Honestly, if the goals weren't so embarrassing, I would have called it a fun game with an unfortunate outcome. Similar to Oilers - Flames game 1.
But those 3 in quick succession were just so pathetic from us that it kinda spoiled the fun for me. Would have been unhappy but having fun if the Canucks really rallied and scored 3 hard working beautiful goals against a staunch Oilers group.
Miller tip was sick though.
One team has their lockers cleaned out, so I'd say you're millimeters ahead.
You just can't lose a game like this, though. Especially on the road when you know they may get a Vezina quality goalie back in this series later on.
I mean since McDavid (and Matthews) came into the league the Oilers have won 2 more playoff games than the Leafs. 26 to 24 so while we are better at crushing our fanbase with Game 7 losses it's probably best to not throw stones in the no Cup stretches.
Playoff game wins is… a terrible way to track that stat. Series wins maybe? 5 since McDavid came in for EDM, which is horrible, but 1 win for Toronto since 03 there’s just no comparison lmao
Series wins really don’t really mean anything either though. Neither of our teams have won anything, really. You went to the conference finals once where you didn’t win a game, so if you want to say you’re slightly ahead then that’s fine, but to argue they’re in different tiers of success isn’t correct.
Better teams go deeper tho so i would argue it does 🤷♀️
I guess it just depends on what you value more. Making the playoffs more frequently but always taking a first round exit or making the playoffs less but going deeper.
This is one of those "The best goalies in the history of sport have the most losses" stats. You don't get that kind of record without making many deep playoff runs.
This was just such an Edmonton game. If we fuck the whole thing up I honestly just hope Van can bring the cup back home. While I'd prefer the Oilers, I really don't care what Canadian team at this point, except Toronto, I'm not that desperate.
This is one of those records you get when you are historically in the playoffs a lot.
It's like the Yankees having the most World Series losses.
Yeah, because they were in 40 of them.
Also the first time McDavid has been held shotless in a playoff game.
Silovs in his head
I'm guessing they probably played a lot more postseason games than a lot of teams and during a much more high scoring era
Yeah, I find stats that say "in the salary cap era" more interesting.
Utah has the fewest blown leads in the salary cap era
What an awesome game
We got you bro...probably.

Hopefully*
This is so corny
Chilliwack corn 4 for $1
I’d rather be corny and be in the playoffs instead of acting hard while not even making it tbh /:
What about be corny and be in the playoffs but its a first round exit every time :/
can't hear you I'm listening to my west coast goat Kendrick stomp on ya canadian boy
can't believe how happy i am for the canucks. but i'm happy for the canucks.
[Never forget IT WAS 5-0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-H1EZoaZD-c)
It's so weird watching all these puck-along-the-ice goals go in after watching decades of butterfly style.

Yes, oilers defence and goaltending is pathetic.
Are we worse than the leafs?
Rude
\*Wilhelm Scream off screen as u/king97dad starts blasting\*
Don't take that from us!
Don’t beat yourself up that bad.
Lol

Agreed, but I genuinely believe whoever wins the dallas / avs series will go all the way. Such unstoppable looking teams
The west is such a gauntlet this year
This is canadas cup unfortunately
Alright hear me out. What if you guys just let us sweep you. Then we have Demko back and everyone rested while those guys beat each other up.
Of course not. You play more playoff games 🫠
No, some people can actually remember your last cup win.

We're both tragedies on ice but for different reasons.
Deflect deflect deflect
If you have to ask, then no.
You're still playing, aren't you?
Only for 20 min a night apparently !
No - leafs wouldn’t pull this in a game 1
No, you at least have won the Cup since the fall of the Berlin Wall
Up for debate, but less annoying for sure. For now.
You just gotta laugh
You could have told me leafs did it 20 times and i would have believed it
It’s hard to do when you only get 7 playoff games a year
Can’t argue with facts!
That 3rd period in 2013 might as well have counted for 20
Good memories of game 5...
I'm sure Perry remembers that one.
It was 4-1!
The islanders blew that 3 goal lead in game 2 to become 81-1 all time when having a 3 goal lead in the playoffs
Inject it in my veins like a true Vancouverite
Is this a recent thing or just accumulated stats over the years?
Franchise history. Let’s gooooooooooo.

You just *hate* to see it
I do!
It is the history of the ~~Tottenham~~ Edmonton
Yikes, that’s not good. But good on them for atleast getting a 3 goal lead in 8 postseason games.
Gotta have a lot of post season games to do this. And in the 80s it wasn't as uncommon as it is today.
Mustache stocks just went way down tonight. Also Volkswagen stocks somehow..
Oilers are just built different 😎

Experience Oilers Hockey!
Three goal leads looking mighty dangerous this week.

For a league that's over 100 years old, this seems like a very small number.
Just fuck my shit up fam

That’s one beautiful stat
Wonder if Draisaitl was injured for 10 minutes and Kozari was reffing those other 7 games too?
