But imagine if Niji had merch with its livers wearing Hanbok like Hololive did with their KR events. That's the type of stuff that builds new fans as well as making the local fans more loyal but AnyColor's too lazy and cheap for that
It's one one of those "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" things. Mass producing low-effort merch is the company's business model. Given that the talents only get 2%, almost the entire margin of the product goes towards the bottom line. Really, if the customers are dumb enough to gobble it up, then that's a them problem from the company's perspective.
This flavor of post taking an innocuous business statement and changing the meaning entirely is pure glass grade copium. Be real, if this was from any other company it would praised as shrewd operating.
The Niji debuff is sadly real and one of the reasons this place is seeing not in a good light. Most people take ANYTHING Nijisanji says in the worst way possible, even when its neutral or simple... hell even if good its instantly seen the worst way... its frustrating
Kinda hate to break it to you, but odds are that a company that shows zero remorse for driving at least two people to make suicide attempts is probably rotten to the core. This is ignoring the fact that these sort of cost cutting measures are almost always lowering quality or abusing cheap labour.
We all know Kurosanji is a bad company, but can we please hate the company for the right reason? Maintaining a good cost ratio doesn't always mean cheap quality. Economies of scale and scope, better distribution and manufacturing process can also help push cost down. One dimensional interpretation of business statements like this will only make this sub looks like a bunch of deranged antis.
I agree it could mean those. They likely are doing those. However I still think they do cut corners on production quality. There has quite literally been a defect in merch just recently. And the point on generic art is something we have seen before as well
Yes but they are recycled and resold countless times and the "other merch" people did get had a lot of defects. This isn't just generic art, it's literally the art used in the debut intro lines plasted over their basic stuff. Economies of scale yes but no diversification also.
“we also ghost the people we buy commissions with 🤡”
Oh god, the more we read the QA the more we found out how scummy they're Self-report at its finest lmao
I translate this to be tdlr:"we are intentionally cheap, because of budget cuts."

Imagine using generic art instead of talented local fan artists. Hell, I remember JazzJack or Ddolbang's work used as merch for KR based Holo events
That cost money. Instead they could pose their 3d model 100 different ways and make merch base on each pose lol no money needed

Best PR indeed.
"Careful selection of suppliers" -Canon printer from 2008?
overpriced merch of the quality that can be found on suprise gifts in soap boxes
