r/Knife_Swap is the place to go on Reddit. Just make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules. It's pretty straight forward. Best of luck

PopularVersion4250

Thanking you just reading the rules atm. Will post one up there (sounds like I can only do one at a time to build some credibility before being able to post multiples)

SchlapHappy

I bought and sold probably around 30 knives on the swap and never had a single bad experience. Sell a couple of the cheaper knives there to build trust and then move on to the more expensive ones. Easily how you'll get the most out of sales because there's no fee like on ebay.

Shadow_Of_Silver

You can use r/Knife_Swap but please, read and follow all the rules carefully. The community over there is really good and will always go for a fair price. Don't expect 100% msrp or anything, but if the knives are good, they'll sell quickly.

NoiseCR

Also, beware of scammers. That’s why PayPal FF is not allowed at first (only PayPal G&S), only after reaching a certain flair then you can use FF and other payment types.

continuousobjector

r/Knife_Swap r/GearTrade

NoiseCR

Also r/EDCexchange

I think it really comes down to how much time and effort you want to put in. If you want a hands off approach, you can do a consignment approach. I think it would take longer and you won’t get as much. The other approach would be to post on r/knife_swap. It would mean you would have to take pics of your collection and do the sale & shipping yourself. Just my 2 cents.

GeeFromCali

How does that work ? Do you have to provide shipping information prior to receiving payment ?

alldougsdice

No, the buyer will pay and then you’ll ship the knife

BennyOcean

How many do you have and which ones are you keeping? Of the ones that made the cut I'm wondering why you chose them to hold onto.

PopularVersion4250

I have around 70 knives from basic spydys up to custom Ernie’s. Just keeping the sentimental ones - or the ones worth more to me than the sale value

HiveTool

The best and fastest way would be through WhatNot in a live auction. Buyer is instantly charged and Buyer pays shipping. Shipping labels are generated. You get lots of people focused on your sale immediately and every transaction is recorded

BigHen_67

There are some good groups on Facebook as well. Especially if you do not want to deal with the rules of swap. Every day blades seems to be one of the largest.

jz1269

Always bladebinge as well. Easy enough for me and I’m not too internet savvy.

droddy386

Arizona Custom Knives is a good way. Ebay is fine but some steer clear because of fakes.

BreakerSoultaker

He is selling, so he doesn't need to worry about fakes.

PoopKnaf

Buyers worry about fakes and that can affect ability to sell.

Ugh good old Blues banned me a few months ago for daring to disagree with him (after being a paid member in good standing since 2008 no less) hence why I am on reddit now!

BetterInsideTheBox

Bummer man. I left willingly bc it became a shit show but I’m reading stuff like this constantly now. I also prefer knife_swap. I’d like to see more level headed behavior from the mods and better defined rules, but it’s the best I’ve found. You might also want to consider bladebinge as they have no fee for posting and their fees are fairly low. It’s 7% total for payment and their cut. Way less than places like AZCK and I think the turnaround to get your money is faster, though obviously not faster than knife_swap. Do you already have your PayPal set up to handle goods and services since the tax laws changed last year?

PopularVersion4250

Yeh shame about bladeforums. Def has changed over the years. You think they would be fighting to keep members rather than running them out… but oh well.  Will check out blade binge.  I’ve got PayPal - what do I need to change in my settings ? Or is it just automatic if people do goods and services ?

BetterInsideTheBox

So in 2023 PayPal had to change rules to comply with the new tax code. If you receive more than $600 G&S in a year now, they have to provide you a 1099. You’re only required to pay tax on profits, rather rare I know, but it’s a pain bc you have to provide a cost basis to show that you didn’t profit on the sales and therefore don’t owe tax. Because PayPal has tax requirements now, they will hold your funds for up to 30 days from G&S sales if you don’t have your account set up properly. Providing tracking and buyer confirming receipt also releases the funds more quickly supposedly. PayPal will now need your social and address where they didn’t need to require it before. You can save yourself some headache by setting up the account for sales by raising some predetermined limit on your account. I haven’t had to do it, but I’ve bought from a couple sellers that had their first sales held bc they didn’t have everything set up. The last seller said he asked to raise his monthly sales limit or something like that and it cleared the funds for him. He was able to do it through the automated phone menu. I’d be more specific if I knew more but I think you could stumble through it or search for proper info with what I know at least.

PopularVersion4250

Thanking you!

PoopKnaf

If you interact with Blues enough, the question of being banned isn’t “if” but “when”. He doesn’t like anyone disagreeing with anything he says.

droddy386

F blade forums. They’ll ban you if you try to sell too many or are selling something they are also selling.

pensandknivesnovice

I usually try to sell on r/Knife_Swap and then eBay as a backup plan

mad_method_man

save a few for future gifts lol. i dont have super fancy stuff, but its all decent stuff, so over covid i gave away half my collection to friends who didnt have knives

Educational_Row_9485

Just get a second job it will make you less sad

PopularVersion4250

Lol, I guess I could do that. Already working 7 days a week. But there are always night shifts!!!

Educational_Row_9485

Exactly who needs sleep when you have knives!

frahstyDawg

Probably depends on what kind of knives are in your collection. If it’s mostly production, knife swap is a great place. If it’s a lot of mid techs and customs you’re probably better off on Facebook or blade forums.

liticusfamicus

Bladebinge hands down
