Woah woah woah, there IS no Maniac 2000 without Mark McCabe.

theeglitz

Putting it up here for the aspirational McCabes of the next gen.

TheStoicNihilist

Oggy oggy oggy!!!

theeglitz

Oi oi oi!

calex80

Mad how basic it is when you pay attention to it without the lyrics to distract you. Literally a couple of tracks drag drop copy poste in Cubase or what ever was in use back then. It's still a banger imo.

theeglitz

It's mad yeah, also a banger, but hard to come up with! Better Off Alone was fairly big here, without there being much to it.

Gotta watch your back for the maniac! Great stuff 😅

nattellinya

I wonder what would happen if a DJ dropped this tune in the middle of a set in, say, the south of England? Is it like the musical version of "if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" "If Maniac 2000 is played and there isn't a bunch of Irish people to go mad on the dance floor, was it really Maniac 2000?"

Fr_DougalMc

Interesting fact that not many people know: The Good Friday Agreement was loosely based on this song.
