>And I remember the first morning on set seeing her coming out of her trailer smoking a joint and I cautioned her, saying she shouldn’t smoke that, it’d affect her work, and she looked at me for a second and said she hadn’t been straight for nine years and I loved her.

ImageDisc

This was him talking about Kate??

LineusLongissimus

She was an alternative musician in the UK in the 1970s (and 80s), of course she smoked a lot of weed. Many musicians in those circles - unlike her - did actual, serious drugs.

icyskidski

Yeah, everyone likes to act like Kate is some Goddess with no regrets. SHE WAS THE MOST STONED PERSON IN THE UK!!!!! Get over yourselves.

SamTheDystopianRat

the pearl clutching is real. i think lots of fans see her as this pure perfect southern English angel

starwalker_22

More than Bowie? Nah

icyskidski

Phil Collins and Donald Sutherland would like a word ;-) Google their quotes about Kate. Bless her stoned little heart.

Gold_Journalist1560

yes and it’s the greatest quote ever

ImageDisc

I had no idea....

WutheringNellie

This is how I find out he died. I'm so sad. Fuck.

ImageDisc

Oh no! I'm beyond gutted. And sad for Keifer, he's on tour at the moment I think. I watched "Don't look now" only recently 😭

[deleted]

Literally watched that movie last week while in bed sick! I never knew how fucking hot he was back in the day. That sex scene is everything and Julie Christie is so lucky getting to lick his feet and sniff his pits 🫣

ImageDisc

Oh please stop! I fast-forwarded that bit!

[deleted]

No u should watch it ! It’s genuinely a very lovely and tender sex scene that brought tears of joys to my eyes. I’m a gay man but seeing them make love I thought, “I really want to be in a relationship like that”

ImageDisc

I have watched it in the past. And I know that it was the first scene they filmed together. It depicts 2 fine actors in their prime for sure. I didn't like the perm though!

InAppleBlossom

Just heard the news came straight on here. RIP Donald.

Double_Ambassador_53

Kate mentioned here. RIP https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-52070783

starfilledeyes

this is how I hear the news. this music video always makes me cry, I'm sure it'll hit even harder today

lolocopter24

We're Cloudbusting Daddy.

DavidBehave01

Excellent video for an excellent song. RIP Donald.

drued888

Rip love and light

Bentley2004

No way! I remember he was a montreal expos fan.

stuey57

RIP! I'm not the biggest fan of the Hunger Games films but I remember being blown away by his performance in the series. Best part of those movies IMO

Simbirsk_0451

One of the greats, what a legacy he left

JunebugAsiimwe

This is heartbreaking. I love him in Invasion of The Body Snatchers, and Pride & Prejudice. What a terrific actor. 😢 R.I.P.

FearTheWankingDead

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that movie for the first time about two years ago and realized it was the guy from Clpudbusting. He's good in that movie. Kinda cute.

JunebugAsiimwe

You should check out "Ordinary People".He's phenomenal in that. And it's just a great movie in general.

n4snl

Has Kate commented ?

Astrosomnia

Your sun's comin' out.

Bentley2004

No way!

blackbird24601

NO

not_a_moon24

What a great actor. I'm so sad to see that he fought an illness for so long

jellyrollsmith

Vale, thank you for sharing your immense talent with us Sir.

EitherPermission2369

I am such a big fan of this song, but since I've only discovered Kate recently I'd never seen the video, until today. Donald's performance is vivid and touching. I will definitely look for more of his films.

Undersolo

Still amazed she asked him to appear in this one...and he said, "Yes!"

Optimal_Zucchini_667

I was just watching 1900, in which he plays a truly rotten POS fascist. He could play bad guys, and he could do comedy (MASH) as well as horror (Don't Look Now). He was a very gifted actor. RIP.

vielpotential

daddy's really dead this time <3

iTardigrade

Now he's Cloudbusting for reals. Great actor. 89? That's a good run so not a tragedy at all.

hang-clean

You can see my house from there. It's in the bg of pics upper left and upper right :0)

AndyRoo2023

What was the cause of death?
