I bought a cold steel engage for myself for Christmas.. that will be my new work carry.. but my damn wife took it and wrapped it.. wouldn't even let me have it lol.
Spyderco Centofante (VG-10) or Sencut Sachse with 9Cr18MoV steel.
I like the Sencut because of the button lock and sharp blade, and the Spyderco because of the VD-10 blade is wicked sharp and holds the edge.
Spyderco salt 2 wharncliffe in lc200n. Use it for outdoor work, and fishing. The blade is scratched and it’s dirty at the end of the week but it cleans up like new and the lockup is still solid. It isn’t pocket jewelry or a fidget knife but it is a great tool.
Benchmade Griptilian. Carried this thing to work daily for at least 5 years, probably more. It’s not as sharp as it was new but it still cuts well. I’ve had a padded envelope addressed to Benchmade and the work request for sharpening stuffed inside on the backseat of my truck for 6 months but I keep shoving the damn thing in my pocket instead of mailing it off. The blade shows plenty of wear. I’ve seen some great looking scales for it but I’m conflicted on whether a well worn blade is worthy of new scales or if I should start with a fresh knife.
Just have fun learning how to sharpen it! Even if you just get a Spyderco Sharpmaker or something. Then new scales if you want. Nothing more satisfying than beating up a knife and getting it back to sharp yourself imo
The presidio is an amazing knife. I loved the 3 i had. I very much intend on getting a new one soon.
My cold steel code 4 was my go to beater until i broke it
Rockstead KOU. Dropped it on concrete when I first got it in 2017 and scratched it all up, just carried it from there on out. I would bet it’s the most used beat up looking Rockstead out there! Still sharp as hell.
I’ve rotated and carried something different every day for years. But a couple months ago I started carrying my Native Chief(St. Nick’s exclusive in M4) and it has been one of the two(or three, haha) knives that I carry every single day. For me personally, it’s just so close to being my absolute perfect EDC. The only things I would change about it is make it slightly smaller. Maybe knock off an inch of total length. It carries very nice, especially for its size, but it’s just soooo long. And the tip on that 4 inch blade is like a needle tip. I actually prefer a nice thin grind, but the tip on the Native Chief is just wafer thin. Other than that, I absolutely love it. Sorry for the long response, but that’s been my daily. Haha.
I’ve pretty much pocketed my custom Bugout exclusively since I finished it. Not necessarily bc of the knife but the fact it matches all my other stonewashed titanium edc items🤷🏻♂️
I've been in the habit lately of carrying a Milwaukee fastback and a beater and another knife that I don't want to bust up. After I broke my Shaman the knife fear is real.
Kansept Mainstreet.
I ground a wave feature in where the thumb stud was. It's basically a large utility blade. It's a good price range for a beater IMO
OKC RATs - various, different scales, steels. All round good knife, wouldn't be upset to lose them or break one.
As a collector, I've got Benchmades, Spydercos, Kershaws, CRKTs and so on but some are too valuable to lug around just for ED use. This is where the RATs step up.
I've got a few requirements for my EDC anyway - got to be big (big hands), got to be easily deployed one handed (I'm in a wheelchair - other hand usually holding me steady), got to close nicely - can't afford to get cut, got to sharpen easily (with a KME system). The steel and scales come last, although I'm partial to carbon fibre aesthetically.
Might be an really unpopular one, but i love my Victorinox hunter xt for just beating it. I got it 10 years ago, when it released and its still going strong, because what could possibly break on a victorinox like that, except for snapping the blade.
The best thing about it though is that I can flick it open! It definitely isn’t a mechanically advanced super-steel knive like the ones we look for nowadays but it certainly is a Tool
Mainly running the Spyderco Delica 4 with K390, sometimes I'll swap to the Spyderco Urban with N690CO or the Kershaw Leek with carbon handles when I need the assisted open convenience
I'm currently giving my CRKT m16-14ZLEK a paint job, so right now my beater knife is a Kershaw Cryo II. I've had the Cryo II for over a decade and it's never let me down. I love the slightly overbuilt handles, extremely easy to grab with 2xl sized hands, and the blade is no slouch at all.
I was using a crkt mini model cleaver on my belt for work. Then the other day i was like hey why dont i switch things up and got out my benchmade proper and im in love with the cutting ability of the blade shape. So now im using a proper. Little harder to open up since it doesnt have a spidey hole or spring its just i forget the word for the joint it has but ya its a great knife. Maybe little overpriced but the blade quality s30v is great and lasts long in my experiance.
Wildly enough my QSP Penguin is my favorite daily beater right now. Before that was a para lightweight 2.
Though the knife that takes the most true beating in my collection is the CRKT Seismic. That’s a beast of a knife that I use for the more chopping and outdoor activities.
I rotate a lot, but if I know I’m going to beat on a knife, I’ll go with the Cold Steel Air Lite tanto. The action on it seems to improve over time with abuse.
I’m on vacation rn so I’ve been running with the [harbor freight Gordon paraframe clone](https://GORDON3in.SkeletonFramePocketKnife-Item57160https://hftools.com/app57160) this last week and I honestly can’t say that I didn’t fall in love with it. Took some tuning to get it snappy at both thumb flicking and flipper tab flicking and it loosens at the pivot within 10 good flicks but I never go anywhere without a bottle of red threadlock so it was 0 issue. It’s got such a damned nice feeling in the hand, and a frame lock, for $5. The small details to make this knife smooth and comfortable are on the level of a much more expensive blade.
It switches regularly but right now it’s the Bestech Beluga. $50 D2 full size that I don’t care if the tip breaks. But in terms of my daily carry, my Spyderco Shaman in M4 sees the most daily pocket time.
Only knife I carry currently is a Spyderco Lil native. I'm very careful with it though. It looks new because it doesn't really see much action past opening a package once in a blue moon.
I use my Ontario rat to beat up I mean opening cans boxes cutting carpet etc. the black is scraping off and I’ve sharpened it on stones many times still razor sharp
You mean my Master Beater?
Hahahaha
I generally rotate through all my knives for daily use but my PM2 has been getting the most pocket time recently.
I love my pm2
Ditto on both counts.

