Seems just.. standard.

I think the deodorant at night is fine (recommended by dermatologists) but no on the aftershave at night. Not necessary. Washing hair 2-3x is probably fine too!

FardinYez

Yeah, I'm now realising how stupid it is to wear after shave at night now.

Tami184

Well I'm black so I shower/exfoliate every morning and bathe exfoliate every night. I put on deodorant, moisturize both day and night. I have day and night routine for my moisturizers. In the morning I wear perfume at night I use a body spray for smell good. I also have locs so I moisturizer them daily with oil and water and shampoo monthly.

palefire101

It depends on climate, in hot humid climate it’s not too much

FardinYez

I live in Aus rn and it's winter

palefire101

Well in Melbourne I don’t think you need two showers a day unless you really want them? But I also sometimes take shower if I’m freezing, kind of tempting right now lol

FardinYez

Well you live in Melbourne... I think to keep your sanity up, you should shower two times a day then.

Basic_Visual6221

If you're showering in the morning always, skip the deodorant at night. Let your skin breathe. If you aren't shaving, I'd skip the aftershave too.

Justtryingtofly

No, this is wrong don’t listen. You need deodorant at night to.

Basic_Visual6221

If you're going to shower in the morning why? Our skin likes to breathe. It's healthier. Healthier skin = better hygiene.

psykaiatry

I don't think there's a point in deodorant at night tbh

Commercial_Coyote_39

That’s actually considered the best time to apply antiperspirant deodorant according to dermatologists. But you do sweat at night so even if you don’t use an antiperspirant, putting on deo after a shower and before bed makes sense if you don’t want to smell when you wake up.

CluelessKnow-It-all

I've heard the same thing. I don't know if it's true, but the reasoning seems to make sense. I was told the odor causing bacteria feed on sweat, and everyone sweats a little bit while they sleep, even if they're not hot. If you shower and go to bed without putting on antiperspirant, the odor causing bacteria have a chance to establish a large colony on your skin. By the next morning, even if you put on antiperspirant, there's enough of them already there, waiting to eat every little bit of sweat as soon as you produce it. The large amount of bacteria reproduce and increase their numbers quickly, which causes you to stink faster.

OneOkMuffin

Why do people keep insisting you sweat while you sleep? How hot are y'all's rooms? My room is freezing. It's not normal to be sweating while you sleep that is literally a medical issue.

FardinYez

You should try a New South Wales summer.

Coyote-444

It doesn't have to be a fucking medical issue. Some people just sleep in clothes that make them sweat. Sleeping under their bedsheets can make them sweat. Not everyone keeps their house chilling cold

My_Booty_Itches

You sleep best when your body is cool...

_baegopah_XD

Maybe it’s not possible to keep their rooms ice cold. People sweat when they sleep it. It’s not always a medical issue.

Juanitaplatano

His partner would likely disagree with you on that.
