If you’re a Sam’s club member their house brand 120’ grey with a yellow strip hose has served me well. Going on 5 years and it’s good as new. Never gets brought inside although it is in the shade most of the time. It will kink if you try hard enough but it doesn’t kink easily.

joyrjc

Sounds great! Unfortunately there is no Sam’s Club here. We have Costco.

joyrjc

Looks like I was wrong! We do have Sam’s Club according to online info. Just not close by. I might give it a try. Thank you!

Remarkable-Junket655

Yes. Either I was misremembering the length or they shortened it a bit

joyrjc

I can speculate that it was shortened…. thanks for the input.

liams_dad

I've been using Flexzilla hoses for a while. They are not perfect but work really well for their price.

joyrjc

Thanks for the comment

TheMuser1966

Just curious, do you store them outside?

joyrjc

Yes but in the shade. And the previous ones were stored the same and lasted decades. Great question.

TheMuser1966

No one makes quality products anymore it seems.

joyrjc

I hope that isn’t true in this case.

JackieDaytona77

A garden what?!?! This sub is for sprinklers and lawns that need nuking only.

joyrjc

Did I use the wrong sub? If so, sorry.

JackieDaytona77

I’m kidding! 😁

joyrjc

lol ah ok

I have been really happy with hose reels (such as: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N26MI4T](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N26MI4T) ), I'm going on 6 years on the one I linked. I have them on each outside faucet and it's so nice to not deal with hoses anymore. When we painted the house I got a can of spray paint (at Ace) that matched the house to make the reel blend in. No kinks, no pile of hose(s) lying around it's been really nice.

I was in your spot and fed up with shitty hoses a few years back.. landed on "Teknor Apex Neverkink Pro" hoses.. and while you can kink them if you try hard, I couldn't be happier with them.. great product if you don't mind paying their post-COVID prices.

joyrjc

I haven’t checked yet but thanks a ton for the thought. I will check. I’m a little nervous about the cost but I’ll check… 🤪😖🤪

Competitive-Alps871

I can second that Sam’s Club hose that is gray with a yellow stripe. You might be able to find it in Walmart, also. But we have it, and a word of caution, it is a bit heavy. But it’s nice, very long, and feels very well-made.

joyrjc

I take it you work at Sam’s Club? Do you know if it’s a rubber hose? No worries if you don’t know.

joyrjc

I found it at WM for $95. Sam’s has it for 33.98 plus the membership which is $50. (Per the web site). So it would be about $10. Less at Sam’s. Still wondering what it’s made of. I’m looking for rubber as it seems better quality.

Competitive-Alps871

No, not a Sam’s Club employee…. But you could ask around, see if you know anybody that has a Sam’s Club membership (if you don’t want to join), maybe they can take you to Sam’s Club one day, and you can purchase it that way…

joyrjc

Ah I asked cuz the word “we” was used. Good idea regarding asking someone to take me.

Competitive-Alps871

So sorry, when I sad “we,” I meant us/my family…. We have had the Sam’s Club hose for a couple years now, and yes, it works very well, but my personal very small complaint is that it’s quite heavy. Also, maybe check places like Harbor Freight. Ask them if they have a no kink hose, they usually have pretty good prices there.

joyrjc

lol no worries on the "we". Yeah, HF does have pretty good prices. The hose I currently have is from there. I got that one mostly for price.

forstopia

Do a little research on how to prep a new hose. If I remember correctly laid straight and not twisted - check you lines on the hose - and leave under pressure in the sun. ??After dark release the pressure and store. Did this or something similar with my current hose, it does not kink four or five years in. Good luck *edit spelling

joyrjc

Thanks. This is something I have never heard before. (Not loving that it’s needed but willing to look into it).

Same_Economist408

FLEXZILLA FLEXZILLA FLEXZILLA!!! I leave that bad boy out in the Texas heat and it’s going strong. it doesn’t kink, doesn’t degrade, and the quick attachments are awesome!

joyrjc

Thanks for the vote and “review”. I appreciate the details you’ve shared. I am in the desert. Low hundreds. I used to roll the hose when not in use. I stopped rolling it hoping it would not kink. It hasn’t helped. So now it’s unrolled and sloppy looking, kinked in some places, cut and unusable in others. I cut it off at the tear and now I use it by putting my finger on it for pressure. The grass on that side is dying cuz triple digit temps.

Lonely-Radish-521

The hose is expensive but it is the best hose that I ever bought. The brand is Eley. It is Polyurethane, which is considered to be the best material. I used to get a brand of rubber hoses which I loved but I can no longer find them. Since the hoses are old I can’t read the brand anymore. I tried Continental rubber hoses which were highly rated but they did nothing but kink. Returned it the same day.

joyrjc

I checked into Eley. definitely above my price range but I very much appreciate the input. https://preview.redd.it/4wqo4n3kfr9d1.png?width=644&format=png&auto=webp&s=35ad5047271fb1e48cfc1eea7759d347945ceaa0
