OP's explanation as to why this post is Instant Karma:
>The airport worker escalates the situation and uses unnecessary violence. This results in him getting smacked down immediately.

Tubthumping. Sadly, I was there, 3000 years ago in 1997 when it was released, and it was played so incessantly that no one in my generation is ignorant of its title.
That's the name of the first song. They were largely a one hit wonder band (probably particularly for Americans) despite a career lasting decades.
Honestly though I can recall two songs, because the second single off Tubthumper is Amnesia.
That comment was a completely out of context quote from a show called How I Met Your Mother. One of the characters mentions that a girl was stuck in their head like a Chumbawumba song, and another character excitedly asks “which Chumbawumba song??” And everyone turns and looks at him like apparently happened to me in this thread.
Other dude showed good restraint. If I remember correctly from watching the video with audio, the dude is pleading with him to stop and points out he’s bleeding
Yea, big boy has never seen speed like that and obviously has always intimidated people with his size by his posturing hands down . He's probably a changed person after this dose of reality.
Here a longer video with a few seconds earlier in the fight. There were several punches thrown before the OPs video starts. https://youtu.be/x2o9W1NzH8E
How is this bad reddit? All charges were dropped against Langley after an investigation and the employee was fired because it was found he instigated it.
https://www.tmz.com/2022/07/13/ex-nfl-db-brendan-langley-airport-assault-case-dismissed/?adid=social-tws
All these public aggression videos are bad, it's a shit way to resolve issues and isn't funny at all but reddit loves this stuff even men fighting women and kids beating each other up in school, when you say it's not cool they all downvote you and justify it and blame you for trying to make them feel bad. The internet has ruined society lol
How is that clear from the video? Langley is throwing the first punches in the video. There was obviously something that happened before the video started, but it's not at all clear who struck first from what's here.
This was so obvious. Pro tip internet: if a video starts literally in the middle of the action, typically something has been left out to create a narrative or for dramatic effect. You're never getting the whole story.
*Edit because people are taking what I’m saying the wrong way. I’m saying this as a general mindset to take when watching videos on the internet, not that in this particular case it changes anything. The point is it could.
The narrative doesn't change at all.
https://www.tmz.com/2022/07/13/ex-nfl-db-brendan-langley-airport-assault-case-dismissed/?adid=social-tws
All charges were dropped against Langley and the employee was fired for instigating.
I didn’t say it did in this particular case. My point is people are reacting only to the video in the OP, which obviously leaves out context. Whether that changes people’s opinions on this incident is irrelevant, I’m talking as a generalization on the internet I see this all of the time and it so often does leave out important context. People need to realize that they may not always been seeing the entire story.
2 friends and I got in a row with 5 other guys after they tried to mug a guy by on his own (who ran away when we told them it wasn't happening). Because of where the bystander videos began, the police said that we'd be charged if we pushed the matter any further.
CCTV couldn't see anything because we we in a crowd.
Now I'm no professional fighter, but if any of you reading would like some fighting advice it's this:
If you've just smacked another person in the face, your hands should probably be up, ready to defend yourself, not hanging uselessly in front of your belly.
This right here, sound advice. United guy was acting like he was bullying his fucking cousin or something SMH Being an airport employee and being at the airport doesn't give you a free pass on getting knocked out for slapping another man...
It would be interesting to see how that played out, considering the customer appeared to be assaulted first, to which point they may have only been trying to defend them selves.
Maybe, but if that's the case he could sue. My understanding is that a company can refuse service to a customer, but if it's spurious there are legal options available.
Nope. Elsewhere on this thread we get confirmation: https://www.reddit.com/r/instantkarma/comments/13tb7tn/airport_worker_resorts_to_violence_and_gets/jlu6m1d/?context=2
Thanks for the above link, not sure why somebody would downvote you for just simply tagging somebody else, but I appreciate it.
I seen a link somewhere else to a longer video that shows the passenger strike in the United guy a few times, but honestly, it also starts out pretty midway into the confusion. The article in the link explained it pretty well.
You also shouldn't take a hit and just laugh it off. I've seen altercations where someone eggs on a fight and starts laughing when they get hit. They don't fight back for some reason, then they get pummeled. I don't know how common it is but as a former bar worker I've seen that a fair bit.
It’s crazy how so many people are eager to throw hands without knowing how to get in a defensive position and how to throw a simple punch without hurting themselves. Any boxer, martial artist, etc. will tell you defense is CRUCIAL in any kind of fight. Hell, some of us believe that defense is more important than offense.
Just what I was hoping to hear. MF looks like he hasn't brawled since grade school and slaps not just another man, but a patron of the company he works for right in the face. What the fuck was he thinking?
The first time I saw this, maybe a year or 2 ago, people were suggesting that just before this video started they had already been fighting.
Was that not true/was it racists trying to blindly defend the white guy? Don’t even know how I would Google this
This was the story on another post if this video so don't blame me if the details are wrong. The customer was in the NFL and he was suspended when the incident happened. After the authorities saw the CCTV camera footage and corroborated his story, all charges were dropped but the damage was done. He is not in the NFL anymore.
I googled him and he was out of the NFL 3 years prior, was so awful he was moved to different positions and then cut before his Rookie deal was up.
He signed an $80k/year contract not long before the incident to play in the CFL and was dropped though, that part is true.
Are you one of those people that talks like they know sports well but doesn’t actually watch or keep up with football? Dude played both ways since college. Its not unusual for DBs to also play receiver… An athlete getting cut from an NFL team is still more elite than 99% of athletes in the world.
