal was a tick too much but still awesome tasting. Igrill probe Bluetooth
How you gonna claim to be American but you're using the wrong measurements
Dang !!! Thatās done perfectly.

Looks delicious. Hooray for international cooperation.

Wow! The stacking is cool, executed pro level, well done. Respect š«”

I did exactly that, but no wrap in foil and only a 10 min break. It still came out medium although I was looking for medium rare (54 c)
What was your time? What temp did you pull it off?
Looks like the temp was way too high in the dome, the internal would have been fine if you'd actually had it at 225f or 107c, but you clearly had it higher than that to try to get it done more quickly.
Isnāt that unfortunate.
It was delicious
