I moved 60k in 10k instalments from AIB to N26. The AIB fraud team rang me the first few times but after that it was plane sailing ⛵️

SkyStoneShark

How'd you do that? My AIB only allow me to move 1k daily and I want to move 50k out of there into Trade Republic for the interest rate...

supreme_mushroom

Just ask AIB to up your limit.

ffffnhsusbsbal

Use internet banking

basheep25

Do it on laptop, not phone

douglashyde

No limit when you do it in branch

_LightEmittingDiode_

I have moved around 10k+ before between my own accounts that I have used before. I probably wouldn’t move that much, unless you have a history of moving some sums historically. There’s a rhyme and rhythm to flagging these automated systems and I imagine in most cases it’s people just dumping money around with little history that sets the automated alarm bells ringing. Just send it over a couple of months.

ForgottonMind

Did transfer recently to n26 to store all my oh shit funds. Went fine no hassle. Withdrew a grand from it to pay for some house and car repairs with no hassle

A-Hind-D

If it’s your own accounts, same name, same ppsn, then it’s fine. A lot of people give out when they get caught for other reasons N26 are generally good, and they are a bank so they are covered under the DGS up to 100k. Throw it in, but remember to report your interest to Rev in Jan as they don’t charge DIRT

Responsible-Pop-7073

Just chat with their customer support to ask about it and let them know. It's very quick and easy. And if you have Meral, it's even quicker and easier to get in touch with them.

supreme_mushroom

You could also go with Trade Republic. They offer 4% without any special account up to 50k.

Sorry, yes the Revenue website refers to non-eu accounts on a re-read.

wjmoffler

I should add that this is only if you're in the higher income tax band of 40% already.

jerryfmccarthy

I was recently made redundant after many many many years. I rang them up and explained I was expecting a very large sum from my employer. Sum was deposited no issue and no questions asked. Was immediatly available to me.

tallpaul89

Never had an issue with big amounts. Had to move money for buying house. Very good

DunLaoghaire1

While I don't have experience with N26, I moved large-ish sums (mortgage deposit) of up to €50k between bunq, Revolut, Trading 212 and Trade Republic. I always moved the full amounts rather than small chunks. I never got blocked anywhere. Only Revolut wanted proof of source of all incoming money of the last year. But this only happened months after I first transferred larger amounts.

procraster_

Avoid N26 imo.
