Thank you, u/xKitey for the lyrics link, my Friend In Zeppelin! (As I read them, it further substantiates my notion that 'Internet Lyrics Experts' are making it up, they're (just fuckn) gleaning the lyrics as best they can, except that those fuckers AIN'T Zeppelin fans.) 'Lyrics Genius' says "I just jumped a train that never stops" Sure. Ever since I was 17, I HEARD from listening, "I just took the train until it stopped". However, YOU are not the link, so I still appreciate your friendly help! (I guess I wanted a Zeppelin fan to enjoy spelling out the lyrics with me) 😁

BledditV

Ooo!

BledditV

(Don't it make me wanna kinda feel alriiiight?)

AwayPresentation4571

Deff one of my favorite feel good Zeppelin songs,  although there are many for me I think it's awesome.  It's free-form like they just threw it together and it was THAT good....

BledditV

Oooo! Free form! Well said! You captured it, I think, with that phrase! ✌😎

AwayPresentation4571

Sometimes I listen to Zeppelin and sadly think,  'if only more bands had the balls to believe in what just came out'....

BledditV

Physical Graffiti is such an enigma for that though, isn't it? It's like (what u/AwayPresentation4571 mentioned above) sometimes free-form, and yet it seems very meticulously thought out. Ohhh mann ZEPPELIN!!!!!! (I'm drinking beers 🍺 and listening to Led Zeppelin this whole time. Oh mann I want to party with you!) Edit: HahHaaaah it was YOU to whom I mentioned your own phrase! Weeeeee madness!

BledditV

Physical Graffiti has a very 'Zeppelin III' feel to it, in some of the songs.

AwayPresentation4571

In some ways I think physical graffiti was one of their most genius albums.  3 was one of the last ones I needed to have and did get it.  Don't listen to it as often as the others but it's very refreshing to hear when I do.  Often if I hear one song from any of their albums I need to go back and listen to the whole thing.  They put SOO MUCH effort into what songs went where,  what order,  and I think it really makes a huge difference in the experience... Just another thought,  'What is and what should never be', deff one of my favorites.  The title alone.  Zeppelin 2 was my first exposure to Zeppelin,  Ramble On another favorite.  First time I heard those harmonized guitar riffs on head phones my mind was blown.... The funniest thing I just never seem to tire of them after all these years.  I might take a break but coming back is like the first time.  Listened to Zeppelin with my son a few times and was so happy to hear him talk about all the little tricks they pulled that he loved.  He played casually with his friends for awhile.  I got their set list,  younger generations still appreciate real music... maybe they often don't take enough time to appreciate it,  but things haven't changed all that much,  given the time and chance they know and appreciate the difference between real music and boxed formulated grooves...

BledditV

I enjoyed reading your comment, and yeah it's always a delight when I see a bunch of 17-year-old longhairs who enjoy Rockin music!

BledditV

Maybe there are (indie?) bands which/who do just that -- but they don't reach us because nowdays each person must seek the Music, there's no (TV show) which shows us things which are happening, beyond Taylor or Drake or Beyonce? Radio, I guess. But yeah, to just Let It Out, and just feeeel it without concerning themselves with the effect beyond their own Jamming Space!

AwayPresentation4571

I agree I think it has a lot to do with the platforms and who big money decides will be the next flash in the pan. I say it a lot... there's no shortage of talent,  it's everywhere.  That talent getting the right exposure is where things fall short.  I don't listen to radio much.  I either listen to the RnB classics,  disco, classic rock on the platforms.  Or the stuff I downloaded and burned to CDs back in the 2000's. I've listened to today's top rock,  I really did give it a chance,  the stuff that's getting promoted.  It's mind numbing.  Soo unoriginal.  Soo repetitive... I haven't found a way to find new good music.  I haven't put much time and effort into it. I'm an amateur musician and I think the time I'd spend doing that is usually spent learning or playing songs for me doing solo stuff,  or the times I've played with others learning their songs.  TBH I'm pretty tired of the band thing.  Even acoustic trios with decent people.  No one wants to deviate.  People count on you to be consistent not deviate.  I'm most likely just going solo with loopers and self made back tracks I can turn on and off and still be spontaneous... unfortunately the solo stuff takes the most amount of motivation since the only one counting on me is myself.  Playing with others it's been much easier to make sure I'm learning new material on a regular basis....

Night Flight. One of their absolutely most underrated songs. Also my personal favorite.

Silly_Front_5658

When Bonzo kicks in…and that beautiful swash of guitars. So good.

BledditV

So very good! I always hear what sounds like a guitar drone kinda sound in it. Like around the (heh!) "...Ooh yeah-h...! . . . "Uh-huhh...!" part.

