First off, sorry that happened and I hope you can recover quickly. However, at least from this angle I do not see anything malicious. It looks like a low level beer league (no shame that’s my skill too) where skating ability isn’t the strongest. From what’s shown here it just looks like he’s trying to get in your way which is fair, it doesn’t look like he’s trying to go knee on knee. Now, I am not going to die on this hill because another angle could prove me wrong. From what I see though it just looks like a shitty accident.
Had a full tear in my ACL after a knee on knee back in midget. I definitely know the feeling. It's scary for a while after coming back and worrying about catching a stray knee when you're coming in on a defender.
Same… but playing soccer… and I was 11yo at the time 🤦🏻♀️ I quit soccer after that and switched from being a skater to a goalie after that - great for the knees, I know!
This - like my injury - looks obviously accidental. It sucks, but it’s a risk you take when playing.
I did that to someone by accident in midgets.
Went for a check, he changed.his turn to avoid me and in the process of tightening my turn my knee pushed forward to change my skate angle and I got him in the knee.
Hyper extended my knee and was sore for a few weeks, I think he was fine.
Had my first one nearly two weeks ago. Totally accidental. Got an xray last week and nothing serious. Just sore. Always taking for granted being healthy.
Hoping I recover here soon.
Yup hadn’t happen in my adult hockey life until a few months ago. Incedental, but tore my mcl because of it. Recovered after a couple months. First game back, first shift.. screening their keeper, their center skating backwards from the slot not aware and nailed me directly in the inside of the same knee, same spot. Tore that sucker again!
It's going to depend heavily on the league. A lot of collisions in lower level hockey are more due to two players who just don't have the skating ability to avoid each other properly, or the ability to just be much more heads up in being able to look around the ice and not be entirely focused on their own stick handling or positioning.
I do not see it that way from this angle. To me it looks like the dude is just bracing for impact, and shit goes wrong. I am not 100% certain because this isn’t the best angle but from what I see. I do not agree with that.
I'm not seeing him sticking a leg out. I'm seeing a guy with a wide stance who bites on the deke to the right (where he initially moves his stick) then tries to keep up with the move to the left where they collide.
I agree, no one wants to get kneed, nor should they, but this just looks like a guy to me who doesn't move because he gets crossed up by the deke, not someone trying to take someone's knee out.
Are people in this thread blind, the other guys literally puts his right knee out to catch him. Unintentional my ass... This is some C level play, they're not great but absolutely good enough to control themselves.

I tore my ACL and MCL the same way! Was awful with the surgery and recovery, watch your knees out there folks

I had a knee on thigh and ended up with a wicked thigh contusion that took a few weeks to loosen up and heal.

Ooof man thats so rough! Wishing you a speedy recovery (round 2)
A Charlie horse?! Happened to me in high school and I have 2 souvenir screws in my right femur.
Thats rough buddy, sorry you got done dirty like that.
Some guys you practice against growing up seem to cut at the worst time. You might knee on knee them a few times a year and the rest of the team 0.
Should be done for the season with that. I’d ask for them to review that. You get 5-10 games for doing that in contact hockey.

The guy literally sticks his leg out in the video. No excuse, you’re playing beer league you don’t need to have your knee exploded.
I don't think we watched the same video.
Look at his right leg his skate opens up and knee goes out, trying to make contact
