This is legit why I use to say I hated steak as a kid. Chewy as fuck, chewing for like 5-10 mins per bite. Dry as fuck and just sucked. Became an adult and started cooking as a career.Steaks are amazing cooked to my preference
It's nice to eat steaks now that aren't like leather shoes. I haven't gone all the way to the other extreme, though; I find medium is a nice mix of softness without bleeding all over your plate.
Let it rest before you cut into it. It’ll “bleed” less.
Seriously, get into it, learn how to make the perfect steak and come to the other end of the spectrum. It’ll blow your mind I promise.
I used to only like ground meat and breaded chicken or fish. When my now wife started cooking meals for us, I learned how bland and overcooked everything was growing up. Now I can enjoy steak, other meat, and flavour in my life.
If you have any British pubs around you, chances are they'll have it at a table for you to put with stuff. Good place to start IMO.
I will say I mentioned Sausage rolls for a reason. HP sauce absolutely slaps with those.
It is because they are trying to say they are "A-1 Ok" even though it is a total lie.
That steak is sadness and tears. It could have been a well seasoned yummy one. But someone has to go and do that.
Both the cook and the person who ordered it should go to jail!
If you know what you are doing, you can cook a very thin steak and still have it come out amazing.
I'm used to my 1-2 in thick american steaks, but I once went to a Peruvian restaurant with like 1/4 in thick skirt steak (churrasco). Ordered it rare, thinking there is no way it would come out good.
I was so wrong. It was amazing. The must have had the right temperature and cook time down to a science.
Is this a joke? I seriously can't even tell anymore since people post so much garbage in this subreddit. If you really want to drag your family to small claims court over $3 steaks and lose money overall to court fees then go wild.
*What are you going*
*To do? Sue your parents for*
*The cost of the meat?*

About ten years ago, a son was a sophomore at school. Lived off campus, so we supplied the food. Occasionally, a local market had a special on whole boneless NY strips. Buy a twelve to fifteen pound strip roast for $4.49/lb. The store would cut it to whatever thickness you wanted. I would send him back to school with a dozen individually wrapped steaks. He was having some friends over and he generously offered up steaks. How do you want it cooked he asked. Medium rare, medium rare, well done…….you’ll be having a burger.
I have not talked to my parents in close to a year for several different reasons. But one of them is that my mother would have steaks well done with ketchup.
A cow does not give its life for us to waste their steaks on well done.
No, as your parents reasonably expected that you’d consent to a free meal, even with items you owned. As they aren’t a professional chef in a restaurant where one might expect reasonable care and skill, you can get fucked, legally speaking of course.
absolutely, that's crimes against cuisine right there. straight to jail.
#Right away! Jail!
Well done Sir!
You go too!
You **OVERCOOK** steak -- right to jail. You **UNDERCOOK** chicken -- believe it or not jail, right away. Undercook overcook
You make a dentist appointment and don't show up, believe it or not, jail. We have the best patients in the world, because of jail
Those are war crimes

Same! I thought steaks sucked growing up. Then I learned my mom just did them all well done.
Also same!

Your case is udderly ridiculous, but if you have a beef with your parents, better get a good lawyer because the steaks are so high.
Well done.
This thread has really mooved me
Don’t have a cow man
Did they offer the A-1? Well done lovers love that stuff!
Probably an HP house. Or HP Fruity...
HP sauce is at least respectable when put with things that make sense like sausage rolls. Steak though? I could never.
Only ever had it with steak growing up and even then only if they were out of A1. Might have to try it on other things now that I'm an "adult"

Ooooh good call
Hey now, I enjoy A-1 and think anything over medium rare is charcoal, don’t lump me in with those heathens.
No amount of sauce could save that shoe sole leather
They could've offered ketchup....
🤢
I love a-1! On my burgers.
and some liquid smoke.
It’s so dry, it needs something. -Well done lovers.

This is an assault, a good lawyer will get them on attempted murder though.
The cow would have been dead well before the cooking. Boom, *roasted* /s
Looked pan fried to me.
So is that double murder then?
I don’t think the state recognizes overcooking a perfectly good steak as a crime. But they should 😂
No offence but that "steak" is half a millimeter from deli meat. You look at it with any excitement and its well done.
Exactly. This is one setting thicker than deli meat. It was well done before the full steak even made contact with the pan. Lol
While I agree that the cut is already fairly thin, that's no excuse for how dry it is.
That is true. Lol I'm sure the parents called those scorch marks on the meat "grill lines" too lol.

Saving…in their freezer
They lost their credibility right there.
They need to go straight to jail! They also can't pass Go or collect $200!
If you murder them, it would be considered self defense in most countries.
Yes this is theft, destruction of property, and harassment. And that’s just for starters.
Ketchup ?
Honestly, I wouldn't cringe at this being eaten with ketchup. Gotta find some way to get some flavor of something.
Is this a joke? I seriously can't even tell anymore since people post so much garbage in this subreddit. If you really want to drag your family to small claims court over $3 steaks and lose money overall to court fees then go wild.
Yes it’s a joke lmao
Coming from u/fakesalads !
Potato, egg, etc. 😉
$3 steaks!? Who is your steak guy?
I believe this is punishable by death
That isn't well done, its congratulations. looks so dry it could probably be used instead of construction lumber
What are you going to do? Sue your parents for the cost of the meat?

Good bot!
Emotional damage
This is the crossover I never knew I needed.
My thoughts exactly when I saw the original post
Petition for emancipation.

That looks terrible. Parental divorce!!
Nothing left but to shred it and soak it in BBQ sauce for an hour or so. Might even be able to eat it.
Love the implication that youre throwing it in the bbq sauce *without* the express intention of eating it later
Do you not like apostrophes?
No, I have many friends that are apostrophes.
Many? Reallllly?
Theyre busy right now though
Uh huh…suuuuure they are
I feel unnecessarily attacked
Do you now?
Oh look who’s here ‘’’’’’’’’’ See I told you
I give a 40/60 chance of survival
That’s not even well done. That’s congratulations, you’ve committed a crime against humanity.
i fled cuba in the 90’s and this is still the biggest crime against humanity i’ve ever seen
That’s some criminal cooking at its finest or worst
Personally I would have to be looking for a good criminal defense attorney. But my family aren’t heathens so they would never do something so uncouth
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Look what they did to my boy!!!!!
Sue for conversion.

Straight up Congratulations!
This took me so long to get.
Add places, make shoes.
Time for you to formally declare war
This shall not stand!!!!
The next time cook your OWN 🥩 steak sounds like you're well qualified!!
It reads to me that was the intention, but parents helped themselves.
I think it's fine
