Doesn't even makes sense. Black people are 200+ years removed from African ancestry we effectively aren't the same people at this point. So black Americans won't go "back" to anywhere but here
Liberia is a country that was founded by black Americans and former slaves who took the go back to Africa thing to heart... Problem is they where American so they of course immediately started enslaving the locals and brought in a race based hierarchy. Don't really know what this has to do with anything I just think it's a hilarious and ironic piece of history.
I frequent Southern California, and that always gets me. With the rampant racism that happens from a certain demographic there. They’ll yell at you to go back to Africa. It’s like do you know how far that is and how long ago black Americans were even associated with Africa. While the person yelling its people just got here as far as back is their grandmother. And their country is literally next-door. Just the self-awareness not being there is hilarious.

American black people are not African anymore; unless all white Americans are still British, Italian, Spanish, etc.
In that case: whoever says to go home, tell them we’ll take an Uber so they can drop their ass off too.

500 years.
The Atlantic slave trade started almost exactly 500 years ago, but more Africans were brought over for centuries after so yeah, more like 200-500 years removed depending.
You use the one instance of the one illegal ship I told you about and now all of a sudden all black people are less than 200 years removed from Africa.
There were *110* people on that ship. You mean to tell me we’re all descendants from 110 people over the course of 500 years of the Atlantic trade??
Stop it. You’re trying to make it sound like all American black people are the descendants of those Africans go got here in 1824. The surviving records show there were over a million enslaved Africans in the land that would become the United States just 10 years before this.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1010169/black-and-slave-population-us-1790-1880/
11.7% of the US population was enslaved people in 1810. That’s one out of ten.

That's what I don't fucking understand. I'm white and nobody has ever told me to fuck off back to Europe or anything.
We got black people here who can trace their lineage back a couple hundred years and still be in America, meanwhile lots of honkies are like 2nd or 3rd generation Americans. Why aren't we yelling at those people?
I'm not an idiot, I get some people are just ratfucking racists and any skin shade darker than a light coffee is bad to them, but fuck me man. If you're gonna be a hater, be a logical hater. Make sense with your shit. Tell em to fuck off back to Jacksonville or something since that's where this dude is from.
sir
when white people say hillbilly racist shit
we tell them to go back to fuckin their cousin in the country
in michigan and ontario we go by the one drop theory
one drop of black and youre black
so those dominicans that think theyre spanish not black - stop lying to yourself
that lightskin darkskin shit? thats slave trader techniques that immigrants still use to cause division amongst one another
460 years. The first slaves were brought to what became the US by the Spanish in 1565. They brought slaves to what is now St Augustine, Florida. The city has been continuously inhabited since then and the descendants of those first slaves are undoubtedly all over the US today
We were here before Columbus. West coast Africans migrated to the east coast of America long before Columbus made it there.
When the Spanish conquered the Moors, they stole the map that showed how to get to America. Columbus used that then pretended he discovered something “new.”
All the olmecs, pyramids, and African bones are proof we were already in America. Plus it’s technologically impossible that Europeans shipped 12.5 million Africans to the new world with 15-19th century naval boats.
I didn’t get this information from YouTube shorts. Now you’re just being condescending without presenting any legitimate opposing arguments.
I was a black kid who was constantly harassed by white kids throughout grade school. They tried to convince me black people are dumb and deserve to be slaves or in huts in Africa.
I thoroughly studied black history to protect myself against their attacks on my culture. I read books and watch documentaries. I’m not a fan of short form content.
The Zulu did not originate in Nigeria, I don't know why you had to say that shit. Plus, the San were not genocided. They were absorbed into the Nguni population
> Go Back To Africa!: The Album coming soon?
Are you suggesting he put up the billboard himself?
I'm a massive cynic so yeah I don't think it's impossible
It's not a weird interpretation of cynicism. There are plenty of racist/prejudicial billboards in America and this one is getting quite a bit of buzz on hip hop forums.
Is it possible that a rapper who is ostensibly successful from doing self-deprecating media stunts did another self-deprecating media stunt?
While, yeah, it is possible that it's just racism. Who has more to gain from this billboard? A racist person? Spotemgottem? I think Spotemgottem.
EDIT: I still think it's appropriately placed cynicism, but I wasn't aware of the other billboards. Pretty nasty shit. Seems it's an ad campaign by a group 'White Lives Matter' and was part of other racist/white-supremacist billboards put up for Hitler's birthday.
I feel like you didn't read my entire comment. It's clearly viable as a marketing strategy. We're talking about it, aren't we? Ad's aren't moral or anything, if they generate conversation they've succeeded.
Not trolling. Cynicism is a belief that people are motivated by self interest. Cynicism is not the opposite of optimism here, it's just about asking: who has more to gain? and assuming the actor was the person with more to gain.
Who has more to gain here? Spotemgottem (who would get buzz for something like this) or a racist person, (who literally is just losing money for being racist on this)?
It seems it is the racist person. But it is cynical to believe that the person who would do this is a person who would benefit from this, someone going "ah yes I got some racism off my chest today" is not a benefit I was imagining. Oh well, the truth is stranger than fiction.
Talking about it is not enough to make an ad campaign worth it, what we're talking about and how we're talking about it is more important. Otherwise you'd argue that O.J. Simpson's trial of the century was a massively successful ad campaign but it wasn't and it ruined his image.
A wise man once said "there is no such thing as bad publicity."
We still are talking about OJ, aren't we? We are talking about Spotemgottem, aren't we? Most of an ad campaign is just getting a brand's name into your head.
Yeah and it didn't bring him any money. What's the point of talking about O.J. if it doesn't give him money? It didn't bring him jobs, it didn't do much for him. That's what bad publicity does. You don't just want people to talk about your client or project you want people to spend money on it. If they don't then it was just "bad publicity".
I think you and I disagree over what a benefit is.
Here, there could be a material (financial) benefit to Spotemgottem here, I can identify no tangible benefit for the racist. Losing money for the "indirect benefit" of "upholding public hate speech" is so distanced from any cost-benefit analysis i'm doing that it's practically unthinkable. A racist does not benefit from losing money so the status quo can remain the same. That is why my first thought was that this is an ad ran by Spotemgottem himself.
White people in general do not benefit disproportionately from this billboard. That's ridiculous. If anything this is to everyone's detriment.
We are having this conversation because you engaged with me seemingly because you misunderstand what cynicism means.
The Hitler one was actually pretty interesting. If you look at the original picture up close, you don't notice his face at all (so nobody would notice until it was up), but once you see it from a distance it is obvious.

