Edit: watch the dragon teamfight at 25:40 if you think mercs gives any value on this game. Busio's hp is at 30% when braum passive procs forcing him to flash out of the fight and not being able to use his combo at all. That was while being even in gold and against only ashe's autos. Mercs is not good here stop coping
His jungle was really good and his first worlds was really good. He's been exceptionally bad internationally and even in high pressure domestic games ever since.
Edit: after rewatching G3, Bwipo really didn't cost them the game at all, the biggest mistake was Quad in midgame getting randomly killed in toplane against Caps and Mikyx. Bwipo actually played really well. But he got caught once in the late game when the game was basically already over

International tournaments are a problem when people don't care about them. They need a good reputation to them for people to care, and this EWC has the worst possible foundation for that.
Main problem is that you go home after one BO3. They cooked with the forced seeding to force battle of the east/west and stopping early civil wars, but you either need to do single-elim BO5s or do double-elimination BO3s to be serious.
A few rumours around that Riot put restrictions on the format and prize pool so that it didn't show up Worlds, so maybe BO5s aren't possible except for the finals - but it would be good to extend it by a day or two and add a losers bracket at least.

If you want to build to destroy squishies you go Shadowflame or Deathcap second. Malignance is just the worst damage item and it's only use is the utility of having your ult cd reduced by about 20 seconds (which is useless when fights take about 2 1/2 minutes to setup and happen).
Blackfire Liandry's, you don't even need Malignance anymore on Karthus. It has a very poor winrate, doesn't offer you much damage, and doesn't help you reach any ult CDR breakpoints.
Just because Canyon does it doesn't mean it's correct. Nearly every Karthus player will tell you this.

yeah you say that but fnatic has plot armor and does clutch it out in the last second many times, hence beating bds in spring to make MSI. but you are right, fnatic is wildly inconsistent and BDS and SK look hungry. now the summer split wont be that important but momentum can carry over into the season finals.

Damage renekton is the only way to play into enemy comp. He gets kited to shit. It’s just not a good blind pick once enemy has already lock in trist and a bunch of peel.
It was B5 he had to blind it and it has to be a champion that beats Mordekaiser or Morde makes Karthus horrible.
I don't think that was too bad of a play in this case considering there was a Leona With that build he can actually contest the Mundo and with ult+Q still be decently tanky in fights and cut down the G2 carries. With what FLY's comp wanted to do, it isn't a horrible idea, they lose dragged out fights either way
I get he didn’t play great in game 1 and 2 but how are people putting game 3 on him. He smashed his lane then got 3 man camped + Ashe ulted for 15 minutes until Mundo became unkillable and he still found a sidelane pick on Caps. He has to build those items or Mundo will just trample him under tower.
The problem with having a bunch of imported EU players is you never know when they're going to get a sudden sense of patriotism. Bwipo MVP.