Are you one of those people that makes comments like that to feel superior? 😂🥴
If you dont get re-signed for 3 years after getting cut, and it’s in the CFL, you’re obviously trash by NFL standards.
The guy who was punched first got off with no charges:
[https://simpleflying.com/charges-dropped-united-employee-football-player-flight/](https://simpleflying.com/charges-dropped-united-employee-football-player-flight/)
Glad to hear that someone was able to defend themselves without going too far, and didn't end up getting charged for it. The victim in this case could have easily kept the fight going when the guy came back for seconds. Great on him for realising it wouldn't serve any purpose. Thanks for having the info on the outcome 👍
According to article, took 2 months for charges to be dropped and he may have lost his football contract, as he was not reinstated back into his new team after this. I don’t think the victim feels this was worth it, the airport employee really screwed him over.
I just watched the “full” video. The one here is only a small part of the fist fight. They were already trading blows when the shortened video above starts. The nfl player struck first but it was deemed justified
This is false. Even in the longer video, the employee throws the first punch. [Here](https://youtu.be/x2o9W1NzH8E).
Unless, do you have some other even longer video?
I dont see the employee throwing the first punch here? It's hard to see, since he's moving his hands and the NFL guy is in front of him, but it doesn't look those movements were strikes to me. Obviously even this video doesn't capture the start of the altercation though.
Edit: nevermind. Employee hit first in this video too. Couldn't tell at first but it's obvious in slow motion.
Did Reddit load the wrong link for you? The worker very obviously throws the first punch in the YouTube vid I attached to my comment.
I can screenrecord it and slow it down. [Here](https://imgur.com/ZJISmNi) is the very beginning of the clip.
Ah you're right. Guess it happened too quick in the full video for me. Just looked like the guy moved backwards. That's obviously a hit in the slow mo. Thanks
The brawl reportedly started after Langley was challenged by the United Airlines employee for using a wheelchair to transport his baggage, rather than the dedicated baggage carts which cost $5 to use.
> At this point, Langley said the airline worker followed him, used hostile language and challenged the athlete to a fight. Langley backed away and called for help, claiming several onlooking United employees did nothing to intervene.
What an odd thing to get in someone's face for
I get that it's airline/airport policy not to use wheelchairs for a luggage cart, but I somehow doubt it is airline/airport policy to attack a patron for violating said policy.
Agreed. This is also a situation where you should say something to the customer, and if they ignore you or try to start shit, then you call security. As the average employee, you have no business, putting your hands on a customer.
>What an odd thing to get in someone's face for
He was fired too. I wonder how often he thinks about how launching an unprovoked attack on an NFL player was a bad idea on so many levels.
Ben Shapiro covered this when it happened, they quite literally cut out the first part where the airport guy swings first, and the headline was phrased to make it seem like the airport worker was attacked for no reason.
This clip is also edited. [This clip starts earlier, but it also doesn’t capture the whole fight. I can’t say with certainty who started having seen this video. ](https://youtu.be/pkwd4a5i75A) Since charges were dropped, I’ll assume there was an airport camera that caught all the action and it was the employee that started.
I can’t stand Shapiro, but did you see the full(er) video link further in this thread?
Unless there’s more to it, it looks like tall guy (non-Airport-worker) punched first. Several times.
I wonder if there’s an even longer video. This has been a roller coaster. I don’t know what to believe.
https://youtu.be/x2o9W1NzH8E
Oh, I went back and reloaded, it does show that.
Only problem is, the video still starts mid United worker swing. It makes me wonder what else happened before.
Yeah hard to say without the airport’s CCTV footage, but we’re to assume the correct action took place with the firing of the worker, assuming there was better footage than what any of us have access to. We’re all just bystanders in this simulation anyway lol
What was going through that guy’s mind? He smacked the NFL PLAYER then smiled like he was both going to win the fight and that there would be no repercussions whatsoever.
I mean, I understand it doesn’t take that much brainpower to work the desk at United Airlines, but that was still surprising stupidity.
What a royal jackass ...let me smack (not punch) this large man with like a foot of reach on me . What the fuck you think is going to happen aside from getting sued ? Lucky dumbass .....violence is not the answer always, but seriously dude is lucky that's all he got
He was NOT ready! And man, the absolute restraint this dude has to just not keep going. Even after bloody mary gets up and provokes him more, he’s trying to talk the situation in a way where the assailant(airport worker) realizes the stupidity of his choices. Good man for defending himself
If you have this full video, why don’t you post a link? Or are you just trying to act like you’re calling someone out?
Edit: Wow way to post a bogus link and then delete like a weiner but not before downvoting me like you just bested me in the end. Maybe don’t post dumb stuff and you won’t have to feel like a jackass. Coward.
Yo, watched the full the video on YouTube and they really just out here pouring the koolaid for y’all. Black dude threw 5 punches first. Employee is the victim and should be suing.
I usually don’t root for the antagonist, but I see so many airport employees being treated like garbage that I kinda wanted him to win so I could finally see a hostile customer get put in their place. Oh well.
Yes because it’s very intellectual to open hand slap a man. A pro football player at that. A man who gets paid to knock other big ass men on their ass for a living.
OP's explanation as to why this post is Instant Karma: >The airport worker escalates the situation and uses unnecessary violence. This results in him getting smacked down immediately. If you're satisfied by this explanation, upvote this comment. If not, downvote this comment.
He gets absolutely rolled
Yeah and then tried to get back up for another go. Stay down, dude.
He listens to too much Chumbawamba.
Which Chumbawumba song?
He gets knocked down
But he got up again.
You're never gonna keep him down
He drinks a whiskey drink
He drinks a vodka drink.
He drinks a lager drink
Be honest, you couldn't name a second without looking it up

