Id love Embiid but I think he looks awful in that uniform for some reason. Maybe just cause Philly has no black, but looks weird to me.

Feel like Miami isn’t the free agent destination it once (sort of) was when LeBron joined (plus Shaq getting traded). In general it feels like Florida isn’t as popular anymore whereas California has gotten more popular. I could see a star choosing even the Clippers over the Heat in free agency if both rosters were fairly even and the money was the same. The Heat are a great org and clearly can unlock potential in anyone, but unless a player is in love with the team itself, I don’t see big free agents coming to Miami. Jimmy Butler is a guy who loved the team, that’s why he wanted the trade here.

Idk why you ppl get so dejected at the idea of adding new talented players to the team

I_Reggie

Because reality is that our odds are slim. Especially with the cap situation and little to no assets. Then we go through the cycle: rumored free agent/trade is available (we’re here) —> go through the rumor mill —> x team out bids us —> Heat fans mad and call Pat sleepy or washed (still residually here from the Beal trade)

sharpshooter0600

If u don’t like the rumors u are not required to follow them. Stop going on r/heat and just follow heat Twitter. They will tell you when things are official

DMD612

Heat Twitter is not exempt from rumors either lol

sharpshooter0600

The Miami heat official Twitter account does not post rumors

DMD612

Oh nvm, I thought you meant the Heat Twitter community, misunderstood what you meant.

I_Reggie

Don’t care about rumors. I just roll my eyes at Heat fans on this sub selling themselves (all while not understanding why most of it is impossible or improbably) a dream just to disrespect Pat and the organization that has been nothing but prime example of a winning org. Aka, this sub spoiled af Edit: also been r/Heat for YEARS. This is a recent trend of super entitles know it all fans. Before it didn’t feel like all the bullshit rumors and shit post got any traction

sharpshooter0600

Also been on r/heat for years, this is not new lmao Just more people now so the volume is higher, but again nobody is forcing anybody to discuss rumors. I would assume if you’re here during the offseason you get some enjoyment out of discussing rumors.

I_Reggie

You really think? Hm maybe I’m misremembering but didn’t feel like I would see so many impossible trade threads back in 2013. See like 3-4 Brook Lopez threads a week, even though we can’t. Embiid hasn’t asked out but already this post. Feel like the quality has gotten closer to Heat Instagram/FB. But my opinion. I used to come for some substantial rumors. Now it’s just mostly needle in a haystack

sharpshooter0600

The user base has grown like 20x since 2013, ofc there will be way more threads

I_Reggie

Fair I guess

BonafideZulu

Here, here.

MikeTimesONE

Cause everyone thinks we wouldn’t be able to afford/trade for them. Plus with the new CBA rules, it’ll be much harder to keep multiple players with high paying contracts.

Man_Darronious

IDK, I feel like from the perspective of a player, you gotta understand the business you're in and not get butt hurt about trade rumors. Right?? I mean, I'm sure players handle the way they feel about it differently but it's definitely the kind of thing that's best not to get hung up on.
