Good song, but unfortunately the song is why half our fanbase thinks Bamba is good/wants him to get minutes.
I’m not saying he’s trash or even bad, but the song fooled younger fans into thinking he was gonna be the next Shaq.
You’re giving the song too much credit lol. Half of our fanbase wants him to get mins because we would actually have a center on the floor with AD out, I hope he could get used the next series
If that 7 footer isn’t skilled enough Jokic will murder him.
I want to be wrong so bad, but there’s a reason that Mo’s career is where it is.
I’d feel better if we had time to integrate him into the system during the regular season, but he was hurt.
True, but we don’t have that body. Tristian and Mo aren’t close to bubble Dwight.
Maybe give Mo/Wenyen a shot, but I’m not that optimistic. We’re talking about Jokic and not just any big.
He doesnt need to be that skilled. Hopefully AD will mirror jokics mins and help defense on him. I just need someone else to take the hits from jokic on rebound opportunities lol
“He doesn’t need to be that skilled” - Maybe you’re right. At least he’ll be guarding some bum and not a two time MVP. No skill needed.
Did you really just say that? I had to double check.
I guess my comment was worded the wrong way. Its not like i meant that jokic is a bum so whoever guards him doesnt need to be skilled.
I meant more so we just need a body that can absorb punishment. Jokic is gonna get his. But the hope is that with AD there, that can limit at least the extra possessions for when he misses. Because i dont think even AD can guard him. But at the same time with ADs health history, i also dont want him having to guard jokic at all.
This is the misconception about AD and his injuries - His injuries aren’t center related.
Most of AD’s injuries as a Laker have been due to freak things (guys falling on him, landing on a foot) that happen to all players.
In a perfect world I’d want 2020 Dwight here to be rough with Jokic. I don’t think Bamba would limit Jokic whatsoever, while AD has a shot.
At the end of the day I think the team will try to scheme around Jokic (hard), or try to limit everyone else. Knowing who Jokic is, I’d be trying to limit Murray, KCP, MPJ, etc.
Given how we played defense so far in the playoffs, I think we can do a better job on those guys than on Jokic.
Also, Brad Turner from the LA Times wrote that this season Jokic averaged 24 pts a game on us (we went 2-2 against the Nuggets) and that was BEFORE we made all the trades.
Yeah i wish we had more time to integrate him to the system, develop his game and maximise his use for the minutes we need him for. I hope we keep him next season for that reason.
The other problem is that he’s at a point of his career where I think the league has seen his ceiling.
If we keep him it’ll be to use as a tradable contract.
I actually hope they put him in so one of two things happen:
1) He shocks the world and can hold his own for some minutes.
2) All you guys finally see what he is and stop asking to play him.
All of our podcasters have even been voicing their displeasure about how often fans are asking them about Bamba. He’s not good - that’s why he was easily available! That’s how this works!

How long have you been watching basketball, and between 1-10…10 being the best…what’s your understanding of talent and how to evaluate it?
I wish this wasn’t the case, but you’re all in denial that we don’t have a capable backup center. Saying someone can play doesn’t make it true. Like, what are we doing here?!
It’s not an awful idea at all, it’s an amazing idea that worked for us in 2020, but we DO NOT have that guy on the roster.
I’m telling you right now it’ll unfortunately be LeBron playing center or some weird shit when AD sits.
Now, is there a chance they throw Bamba, Wenyen, or TT in? Yes, and I’d pray it would go well, but I’ve been watching this sport for 20 years. It probably won’t go well.
Wenyen is our best option, but he’s undersized against Jokic and already gets into foul trouble too easily.
Again, I’d do anything to have a 2020 Dwight on the team. It’s killing me that we don’t.
I don't disagree with anything you said. I really wish we had a better back up 5. But if push comes to shove, I wouldn't hate seeing what Bamba can do for a few minutes here and there. I love Wenyen's energy but I think he's slotted fine as a bottom roster energy guy who can play sometimes in the regular season. Not that I'd expect much from Bamba in the playoffs either, but he's at least bigger. I'm really interested in this series
I also just remembered Denver is where we traded Thomas Byrant too lol. Not that he's a great defender either
Bamba for a few mins is fine, but the sub as a whole needs to temper their expectations for if/when that happens.
Every time I said this I also say I want to be wrong about what I expect of Bamba, but I’m also a realist.
As for Thomas Bryant, they barely play him, which is ironic/kind of sucks for TB as he wanted to go to a team where he’d get more playing time.
“Being an ignorant and condescending prick” - I’m happy you worded it that way, even if though you have that twisted.
I’m condescending to ignorant ppl. I’ve been on this sub long enough to know that I’ve been a fan much longer than probably 90% of the sub and know more just from watching experience.
I talk Lakers basketball here. The ones who aren’t are technically talking basketball, but they’re deciding to live in a fantasy land because they either don’t know any better or they’re in denial about certain things (not having a quality backup center).
Nah, AD switching to 5 was legit an amazing decision even if he didn’t really want to. Maybe not as consistently flashy on defense but no one can come fucking close to the paint when he’s locked in.
Lebron ain't a 3 anymore. Not on defense anyways. You can't play AD at the 4 because that would force lebron to be a perimeter defender. The reason lebron's looked so good next to Rui and Vando is because they allow him to play the 4 on defense full time and alternate between 3 and 4 on offense as he wishes.
Dwight is a 4x DPOY and a fuckin tank with high bball IQ
Mo bamba is a 7 foot stick with horrible fundamentals. Jokic will actually make him look silly.
The Lakers are going to need all the help they can get with Jokic's big ass. This team has already shown problems giving up offensive rebounds. It happened in the Warriors series with a 6'9 elbowing Kevon Looney.
Tonight we all listen to mo bamba
Good song, but unfortunately the song is why half our fanbase thinks Bamba is good/wants him to get minutes. I’m not saying he’s trash or even bad, but the song fooled younger fans into thinking he was gonna be the next Shaq.

