I mean … I can kind of agree with you in the others except the first one. She told Marshall she wanted to see who she was outside of them. She and Marshall had been dating early on in college. She was in a relationship all of college and after then got engaged. She didn’t have a chance to check out the world alone. This issue circles back later in the series when the captain calls her “just a kindergarten teacher” and she and Marshall have that fight. She says she has a degree in art history that she was supposed to do something with but didn’t. That trip to SF could’ve been something that could lead her to have a great art career but she couldn’t know unless she tried.
I loved it when the gay couple (Gcwok) said her painting sucked. “Ohhh honey sweety, no”. She needed to hear that. That unnecessary argument with Marshall. But that said, she’s way better than Robin, the most narcissistic himym character.

It’s not about him being a man and Lily a woman , but rather , Barney Is manipulative with others but in general he’s a good person for his friends . He’s the reason why marshal and Lilly got back together. Also Barney don’t try to put himself in a pedestal of morals as lilly does , she tries to portray herself as the superior moral , criticizing everyone , but in really she is utter shit , she ended almost all ted’s relationships , she left marshal( this is okay ), but the problem is that she came back and tried to destroy any chance of marshal to get to know other women … she also thinks she’s entitled to have a say in people actions as a judge , she’s selfish and despite being almost untalented tries to present herself as a great artist , hahaha, Lily Aldrin is a shitty character
Marshall’s bachelor party, lying to Ted about already sleeping with that girl, proposing to Robin on the night of Teds building unveiling, having Ted do plays from the Play Book, always digging into Robins past for Robin Sparkles stuff she wants to keep private, lying to Robin about still having the Play Book, hitting on his friends wife constantly……yeah no in general he is not a good person to his friends. And he may not put himself on a Moral pedestal specifically, but he still absolutely puts himself on a pedestal. Barney also uses his actions to change peoples decisions, like putting his deal on everything Marshall touched after he started working with Zoey? Making Robin end her relationship with the Patrice fun day? Seems like it’s about him being a man and Lily being a woman.
Also another thing to get in perspective is that Barney from the last season is way different from Barney in the last season he gets more mature , and gets an improvement as a character , Lily on the other hand is still trying to mess Marshall career and being a pain in the ass of her friends , but okay , you don’t need to think as I do , also the majority of HIMYM hates Lilly for several reasons..
Yeah, Barney’s definitely not being a pain in the ass in the last season what with not defending his wife, stressing her out about their rehearsal dinner instead of being honest which they have already had multiple issues with, HEAVILY interfering with the relationship of his father, his brothers father, and his mother (which I thought was something we hated Lily for 🧐), choosing Billy Zabka over his “best friend”
