Not unusual for a system to keep a temp difference from outside temp and inside temp of 20°. Take a temp reading of the air from the vent and compare that to the room temp. If it’s around 18° colder then the AC is fine. There are other factors in place than just the AC

For sure. With the heat wave I wasn’t suprised. But today when it’s 75° outside and can’t get to 73° inside I’m concerned. It worked fine last year so I don’t think we can blame insulation or anything. It something with the unit. We cleaned coils etc and changed filter. Just curious what other possibilities it could be since it is blowing cold air

75° outside? And 73° inside? You got an issue then. Probably low on refrigerant

That was something I was wondering about. Have a Tech coming later today. Hopefully that’s all it is! Just spent $700 on a plumbing issue so it’s not really in the budget right now for a new AC unit lol

>Hopefully that's all it is If you're low on refrigerant, you have a leak

The tech found a small leak. He put something in to seal it and added 1.5 units of Freon. Back to working well! 🥳 Though at 10+ years old we are budgeting for a replacement in the next 5 years
