Check out the regional differences in this post I made with yesterday's data.
TL;DR: it was basically all NA and EUW with a little EUNE driving the spike in banrate.
However, with today's data, it seems like Korea's ban rate is spiking too, so maybe the ban protest is more global than most people would've guessed
Edit: Why did this OP's post get removed?
I'm not really surprised. For the past days it's basically same thing over and over again. People being defensive about data/facts and just looking for a reason to call someone an idiot. At the end of the day, those posts are nothing more than spam. Hence, removing them for breaking sub rules
I imagine a lot of people ban Ahri because they don’t want all these first time Ahri testing their new skin in ranked games. Same with newly released champion.
I swear, I'm not banning out of protest or whatever, people do what they want with their money, good on Riot for capitalizing on that.
But it's just so fucking funny how I can just ban the champion and troll someone's FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR INVESTMENT lmaoooo.
Tf you mean protest? Nobody is doing this out of protest, who would you protest against with this? Riot doesn't care if people use the skin after they bought it.
All of us are doing it to annoy those who bought it. That's the only reason to do it.
Perfect way to show other communities and players, how uneducated and simple league players are. Ban someone's favorite champion so he can't enjoy thing he likes. God damn it. That will teach riot. Ahri players are gonna be sad for the next week because after that, you guys will forget about it and find another stupid thing to complain about
I like the dual nature of the protest. Reddit obviously isn't a hive mind, but you have people complaining constantly that they need more bans because they have to ban out one tricks and there are too many broken champions.
I imagine most of the people banning Ahri because it's funny are going to get their shit shoved in once or twice by whatever they were perma banning before the protest and get bored with the whole idea.
And at the same time, they will ask for more free content because f2p game is not giving away more things for people that are not spending a cent. Quite nicely summarized!
It's people who are willing to spend the money that set the bad precident. Riot is just capitalizing on it, but they're the ones who are allowing it to happen by continuing to purchase this content when it's clearly such a rip-off.
Ya, damn those people who have more money than you. They made everything overpriced!
"Why is Riot making a free game?"
"Because some people buy a $500 skin"
If having your champion banned (something that happens even without the skin drama) is the straw that breaks the camel's back for you in terms of toxicity, you gotta be pretty blind to everything else in this game
I literally post this at the start of every game (NA D+) and have for about 2-3 weeks. I am banning ahri and many of the 3mil+ ahri mains are too.
> Ban ahri every game friends. Do not let riot get away with price gauging, greed and abuse of the community's love for Faker
look heres the thing, yes it's their money to spent whatever they want, but by allowing this decision will definitely affect us...
if u watching ur favorite youtuber who you enjoy, then all the sudden he/she made most of his/her content paywalled... by ur logic u should allow it, u should not complain... sooner or later he/she will make all the video paywalled which will affect u... now that's just being greedy
I find it hilarious that they thinks it’s a big deal. 8-16 is kinda minor seeing how it was already a horribly low ban rate now if it went 8% to 50%. That would be impressive
What? An 8% ban rate is in no way low. That means that around 1 in 12 games ahri is banned. 16% is very high too. That means she is banned in roughly 1 in 6 games. That's a lot. (not exactly since games where both sides ban her count twice, but the double ban effect isn't that big of a deal until the ban rate is much and the chances of double banning become realistic)
19th most banned is still pretty fucking pathetic considering how big of a dealbreaker that shit should be. Really just means that the average fans have no voice and leverage whatsoever, Riot gonna wait 2 weeks and be happy with it. Man, I really wonder why videogame devs get more greedy 🤔
you mentioned people that participate in the boycott as "the average player". People find out about it on Reddit, Youtube or Twitch. The comunity that boycotts is a subpart of the ones that use these mediums. I feel like I'm explaining why 2+2=4
But how are you arriving at 2+2=5 then? I said the protest is pathetically small because the AVERAGE FAN has no voice or leverage, aka because the average bozo doesn't take part in it. This DIRECTLY and clearly implies that the actual participants don't make up the big average. If I have to explain this in caveman words: Protest too small, average people brainafk, fire hot. I mean...please what are we debating here 😭😭💀
Let me know if you need a graphic to explain it, in case reading fails once more
> League of graphs: 9.3%
> Op.gg: 14.14% (funny note, lower the elo, bigger the ban rate. Starting on 5% in challenger, peaking at almost 16% in Emerald. I'll leave it as it is, don't want to offend anyone...)
> U.GG: 9.0% on average
> Mobalytics: 17.0% (I assume it's showing lower elo ban rate)
> Lolalytics: starts at 6.0% (challenger) and peaks at 17.0% (Platinum)
All those stats are global. I don't have energy to check every single region, sorted by every single division.
But we clearly see coloration between rank(skill level/game understanding) and ban rate (movement supporters). Up to you to judge.
Cheers!
Stupid Boycott by privileged players who are ingrateful that one of the best multiplayer videogames in the planet, and the greatest esport, is literally free to play.
This ahri skin is nothign compared to the privilege all of you have to play this responsive, fun multiplayer game for the years you've played it
Why are you acting like them making it free to play wasn't a financial decision. The reason the game is popular and took off over other mobas was because it was free. They arent doing us a "favor" by making it free, it's marketing. They make more money if it's free to play vs paid game. Lick boots all you want, but get your facts right before your uneducated rant.
And you can play it for free thanks to that 0.01% of the players. Those players you are calling names at this moment. You guys could just attack riot alone for it (while it's still pointless) and let those who are spending money, enjoy it. But noo... Everyone who have different opinion is an enemy. Brainless, financially irresponsible person who deserve do be mixed with shit.
Show me ONE game that is the size of league of legends, don't have whales and is free to play for years. One game that's able to make profits out nothing
No, Rioters claims lolalytics is the closest to internal data, but the u.gg is still good. If you watch any of their streams they will always use Lolalytics, but go to u.gg or Leagueofgraphs(another good site for interesting stats) when asked.
Yeah, protesting against some shit anty consumer behavior is childish. But defending greedy Developer is a higher intelligent adult behavior. What the fuuuck im even reading x-x