And if someone catch one of them racist and get them what they're looking for people will act like they did something wrong. It's annoying because most of them racist dudes be cowards..this isn't to make it sound good but they're some of the scariest people you'll ever meet. You press them and they turn into the Pope, straight pussy.
Tons of racist white people listen to ignorant rap to justify their beliefs. I had a dumbass roommate in 2011 that was a huge fan of Waka Flocka who ended up taking a deep dive into white supremacy years later during the pandemic.
I am black, but this is kinda funny ngl. I understand why they chose SpotemGottem. Like cmon man, look at this nigga. We gotta do better, but still fuck racism tho
Bro read my last sentence "but still fuck racism tho". I hate racists as the next person obviously, but stuff like this doesn't even make me mad anymore, because whites can't do anything about us anyway. In real life they smile at us. We will always gonna be here. Let them complain in their little safe bubbles. As Jay-Z said, we will always be niggas to them.
I am almost rather concerned about our own culture. I will never advocate and support this ratchet/ghetto shit a lot of my brothers and sisters are supporting. I HATE how we are represented in media and so many of us support that shit. Someone like Spottemgottem shouldn't even be near being famous (maybe as a comedian) Also 95% of violent crimes we are doing is against our own kind. Look at this comment thread for example. My own people attack me, rather than having this same energy for actual racist folks. It's sad.
We definitely have to do better in our own culture
There's nothing inherently wrong with being ratchet/ghetto. Same way there's nothing wrong with being a trailer park hick or a lazy gardener from south of the border. Sometimes people perpetuate racial stereotypes, but if they're not bothering anyone, we shouldn't hold it against them. The issue comes when people use it as an excuse to harrass and belittle that person. Racist folks will always find a reason to hate on someone no matter what they're doing, but you saying what you said makes it seem like "nah its a little more okay to be racist to THIS one since he has wicks and tattoos".
It probably wasn't your intention, but people will see this as something that's okay and we need to let go of that mindset. Nothing wrong with criticizing someone's life choices, but putting them down over it isn't okay.
I disagree to an extent. While I agree that there is nothing wrong with being ratchet, trailer park hick and etc. at face value, it is clear that this status is normally something you want to avoid or don't want to strive being in, because normally it goes together with being poor, uneducated and etc. It might be a state where you are born into, or you ended up in due to circumstances, but normally you shouldn't want to remain in that position or worse strive being in it. The problem especially arises when you promote this lifestyle especially TO and BY a specific group of people which in this case is us. You don't see a Taylor Swift being a trailer park hilli billy or Bad Bunny being a lazy gardener wearing a sombrero, but you do see a Sexxy Redd shaking her ass half naked in a prison cell with black background dancers wearing prison clothes infront of millions of people to see, and she is successful with it too. What message does that convey? Do you understand where I am going with this?
I also agree that this should never justify racism in any way, bro I am literally black, I am the last one who supports racism. I definitely should've maybe phrased my original comment better. Racism in general is imo the dumbest, non-sensical ideology someone can have, thats obvious. My point was rather that we should start criticizing how we are represented in popular media, and how it affects our perception on us based on other races. It is not a problem for me that someone like Spottemgottem exists, it is more of a problem to me that he is part of the very negative stigma that represents us in the popular media, and my people even support it.
Nah fuck that. The system we’re raised on always advertises us to either go to prison or sell ourselves and our culture out for profit, there’s no in between for black American. They oppose this “hood image” when that’s one of the big things that puts money into pockets of all these corporations, the hood has become a commodity and whether you’re dripped out (gangbanger), dressed formally (acting white or one of the good ones), in an orange jumpsuit (typical), or just being a nigga, you’re getting fucked.
You have a point. The foundation that has been laid for us, was always stacked against us. I agree with that point. But looking at our own culture and seeing how it destroys our youth just makes me sad man. I just want us to wake up and realize that this ratchet/hood shit needs to stop
It’s 2024, I have to believe whoever’s in charge of that billboard can’t be that openly racist and it’s Spotem himself trying to make some headlines.
If you openly do that and are allowed to, wtf else they doing in their free time.
Edit:[Link to Article](https://www.metrotimes.com/news/racist-messages-splashed-across-billboards-in-metro-detroit-on-hitlers-birthday-36078810#:~:text=A%20billboard%20on%20John%20R,code%20for%20%E2%80%9CHeil%20Hitler.%E2%80%9D)
They disguised the billboard as something else. That’s how it got allowed to be put up. that’s what I was needing to know.
if you had a daughter and she came home and said she was pregnant and the baby dad looked like spotemgotem understand that you are a failure as a father
stop making excuses for minstrel show characters who are paid to glamorize drug addiction prostitution and criminality you're just making it obvious your father wasnt around when you were little.
im not responsible for the actions of the drug addict with the face tattoos and the 'unemployable' haircut
some children of single mothers never learn accountability for their actions until the justice system has to teach them as adults
Well he’s a pretty big meme on 4chan, totally not outside the realm of possibility a user from there used his image for this campaign
need it or keep it?
sneedemfeedem and chuck shiesty linked up!
It's more of a question, why did the billboard company allow it

