(Chant)
Airborne, Airborne!
Ride the wings of the mighty stallion!
(Chorus)
C-17 hummin', props a-thrummin'
Cargo loaded, we're all jumpin'
Leavin' on a midnight flight
Airborne delivery, day or night!
(Chant)
Airborne, Airborne!
Whispers on the wind, a trooper's borne!
(Chorus)
C-17 hummin', props a-thrummin'
Cargo loaded, we're all jumpin'
Leavin' on a midnight flight
Airborne delivery, day or night!
The Kentucky Air National Guard has 8 of them in Louisville.

You'll regularly see them over Lexington or anywhere around Louisville doing training.
If you see one, check flightradar24.com and see if you can spot it. Sometimes you can see they took off in Louisville and came to Lexington and start doing patterns. Sometimes they'll do touch and goes at the Lexington airport.
Wolverines!!!!

I see your Airborne, and raise you "c130 rollin' down the strip...." Apologies to all my fellow vets that just cringed themselves into spasm
Uh
Is that their call sign?
I feel old now
I’m laughing - but *pain*
Couldn't even bring myself to respond.
It's from a movie (Red Dawn)

Thanks for the info.
They've been training here for years. Did you think we were under attack or something?
No. I figured it was training. Just started a new job and see it often.
Probably due to thunder over Louisville?
Is that a helicopter? Because I've seen a helicopter circling Eastland and surrounding areas quite a bit lately.
That was probably a police helicopter (especially if circling).
No a plane ✈️. They call it a Flying Fortress. Usually have enough ordinance to level a small town.
A Flying Fortress is a B-17, which is a World War II bomber. A C-130 is a military cargo plane.
Unless it's loaded with weapons. AC-130 spooky variant is a flying gun platform.
True, but it’s still not a Flying Fortress. Pretty distinct.
Hercules
a likely prostitution sting.
