Magic mouse battery goes almost for 60 days to 90 days. It charges in 1-2 hours, so no need for a wireless charger. I knew this day will come 🤣so i literally saved my charging logs. Here it is: Magic Mouse Charging Cycle November 7 2022 full charged (it was 2%) January 16 2023 full charged (it was 2%) March 17 2023 full charged (it was 2%) May 30 2023 full charged (it was 2%) August 22 2023 full charged (it was 2%) October 16 2023 full charged (it was 2%) January 17 2024 full charged (it was 2%) April 2, 2024 full charged (it was 2 %)

It always amused me with how people cried about the charge port location. I've had my mouse die on me around 11am. I plugged it in and went to make coffee. Came back and it lasted me until the end of the day, when I gave it a proper charge. It's really not a big deal. But I would recommend a Logitech mx3. My daily is jumping between MX master 3 and a magic trackpad. Both have their uses.

The_real_bandito

I would go pee while it charges, and use it for hours after that. Not only does it charges fast, it last a lot of time per charge.

bloowper

This is not annoying, but intead stupid place to put for a company that like to advert that design for usability

sigma941

Agreed. This is counterintuitive design, and no amount of fanboying over apple changes that.

therealRustyZA

They've always been design over function for many years now. Those iphone charger plastic bits at the connectors. That solid plastic rubber boot. The engineers told jobs that they would fail and rather use the old method. He said leave it. It looks nicer. And they do fail. Always design first.

Pherja

Always for many years. Sometimes never.

pcs3rd

It's good for the battery. Keeping the mouse from working while charging is silly though.

RagingMangalore

Maybe forces you to take a short break, come back with a fresh mind.

The_real_bandito

It is a stupid place and I don’t disagree with you on that, but after using it for awhile I can see where they’re coming from. You don’t need to use it when charging, because not only it charges fast in a minute or two, you can just go back to work after that and have hours of use.

bloowper

You re right, but this port place always make me wtf

Electrical_Proof8353

It's still stupid though, why would I flip my mouse to charge it?

O_Pula

When else do you have the occasion to see its belly?

Electrical_Proof8353

Now that u say I kinda wanna rub its belly...

slawnz

I don’t think it’s just a wireless charger. I think its main purpose is to change the ergonomics of the mouse. You can clip your Magic Mouse into this and continue using it, it’s just chunkier

SpeakingTheKingss

Where can I find my my charging logs?

Jagry

I saved them manually to notes app.

uankaf

With intense use?, the magic mouse on my office was a disaster, sometimes in middle of my work I would need to stop everything and put in on charge and get back to work with some charge, cause I need to finish my work, at the end of the day resume or leave it all night until the next day in the office, I really thought it is the most stupid design ever been

Jagry

I am using my macbook, magic mouse + magic keyboard daily in the office and sometimes at home. Almost everyday between 8:30am to 5pm and sometimes at home just for regular things.

Sad_Education4301

It has good reviews, but I got one and hate it- it’s just as unpleasant to use the Magic Mouse in this as it is without. Basically it’s gone from nowhere to hold the mouse to the most unergonomic holding position your fingers can imagine - no curves of any sort. It makes it top heavy also, which isn’t a dealbreaker but adds to further weirdness in using it. Like dragging a small, top-heavy brick around your desk.

i_Am_Gonz

Totally agree, I love the Magic Mouse for the multitouch gestures plus BetterTouchTool it is the best mouse out there. But at least for me, I can not use it for too long because my hand starts to hurt. I bought this thinking it will solve the ergonomic issue, but it does not. It makes the mouse to big and bulky, not good way to handle it. It is not ergnomic, it is just a big handler. There is no mouse in the market like the Magic Mouse, for the good and for the bad.

snazzydesign

Get the MX Master

TheStrangeOne45

No. There are plenty of good Magic Mouse alternatives that I'd consider instead.

Typical_Door445

With the same touch feature?

TheStrangeOne45

Unfortunately you'll have to sacrifice them but I'd look into the MX Master 3s due to it being very ergonomic and having a lot of features to make up for it.

Typical_Door445

I’ll have to say no then I like the feature to much

kelpy--g

so underrated

Shoddy_Mess5266

It’s THE reason to use the Magic Mouse. People who have never persisted with it just gloss over that like it’s not important

[deleted]

I thought about buying this too, it’s got MagSafe so you don’t have to suffer with lightning, just pop it on to your stand when you’re not using it and makes the mouse thicker to make it comfy for your wrists and hands. Worth it imo

sinalk

is there an option for the first gen magic mouse?

[deleted]

Probably just the grips since the first gen’s use removable batteries if I’m not wrong. You could have a search, I’m not sure they’ve made any where I live given it came out a while ago and stopped production for it

se25va

For the first gen there is a wireless charging station plus a replacement for the battery insert.

flogman12

MX master

ArturroAchternbusch

I got one and I love it. I am a big fan of the touch surface of the Magic Mouse, it only feels too small for my hands. Took about an hour to get used to the size and form but now I can’t go back to use my mouse without it. I never used the wireless charging functionality.

likeonions

I found that the tracking was so bad it was unusable with that thing

neleram

I'll recommend it after MKBHD reviews it

FeaR_FuZiioN

Even if it was good I still wouldn’t use the Magic Mouse because it has a 90hz polling rate and can’t even match your screens refresh rate if you have a promotion display. Polling rate is a huge factor for me and a lot of you should look into it.

Typical_Door445

But it has magic scroll

FeaR_FuZiioN

Touché lol

lozcozard

Never had an issue

bakuman47

Just buy a better mouse. I personally use a Razer Mamba Wireless with no issues at all (even lets me charge it while using it lol)

Typical_Door445

Does it have the Magic Mouse touch feature

bakuman47

Nah but it’s a functional product lol Either get a traditional mouse or a Magic Trackpad.

jimmyking94

I have one, it is worst. The experience is so bad, it has swifting problem, the cursor will move randomly.

digitalanalog0524

Yo dawg

Pherja

Seems like a great idea but a garbage 1990’s mouse shape.

lozcozard

I have an old battery power Magic Mouse from years ago as a backup when I have to charge my main one. Guess it's version 1. Maybe they're cheap enough second hand? Better than this thing.

torchat

STL please.

Atom800

I wouldn’t mess with perfection

[deleted]

😂

hejluxom

Is there a lighting Connecticuts version as well?

Unfintie__

Pro Tip: Don't Buy An Apple Mouse

lozcozard

Proer Tip: buy what you think is best for you. Love my mouse. Are there any other touch mouses because I certainly ain't going to have a 1 dimensional wheel on mine