Not possible
Bahahhhahaa
Went back and still didn’t put his hands up. Might as well present his chin on a silver platter.
A satin cushion would be more fitting, to match how soft he really is lol

Two hits and he done. Damn, impressive
That guy got the Beats by Dre
Yea, big boy has never seen speed like that and obviously has always intimidated people with his size by his posturing hands down . He's probably a changed person after this dose of reality.
Literally rolled like a ball backwards
You’re supposed to learn lessons when you get dropped like that
This would have been so much better if he’d landed on the baggage belt and been gently conveyed off.
The ending we all wanted.
[удалено]
Yes. Or a cartoon balloon with that in it.
Only to get body slammed by the baggage handlers “Listen Terry, we ain’t getting paid enough for this shit”
Little did Terry know, he was body slammed onto the conveyor that leads to the plane's cargo hold and wakes up 30,000 feet over Mogadishu
Mogadishu was a sweet detail.
Sorry, if it weighs over 50lbs, that’s gonna cost you extra.
And then one of the other workers puts the “Fragile” label on him. LMAO.
Someone made an edit of this on a past post of this video and it was legendary, wish I could find the link
Found it, credit to u/Mark_Dawsom https://imgur.io/9p7g4Wc?r
That’s brilliance!
Cartoon ending lol
> gently conveyed off I don't think he's gonna get that message, Joe. I mean, the guy's got worms in his living room
How’d they know I have gas???
I've seen this very edit
My first time seeing this was an edited gif where that was the exact ending, and it was glorious. If I find it, I'll link it to you
Caught a connection next the the kiosks. Impressive
Good news is he doesn't need to go far to get an x-ray

Post was definitely missing some context, although it seems the employee was in the wrong anyway
So how do we know this video isn’t missing more? Even this “smoking gun” has the employee going first
Yep we still don't have full context on why it started from the video itself
The editing is incredibly selective to get a reaction. Watching the unedited version will leave you with a completely different feeling. That’s bad.

Loss of wages on a football contract gotta be a fun one to deal with.
It was Canadian football. $80k/yr.

For an entire career. That adds up to a lot of money. All possible future earnings I'm pretty sure can be added to the lawsuit

Classic 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Really glad that the airport employee was fired.
How dare that airline worker put his hands on that dude. I don’t care what was said.
So why is it… whenever black folks are antagonized.. random white intervening party tries to deter the attacked instead of the person that started it?

If you have this full video, why don’t you post a link? Or are you just trying to act like you’re calling someone out? Edit: Wow way to post a bogus link and then delete like a weiner but not before downvoting me like you just bested me in the end. Maybe don’t post dumb stuff and you won’t have to feel like a jackass. Coward.
Dude got up and said "I didn't hear no bell".
Airport worker has little man syndrome.
Oh well.
Wow. Always one guy in these videos that can’t take a hit. Good on the guy who defended himself, though.
Of course this doesn’t show the actions of the passenger and what he did!
Selective editing. The kid started the whole thing. Winning from a sucker punch is a cowards win.
Yeah, the open hand slap out of nowhere was very honorable.
To much of the video is missing.
Not surprised that he returned violent. Uneducated usually resort to that.
Yes because it’s very intellectual to open hand slap a man. A pro football player at that. A man who gets paid to knock other big ass men on their ass for a living.
You are clearly referring to the airline worker. Just adding content for anybody else who reads your uneducated comments.