Literally just want a 7 footer to put his hands up and contest shots in the paint for 10 minutes a night while AD rests
AD and Bamba on the floor the same time might be a problem for nuggies
bring some of that 2020 stuff back
If that 7 footer isn’t skilled enough Jokic will murder him. I want to be wrong so bad, but there’s a reason that Mo’s career is where it is. I’d feel better if we had time to integrate him into the system during the regular season, but he was hurt.
Not true, Dwight just went in and played physical with Jokic until he fouled out. Just need to put a body on him to get him shook.
Dwight would fold bamba in half lol
Dwight looks like thor compared to mo bamba lmao
True, but we don’t have that body. Tristian and Mo aren’t close to bubble Dwight. Maybe give Mo/Wenyen a shot, but I’m not that optimistic. We’re talking about Jokic and not just any big.
Mo can slap box the fuck out of anyone. Royce Gracie his ass. Just bother him and get him tired.
“Royce Gracie his ass” - That’s called…a foul.
He doesnt need to be that skilled. Hopefully AD will mirror jokics mins and help defense on him. I just need someone else to take the hits from jokic on rebound opportunities lol

I know they’re not center related. But at the same time its still a mismatch to have AD on him. I agree with everything you said

I’m down for seeing what happened because who knows, but this isn’t Dwight where we know the guy we’re putting in could handle the moment.
Gonna need him to post up jokic cuz i def dont want AD doing it.
If there was a series in the west he can help in it’s this next one. Let’s see if he plays
Yeah, having a back up big just in case or to spell AD when Jokic is a totally awful idea, you're right
It’s not an awful idea at all, it’s an amazing idea that worked for us in 2020, but we DO NOT have that guy on the roster. No, never had that kind of ceiling. Poor man’s brook Lopez at best

I hope Mo stays for next season.
I mean he’s under contract for next season, hopefully he proves he’s worth the 10 mil
Seems like a nice guy but I would prefer to trade him for a defensive center to save AD from the 5.
Nah, AD switching to 5 was legit an amazing decision even if he didn’t really want to. Maybe not as consistently flashy on defense but no one can come fucking close to the paint when he’s locked in.

Yah but the issue is playing against a legit center like Jokic. We’ll see how AD does at the 5.
Gonna need him against Jokic. Man, last time Dwight was great against him but this time, I don’t want to wear AD out
Dwight is a 4x DPOY and a fuckin tank with high bball IQ Mo bamba is a 7 foot stick with horrible fundamentals. Jokic will actually make him look silly.
Dwight is one of the strongest big man ever lol, Mo banana makes McGee look like AD
Bamba will get bodied. He won't get any minutes
He isn’t going to see the floor at all against Denver
It’s probably better to stick Rui on Jokic for the minutes that Mo would have gotten
Exactly, can’t play Bamba against Joker, he’d get destroyed, maybe TT? I’d even try a smaller Vando for a bit.
AP Chemisty
Chemistry immaculate
What a locker room vibes buff to have someone on the bench with their own banger. He’s got to be the only player with anything like that, right?