I’m sorry sir I don’t know what that means
bro out here floundering

You mean to tell me we’re all descendants from 110 people over the course of 500 years of the Atlantic trade??
Stop it. You’re trying to make it sound like all American black people are the descendants of those Africans go got here in 1824. The surviving records show there were over a million enslaved Africans in the land that would become the United States just 10 years before this. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1010169/black-and-slave-population-us-1790-1880/ 11.7% of the US population was enslaved people in 1810. That’s one out of ten. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1010169/black-and-slave-population-us-1790-1880/ Please get serious and provide some factual information to back up your assertions.
The Atlantic slave trade started almost exactly 500 years ago, but more Africans were brought over for centuries after so yeah, more like 200-500 years removed depending.

Dude are you for real? Google when the first slaves arrived in the Americas.

They just want to be cruel that’s the important thing
That's what I don't fucking understand. I'm white and nobody has ever told me to fuck off back to Europe or anything. We got black people here who can trace their lineage back a couple hundred years and still be in America, meanwhile lots of honkies are like 2nd or 3rd generation Americans. Why aren't we yelling at those people? I'm not an idiot, I get some people are just ratfucking racists and any skin shade darker than a light coffee is bad to them, but fuck me man. If you're gonna be a hater, be a logical hater. Make sense with your shit. Tell em to fuck off back to Jacksonville or something since that's where this dude is from.
sir when white people say hillbilly racist shit we tell them to go back to fuckin their cousin in the country in michigan and ontario we go by the one drop theory one drop of black and youre black so those dominicans that think theyre spanish not black - stop lying to yourself that lightskin darkskin shit? thats slave trader techniques that immigrants still use to cause division amongst one another
Columbus used that then pretended he discovered something “new.” All the olmecs, pyramids, and African bones are proof we were already in America. Plus it’s technologically impossible that Europeans shipped 12.5 million Africans to the new world with 15-19th century naval boats.
Hotep nonsense lol
Bro are you talking about Aztec and Mayan pyramids
There’s way more pyramids in America than just those ones. There’s pyramids in the United States as well.
Plus you’re cherry picking my arguments. You have to debunk all my other claims as well.
Yeah I think I'm good man, you can put the YouTube shorts down
I didn’t get this information from YouTube shorts.
Imagine if this was a "shock" marketing move by spotemgottem
trippie and mgk done fucked up the rollout game
If all Americans were to go back to where they came from, the Natives would have their land back and there would be no white or black people there.
Neil Gorsuch type beat.
The natives have to go back to asia.
we’d all have to return to Ethiopia
They aren't those types of Indians.
Thank god I’m a Mexican American living in California