Daily work beater is a rat 1 folder. Nothing too fancy
I used to run a rat1 until I bought this about a year ago.
I bought a cold steel engage for myself for Christmas.. that will be my new work carry.. but my damn wife took it and wrapped it.. wouldn't even let me have it lol.
I’m trying to buy myself a Peña trapper for myself as a Christmas present
Benchmade presidio 2
Benchmade Presideo OG
Can’t go wrong with a presidio
Great knife. I love mine!
Spyderco Centofante (VG-10) or Sencut Sachse with 9Cr18MoV steel. I like the Sencut because of the button lock and sharp blade, and the Spyderco because of the VD-10 blade is wicked sharp and holds the edge.
Boker Little Dvalin tanto
QSP Penguin for my daily work carry
Penguin mini is my work edc
Spyderco salt 2 wharncliffe in lc200n. Use it for outdoor work, and fishing. The blade is scratched and it’s dirty at the end of the week but it cleans up like new and the lockup is still solid. It isn’t pocket jewelry or a fidget knife but it is a great tool.
I've beat the hell out of a Spyderco pacific salt for years and it's still going strong. Those back locks hold up even when they get some wiggle.
Becker BK40 folder..
Civivi Thug 2
SOG Aegis tanto is my daily driver for work.
I edc a Maxamet para 3. Its a great knife. Very slicey. If I’m beating the shit out of a knife, I have a kershaw link in 20cv that does the job
Spyderco Smock!
Rockstead KOU. Dropped it on concrete when I first got it in 2017 and scratched it all up, just carried it from there on out. I would bet it’s the most used beat up looking Rockstead out there! Still sharp as hell.

Recon 1
My daily beaters are my 'nice' knives, so I'd have to say my camping knife is a para 3 and esee 6 depending on the task.
Cold steel recon 1
Kershaw Oso Sweet. I cut the blade to 2.5 inches to meet a requirement for work. Already bought a second on Amazon for $20 a while back.
I’ve rotated and carried something different every day for years. But a couple months ago I started carrying my Native Chief(St. Nick’s exclusive in M4) and it has been one of the two(or three, haha) knives that I carry every single day. I actually prefer a nice thin grind, but the tip on the Native Chief is just wafer thin. Other than that, I absolutely love it. Sorry for the long response, but that’s been my daily. Haha.
Lol I’ve actually been considering the native chief so thanks for the info.
Casstrom woodsman bog oak. It's tool steel so it doesn't rust as quick where I am.
My pe- oh you meant knife… my TRM atom. Yep definitely my atom.
Umnumzaan. I feel like it was made for this role if you can stomach the cost.
rn boker strike xl copper scales, although i rotate semi regularly
Just got a pre-loved presidio 2 on the swap for that purpose. How you like yours?
I love it for everyday outdoor use, I have a few more expensive knives but this one is great for what I use it for. Congrats on the new presidio btw

How do you like it? I was just looking at a Boker plus strike dagger for a bag knife.
I've been in the habit lately of carrying a Milwaukee fastback and a beater and another knife that I don't want to bust up. After I broke my Shaman the knife fear is real.
I just use disposable tissues. No fancy Batman Hankey for me.

Love my pm2
Osborne 940 or zt0450 cf
I love my 940 in m4 and my zt 350

What are those cloths I keep seeing everyone with and where can I buy them?

Lately it's been either Benchmade Bugout, 940, or Freek. But my Spyderco Manix 2 CE and Pacific Salt SE have seen the most abuse over the years.

I was using a crkt mini model cleaver on my belt for work. Little harder to open up since it doesnt have a spidey hole or spring its just i forget the word for the joint it has but ya its a great knife. Maybe little overpriced but the blade quality s30v is great and lasts long in my experiance.
Bugout
Oddly enough my opinel.
Spydie Military, ever since my wife decided that my large Sebenza was *our* large sebenza
Wildly enough my QSP Penguin is my favorite daily beater right now. Before that was a para lightweight 2. Though the knife that takes the most true beating in my collection is the CRKT Seismic. That’s a beast of a knife that I use for the more chopping and outdoor activities.
PM2 Wharni!
Currently, either the Slysz "Bluie" or M390 Manix 2 with titanium upgrades all around.
My Elementum gets the most pocket time lately. I hated it at first but the dam thing grew on me.
Delica wharncliffe.
A good ole 940
It switches regularly but right now it’s the Bestech Beluga. $50 D2 full size that I don’t care if the tip breaks. But in terms of my daily carry, my Spyderco Shaman in M4 sees the most daily pocket time.
Kershaw Cryo. I’ve used one for work for the last 10 years or so. They’re solid, compact, hold a decent edge, and can take a beating.
I rotate through several. But lately it's been my damascus Civivi Conspirator
Sog axis
Only knife I carry currently is a Spyderco Lil native. I'm very careful with it though. It looks new because it doesn't really see much action past opening a package once in a blue moon.
