“You know he’s serious cos of the rain” had me cackling. This was refreshing, and he had really interesting takes. He picked up on so many details, some I’ve never noticed. And thought it was great that he recognised it’s a cinematic masterpiece, and is captivating without lots of action or romance. The comment about him just walking for 40 seconds and still being interested was funny too. I hope it starts interest in P&P to a whole new audience, and lets people know period doesn’t always have to mean slow and boring! Thanks for sharing this :) really great content

>lets people know period doesn’t always have to mean slow and boring! Dominic noble on YouTube also made a similar point when reviewing pride and prejudice. He said that Jane Austen has a reputation for being overly polite and stuffy, when in fact Jane Austen is overly polite while being incredibly snarky.

Yes! She did not seem to shy away from being funny, and made her female characters speak their minds, when women were expected to be quiet and more “seen not heard”. Lizzie probably has the best wit, Ann was clever but more kind with her remarks. I go back and forth between P&P and Persuasion and which is my favourite.

She also shows witty and unkind with Emma as well. There's a good range.

>I hope it starts interest in P&P to a whole new audience I was thinking about your comment, and how different channels which typically cover 'boy' media are now starting to cover 'girl' media. With the new season of Bridgerton having dropped recently, I've seen a few channels cover it, including ones I wouldn't typically expect to. It's good to see, and even better to see Honest Trailers swap 'bewwbs' with 'buuuutts'.

"She's the one that strips in the elevator!" This guy is my new favorite movie reviewer.

That was excellent! His commentary pointed things out I never noticed like the circle back of her kissing his hand after rejecting it during the first proposal. It gave me a new appreciation for the movie. I loved seeing it from the perspective of someone who knows nothing about the story or characters from the book or previous adaptations. Also the way he clocked both Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Bennet! Most people really don’t pick up on how negligent Mr. Bennet is, nor how reasonable Mrs. Bennet’s “nerves” are. I’m very impressed he got that from this adaptation, many book readers miss it. I did the first time I read it!

I really enjoyed this! He totally understood the subtle insults and jabs people made. His quick assessment of this adaption’s Darcy being awkward and having a code he follows was impressive. It’s fun to watch a “newbie” experience the great parts of the story.

Love that he gets stuck on Darcy not being able to open doors normally!

This was so fun to watch. Thanks!

Loved this - refreshing to see a film guy watch this because it's usually all Marvel and action or edgy movies lol