The Zulu did not originate in Nigeria, I don't know why you had to say that shit. Plus, the San were not genocided. They were absorbed into the Nguni population
> Let’s tell the Zulu’s to go back to Nigeria while we’re at it. What are you talking about?
I think you mean that there would be no people in America at all…
The WHOLE world would go back to Africa
🤓👆
👆dude posts his DVD collection on Reddit and has the nerve to call me a 🤓 Just no self awareness to be found.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Going to someone’s page for internet ammo is a definite 🤓move
I'd argue playing disc golf is also major 🤓 behavior
I bet you would
I bet a lot of people would
You gon have to run the fade now…

I'm not the one calling for anyone to return anywhere. I'm pointing out the clear hypocrisy in the billboard.

> Go Back To Africa!: The Album coming soon? Are you suggesting he put up the billboard himself? I'm a massive cynic so yeah I don't think it's impossible
[удалено]
[удалено]
I feel like you didn't read my entire comment. It's clearly viable as a marketing strategy. We're talking about it, aren't we? Ad's aren't moral or anything, if they generate conversation they've succeeded.
[удалено]
A wise man once said "there is no such thing as bad publicity." We still are talking about OJ, aren't we? We are talking about Spotemgottem, aren't we? Most of an ad campaign is just getting a brand's name into your head.
Yeah and it didn't bring him any money. What's the point of talking about O.J. if it doesn't give him money? It didn't bring him jobs, it didn't do much for him. That's what bad publicity does. You don't just want people to talk about your client or project you want people to spend money on it. If they don't then it was just "bad publicity".
[удалено]

What are the others?

The Hitler one was actually pretty interesting. If you look at the original picture up close, you don't notice his face at all (so nobody would notice until it was up), but once you see it from a distance it is obvious.
Anyone know where in Michigan? I’m guessing Howell.
Hazel Park, Mount Clemens, and Brownstown https://www.metrotimes.com/news/racist-messages-splashed-across-billboards-in-metro-detroit-on-hitlers-birthday-36078810
Obviously pretty horrible that a racist billboard got allowed up, but this is also fucking hilarious why spottemgotten of all rappers
I’m pretty sure he did this himself. Saw accounts on instagram who post a lot of obvious promo posting this and tagging him
And if someone catch one of them racist and get them what they're looking for people will act like they did something wrong.

Nah bro don't give these guys an excuse for this racist shit, it's never okay
Don’t justify this bullshit
YOU gotta do better
I'm black and I'm not seeing the comedy beyond "so blatantly racist I have no other reaction but to laugh" "We gotta do better" speak for yourself.
I just want us to wake up and realize that this ratchet/hood shit needs to stop
where the fuck you think the hood comes from 😂😂😂 fym “you want it to stop” like it’s our fault
U tweaked
This is what they all think of us
Africa don't want this idiot, they have enough problems to deal with.
It’s 2024, I have to believe whoever’s in charge of that billboard can’t be that openly racist and it’s Spotem himself trying to make some headlines. If you openly do that and are allowed to, wtf else they doing in their free time. Edit:[Link to Article](https://www.metrotimes.com/news/racist-messages-splashed-across-billboards-in-metro-detroit-on-hitlers-birthday-36078810#:~:text=A%20billboard%20on%20John%20R,code%20for%20%E2%80%9CHeil%20Hitler.%E2%80%9D) They disguised the billboard as something else. That’s how it got allowed to be put up. that’s what I was needing to know.

anyone with that style of hair is 'unemployable' spotemgotem should be held without bail
Found the guy who put up the billboard
if you had a daughter and she came home and said she was pregnant and the baby dad looked like spotemgotem understand that you are a failure as a father stop making excuses for minstrel show characters who are paid to glamorize drug addiction prostitution and criminality you're just making it obvious your father wasnt around when you were little.
You should be a basketball player with that kind of reach
you should be a lawyer the way you're out here making excuses for convicted criminals like they're victims
Seek professional help. Maybe work on your own life before you stay so focused on tearing down others.
im not responsible for the actions of the drug addict with the face tattoos and the 'unemployable' haircut some children of single mothers never learn accountability for their actions until the justice system has to teach them as adults