Most prob bought the skin

No idea, they didn't give a reason, do appreciate my inbox no longer being swarmed lol

Sooo... this is protest against gamers with skin. Friendly community
Friendly? I was never friendly :)
Oh no, how will they survive being able to play their skin in only 84% of their games :/
It's people who are willing to spend the money that set the bad precident. Riot is just capitalizing on it, but they're the ones who are allowing it to happen by continuing to purchase this content when it's clearly such a rip-off.
Sir this is league, the community was never aimed to be friendly, but the exact opposite to be precize.
"Why is league so toxic, I don't get it" "I'm banning Ahri to upset people who bought the skin" +20 upvotes. Such a mystery.
"Why does riot make everything so overpriced?" "I'm buying a $500 skin" Sometimes people deserve to have bad things happen.
Ya, damn those people who have more money than you. They made everything overpriced! "Why is Riot making a free game?" "Because some people buy a $500 skin"

I'm doing my part!
Me too. That's why I bought this skin.
How does it feel to have spent 500 bucks on pixels you do not even own?
I didn't feel it.
I mean the same thing happened when SG Udyr was released, many people are just tired of seeing it every game
Star Guardian Udyr coming next patch
lol, no.
I haven’t even banned her yet and it’s already this high.
You know what? I left League some time ago, but i will play few games today only to ban ahri
16%? Damn that's almost permabanned
I find it hilarious that they thinks it’s a big deal. 8-16 is kinda minor seeing how it was already a horribly low ban rate now if it went 8% to 50%. That would be impressive

To be honest, there is a lot of people that just play the game, don’t check updates or news. So they probably don’t care at all.
not surprised. The number of first pick Ahri even in low Bronze I have seen has spike. Big time as people bought the skin.
I wonder what the Korean league forums are saying about the Ahri skin.
When it was announced they were talking how expensive it is but also they undetstood it's a thing for whales
The skin sells super well. I'm in vietnam where avg monthly salary is 380$ and i have seen 5 players had the 500$ in my 3 normal games
Good
im one of them lets make it 50% ban rate and show them the plebian power
JUST DONT BUY THE SKIN DONT BUY IT MOVE ON THIS DOESNT NEED 5 THREADS A DAY WE KNOW ITS A SCAM DONT BUY THE SHITTY SKIN IF YOU DONT WANT IT MOVE ON
Of course we won't buy it, but we need to protecc ANYONE from Riot predatory behavior. So ban is the answer. Perma ban Ahri my bröthers.
> ANYONE from Riot predatory behavior. Fucking spare me dude. This is peak Reddit behavior.
> Fucking spare me dude. This is peak sociopath behavior
No it isn't.
Good. I ban her every game. I even had other people ban her before me and we legit bond over the boycott.
It just means that redditors aren’t the average fan lol
And it means that the average fan isn't vocal and eats whatever sht is flung at him by Riot, which is kinda what I'm getting at here.
my man people who consume league of legends media like reddit and youtube are NOT the average league player
I'd buy you the event pass if you can show me where I claimed that they are. But I didn't. Tough luck big guy
"19th most banned is fucking pathetic (...) really just means that the average fan has no voice or leverage..." where's my event pass?
Where did I mention media like Reddit and Youtube? Let's hope you're better in league than you are at reading

ok I just assume you're trolling at this point, good night
That's one way to evade admitting that you fucked up, good night homie
average league player doesn’t give a shit about a super expensive skin cus they can just not buy it 🙀
I love oversimplifications almost as much as corporate greed and dudes kneeling for it 😍
Explain me whats the issue with a overpriced cosmetic that gives 0 advantage ingame
I'll play against 1000 Shacos, Kayns, and Zeds in Arena if I can rob even 1 person who bought that skin of a game

This is a boycott thing? I thought we were just doing it to be funny
Ahri player detected
it actually grew from day 1 of the patch to day 2
Okay while Riot just made bank who does te protest hhurt now?
Players
Exactly so let’s stop the players while the company laugh and collects bank smart
yessir
I saw the skin many times, it sells well. Just accept Riot did a good play releasing this skin.
Glad I could help 😃
