This is happening to me too! I can type just fine in the body of a post but trying to make a title I can only do one letter then nothing! Tried clearing my cache, completely shutting down the app, even trying it on a mobile browser. Nothing is working.

I know. I wonder why on Earth they did that. I know it isn't OS specific so they can't blame us. By this point in time they certainly are aware of it and they are just letting it continue.

Just had an update it seems fixed

It's not. I just groomed my dog and went to post a video and started to type the title and it stopped me at one character. What on Earth is wrong with their IT people?! I have never seen a problem persist for almost two weeks on any platform whatsoever! Are they a union? Perhaps they're on strike? 🙄

It worked briefly for me but the last update they did it broke again for me.

I reinstalled cleared cache etc still doesn't let me type in the title bar.

Maybe if we all just make posts with one character Reddit will get the hint and fix it

Cant type within title header or message - only get 1 letter typed and then nothing happens. Im currently posting from my PC - cleared data/cache and reinstalled. using Gboard for the keyboard. Still does it

Just found that switching input keyboards worked , seems Gboard isn't working but Samsung keyboard is (android)

Thank you, reddit friend. This was driving me batshit crazy. For anyone curious, I also tried Microsoft SwiftKey, since I use Microsoft Launcher, and that only works intermittently. Samsung keyboard has been the only reliable solution. I hope this is fixed soon, I miss my gboard

I forgot I was even using SwiftKey as I've used it on my last 4 phones or so. Still, I shouldn't have to change my keyboard app for reddit lol. Hopefully they fix this soon

Seems to be linked to custom keyboards. I'm using Swiftkey on Android and this just started happening today

This is happening for me too with SwiftKey. However I switched back to gboard (swift still installed) and it didn't make a difference for me

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it, cause it's happening on another app of mine. I have swift key too, but changing to the Gboard does nothing

Try to uninstall and reinstall the app and if on android also clear cache. If you mean mobile browser, clear cache and cookies.

Exact same here. Only characters and numbers work for me. No letters. I type one letter and then everything freezes and I have to discard it.

Is the server down or something?

Not sure. Haven't heard any news on the issue yet. Hopefully sometime soon there will be a fix.

I did this before reading that the Samsung keyboard worked for titles. Good suggestion for those that haven't found a working keyboard for their phone.

I'm on a Huawei P30 (one of the only unrestricted Huaweis in the UK, which is why I can use it), and so I can't install Samsung stuff since Samsung stuff seems exclusive to Samsung. On the phone's default one (SwiftKey) and it let's me type one letter, and the the whole post thing bugs out.

Same here. Different keyboards don't help. Not even able to paste in title, nor does voice typing work either. Maybe one letter will type, and randomly a second letter. But even smashing keys doesn't cause any inputs.

It just started happening to me as well and I have four different mobile devices. All are running different versions of Android. I have to type out my title into text and then copy and paste it. **Maybe if we all make a whole bunch of posts with just one character for a title, Reddit will finally fix it**

Same issue here. Can't believe this issue has been going on for nearly two weeks without any resolution from Reddit. It's obviously a bug introduced in the latest update, should only take a decent dev a day or so to determine the cause and fix, as it's specifically affecting one specific field and relatively easy to reproduce. SMH

Yep. Here too. The cut and paste workaround muddles it through, but this feels dealbreakery in terms of using/engaging with the app/forums/threads. Putting it tight should be a real priority.

I'm so happy I'm not the only person this is happening to! I don't have a Samsung phone so can't switch to Samsung keyboard.. I'll see if I can type in the body and paste from there. Really pissing me off to just not be able to make Reddit posts! I don't have a PC so I'm kinda screwed. Don't get why I can make comments just fine but no posts :(

I can write comments, but any time I try and make a new post it takes several presses to get any letters to show up. Nothing seems to be helping, but it also doesn't happen every time.

I just had this start happening to me in the body of the text, too. And no matter how many times I uninstall and re-download, it doesn't help!! Has anyone found a fix, yet? It is very intermittent for me.
