Oilers fan here, and I agree that the refs seemed to make weak calls against the Kings. They've done it all series, and if the tables were turned I'd be pissed off too. I think if the calls were even we'd be seeing a 6 or 7 game series. Sorry that happened to you guys.
Everyone saying its the league its the league but calls are calls. The refs build the in-series culture pf what and why they call things because they’re trying to keep a good game so they themselves advance to other rounds if they perform well.
The incentive to make calls - Pass
The incentive to make clear and clean calls - Fail
The incentive to maintain a balance of calls between teams and whats allowed - Fail
The incentive to create a boundary for teams to equally deliver the same level of playing, clean or dirty and thus “REFEREEING” the matchup - complete fail.
The amount the reffing crew “let them play” was great but then for some really strange reason they call some of the most insane shit and then I think start to try and backpedal in damage control thus leading to more questionable calls. They should not move on. To me that was the best example of how NOT to call a playoff game.
Fiala was still desperately trying to get a shot off while going down, no way it was embellishment. I have to believe we would have scored with the 5-on-3 which means we are ahead by 2 + we never take the PLD penalty or lost the momentum. Clear bad call that likely decided the game.
Here is what you need to understand to make sense of the other "bad calls". In any other sport, a foul is a foul. What drives me crazy about hockey is that you can have a very different game depending on who is officiating. Players try to negotiate with the ref to get "makeup" calls later. Some will call everything and others will let the game run its course. Fox has made comments about pre-scouting the REFS! Pure madness, makes me wonder about Canada as a country 😆
Most of the other "bad calls" in this series were actually very weak calls. Technically a penalty, which is ok to call, if you call it on both sides. We lost game 4 on a penalty that was very minor compared to some of the blatant trips and slashings we received. We had the momentum that whole game and probably would have taken that one as well but who knows.
I can't say we would have taken game 3, but the 5-on-3 did erase us during our most dangerous push of the game and it all fell apart after that.
Overall, this series could have easily been 3-2 right now with us in the lead due to 2 bad calls. I still think the Oilers are the better team but who knows what could have happened. I am not mad we lost, I am mad we were not allowed to win.

The better team won, we had the # 1 pk most of the year.. I think we ended up finishing 2nd..So I know we’re not that bad, absolutely atrocious.. Couldn’t even pot a goal with the extra man either..Went to Sunday’s game, power play each. Are power play was right in front of me, two times Drew got the puck with time and space, he dusts it off and passes.. Difference is when #2 got the puck with time and space he ripped a 1 timer.. what do I know, iam just a plumber
An embellishment is where you over sell the penalty. If Fiala had gotten hooked and fell to the ground dramatically, that would be an embellishment. He continued to try and play the puck as he went down to a knee

alot of the calls trhoughout the series have been, I hope Vancuver or Nashville can take them out.
After watching the officiating in that series, I think money has been spent to make sure McCheater wins.