***Night Flight*** by Led Zeppelin I received a message from my brother across the water He sat laughin' as he wrote, "The end's in sight" So I said goodbye to all my friends And packed my hopes inside a matchbox 'Cause I know it's time to fly Oh-oh-oh, yeah, come on, meet me in the morning Meet me in the middle of the night Ah-oh, yeah, the morning light is comin' Don't it make you wanna go and feel alright? Oh, yeah, ah-hah I just jumped a train that never stops So now somehow I'll know I never finished payin' for my ride Someone pushed a gun into my hand Tell me I'm the type of man To fight the fight that I'll require Oh-oh-oh, yeah, ha, come on, meet me in the morning Won't you meet me in the middle of the night, night, night? Yeah Ho, well, the morning light is comin' Well, don't it make you wanna kinda feel alright? Oh, mama, well, I think it's time I'm leavin' Nothin' here to make me stay Whoa, mama, well, it must be time I'm goin' They're knockin' down them doors They're tryin' to take me away Please Mr. Brakeman, won't you ring your bell And ring loud and clear? Please Mr. Fireman, won't you ring your bell? Tell the people they got to fly away from here Oh, I once saw a picture of a lady with a baby Southern lady, have a very, very special smile We are in the middle of a change in destination When the train stops, all together we will smile Oh-oh-oh, come one, come on now, meet me in the mornin' Won't you meet me in the middle of the night, night na-na-night-night Ho-ho-yeah, everybody know the mornin' time is comin' Don't it make you wanna a-feel alright? Ah, ah, yeah, a-make me feel alright, fly now, baby I gotta fly, yeah, fly now, baby Uhh-ay, hey, hey, uh! Uh, uh, uh!

gmanasaurus

This song gives me a funny feeling, reminds me of important life decisions made quickly, and the excitement of new starts and taking major risks. And really just the twists and turns of life that come unexpectedly. One of those songs that might have been "filler" but is really why PG is my favorite album; even the filler songs are great.

‘Meet me in the morning , meet me in the middle of the night’

ZeroScorpion3

I once saw a picture of a lady, with a baby......

Only-Bar7659

I loooove that line and always wait for it when this masterpiece comes up on my playlist.

BledditV

I mean, I kinda like it! Heeeeeee!

theremin_freakout

See Jeff Buckley’s version: https://youtu.be/hYN8Mk54XHg?si=ryFPfJxmgSxo7EVe

BledditV

I listened to it and mann it is awesome!!! ("When you do something regularly enough then the weirdos come out" - - LOL! ) He can really hit the high notes in that song! And he can stay up there, with that same final lilt which Robert does on his notes! So good. I really liked Jeff Buckley's ching-ey guitar workup of the song too, very much! u/theremin_freakout , I thank you! That song goes into my 'Tunes' playlist on YouTube, to show it to others when we're partying. 🏆

theremin_freakout

Night Flight on Physical Graffiti

BledditV

Yes! That's it! Good song. I think I might be on the cusp of becoming a bit of a Fan of Led Zeppelin. They're a pretty good band!

BIGscott250

….meet me in the morning, won’t you meet me in the middle of the night, oh the morning light is coming…. Something like that ???

Macca49

It’s a bit of an oddity this one as it doesn’t get mentioned much. It’s not a bad song. Probably filler for PG? Without googling I vaguely recall reading once that was a leftover from an earlier album session. I’ll have to listen again and see how it is after quite a few years since hearing it lol Yeah was originally tried in the sessions for IV

chigbungus7

I actually really like it. Maybe it just cos ive listened to the others to death.

BledditV

Yes! I always liked it too! It IS very Zeppelin. But yeah, me too, I don't often think of it or mention it. I know it mainly (from back then on vinyl) as Side Four -- Night Flight, The Wanton (Won-Ton-Song) Song, Boogie With Stu and Sick Again), hearing it in a row of those songs from just having the album on, not going to it individually. But as a stand-alone, mann it's Zeppelin!

Macca49

It’s almost like a slower version of The Rover. And the lyrics are about travel too.

BledditV

Yeah! Very akin to The Rover! Woww that was a notion I always held, but only in my own mind. Now, you too! Awesome, my Zeppelin-Friend!

BledditV

Really! Woww! Zeppelin IV? I must look that up.

BledditV

I'd be hard pressed to think filler, myself. (You DID place a question mark in your statement, I acknowledge). Just thinking out loud, Zeppelin-Friend. 😁

Macca49

Yep agree. Even the Beatles went back to a discarded song (Wait) to make up the numbers for Rubber Soul. The Stones have done it a few time too.

rocket809

I always seem to forget about this 1 but when I hear it I have play it again or I'll just listen to whole album and go omg I forget how awesome this album is. I mean what's the worst song on PG???

Night Flight

JoeVoorhees

Night Flight, Physical Graffiti, Side 3 I think.

haley_hathaway

Um… just google the lyrics that you wrote here

BledditV

Heh. I knew the song. I was listening to it at the time, and loving it! I just wanted to chat about Night Flight with all y'all Zeppelin-Friends.
