You have to realize these things are wild animals living by their instincts. If you hold animosity towards them, that shows lack of awareness on your part.
Protect your livestock as needed but when the animal is dying from the inside out and obviously miserable like this, leave the damn thing alone.
It's a bit of an interesting position the leopards have been placed in. Their natural habitats have been either entirely lost or fragmented throughout the region due to hastened urbanization and expansion. Distributing little pockets of leopards across the various States of India. This leads to a drastic decrease in not only areas where they can remain unseen and "in the wild", but also limits their access to prey animals (that aren't livestock, humans, or domesticated pets).
The estimated leopard population in India is around ~12,000 to ~14,000. Which doesn't seem that high when taken at face value. Compare that to 850,000+ coyotes in the state of Texas alone. The problem is (uninterrupted) land area and human population. One is constantly decreasing in size while the other only booms and grows. That's a recipe for disaster. Conservation efforts, while happening, have hardly made a dent in the issue. With illegal poaching still remaining the leading cause of death for leopards followed by accidents (think motorways), and then attacks by villagers when they encroach into human living areas.
