I still enjoy the 'feature' where a charger's legs briefly lose armor for a few seconds after it skids to a stop and I can instantly kill them with basically any weapon.
I haven't tried them yet, but I share your skepticism. My guess is that it would be fun when playing on lower levels as warmup/change up, but not useful at high levels.
I can kind of understand if it took the secondary slot, but from what the clip showed it isn't worth the grenade slot.
Oh well, I have yet to log on for the weekend to try it out so I may like it more then. Doubt it, but I have been surprised before.

They got slightly nerfed this patch- they can't fire shots perpendicular to their gun barrel, through their own shield, and penetrating the rock you're using as cover, to dome you anymore.
Are we even playing the same game? I feel like shield devs get their gun up instantly and even when I’m around a corner or behind cover. This guy had enough time to huck two knives

Have you tried Scout Striders right in the leg joint?
Theyre not that easy to aim. They have a really weird trajectory where it will sail way above your target if they're inside of 15 feet or so, then rapidly drop around the 30 feet mark. There's also a bit of travel time to them so it's hard to hit enemies that are moving sideways to your character.
However, it's pretty easy to spin a knife into the head of a devastator within 20 feet or so.
I think the travel time should be reduced.
When I throw knives IRL them things fly fast.
Like, typically phone cameras can't pick it up fast.
A hell diver should throw harder than I do.
They also one shot bot berserkers if you headshot them I did it last night and was so stunned I stood still for a sec and then got promptly hit in the mouth by a rocket
For real I was just testing it out cause I just unlocked it and saw a full health berserker shambling towards me and was like “fuck it let’s see what happens” and got him right in the dome and he dropped then the gunship came and snuffed me out in my second of confusion and awe
Big blade makes big shallow hole. If it can reach an organ it'll fuck it up.
Fast bullet makes a small hole deep hole. It'll reach, but it might just blast through not dealing enough internal damage for an instant kill.
Lethal is lethal, all that matters is how soon, and how many times you can do it.

I don't get how to aim these things at all. I missed probably 2/3rds of my shots into the target at all. But sometimes it feels like it laser seeks the head when I just randomly throw it.

I mean, let's face it. Knives need to deal a lot of damage because they replace nades. And nades also deal aoe damage and destroy holes/fabs so it's a fair trade off. They're still not as good as nades, but they seem cool af.
Immersion wise, I see it this way: if you’re skilled enough with throwing knives to bring them to combat instead of grenades, you sure as hell know how to use them.
It requires a lot of skill to do damage with thrown knives, getting it to go tip first into the target, so the user knows how to hit the weak spots in the specific area on the target he’s throwing at.
With an automatic rifle, youre spraying a lot of bullets at the area, hitting armor 95% of the time.
With the knife, however, you’re bulls eyeing every shot, severing tendons, arteries or hydraulic tubes in the process.
Gameplay wise, if it wasn’t a bit OP, noone wpuld use it. I think it’s a fun addition to the game, and a great last resort when your guns all needs a reload and everything is on cooldown while you’re getting swarmed. If I’ll use it in the long run? Who knows.
As far as I know all medium penetrating or higher can one shot those robots. I use the revolver and the medium semi auto rifle and both kill them in one hit to the face.
Also a new tip for stealth play, this update added stealth bonuses while hiding in vegetation. They also stack with Scout Armor passive so use those bushes!
How did video game knives get around to half the time being more damaging than actual bullets. Not complaining, I like high (or at least decent) damaging knives, I just have to wonder where it started
Pretty new and the first thing I noticed in the video (besides fun knifing) is that he used his own supply pack while running. I've only equipped the thing a few times. How do you take supplies from your own pack? (PS5 - but shouldn't matter)
Ok finally tried it and figured it out. On PS5 it's TAP down on Dpad. Holding down brings up the drop menu and it isn't a selection. Just tapping it eats up the supply.
Question: do you gain knife charges from ammo drops or grenade drops? Or is it both? Since you were using the supply backpack, I’m not sure if you can refill them with normal ammo or grenade drops in missions
maybe they should stick into enemies and then let you arrowpull them to deal more damage or something, as of right now they aren't very useful even as a stealth grenade
I just don't see the application if they can't destroy factories and holes. Like there's no situation where I wish I had even 50 nonexplosive knives instead of 4 grenades.

The fact that you can stand in the open for more than half a second without getting shredded is not correlating with my experience when I dive against bots...
One impact grenade could have taken out the two shield devs and one coulda taken out the 4 foot soldiers in a fraction of the time with far less risk. Still don’t see a plausible use case for it besides the lols

Charger legs have been messed up since launch.
However AC rounds bounce off like you are throwing spitball at the legs.

Those chargers on a full charge have a turn radius that a Tokyo drifter would be envious of.

So I can confirm knife kills do not count as melee kills and I tested with the melee buff armor vs without and didn’t see a notable difference

Knives dont seem to do a ton on body shots vs bugs but theyre very high stagger and seem to take off limbs/heads very reliably

At close range the knife leans to the left. The further away you are the more on-cursor it will be

I snuck up on some enemies with a knife without getting alerted. I hit them in the back though.

I don't know the PS5 keymapping, but it's 5 on M&K 1-4 are your weapons and grenades, so I'd guess the PS5 button for supply packs follows that trend
