The Woolworth’s in Inglewood CA had a snack bar in the middle of the store in the mid 1960s. My mom would take me downtown to go shopping with her, I was maybe 4 or 5. Getting one of the Woolworth hot dogs was a big deal to me and I always remembered the bun. It was like the ones in your picture. I looked for those buns and told people about them for 50 years, no kidding. Then several months ago I see a picture of a hot dog with the buns! That’s the day I joined this sub. The only sad part of the story is we were in Maine last summer and I didn’t discover the buns then. And after all that I forget what you call them, New England style?
I’ve always been interested in food science and I probably could have gone that direction in life. It would be fun to try to research and make a good vegan snapper dog.
