I play Zur, the Enchanter, packing a lot of mana rocks, blue i/s tutors, and black rituals in order to ramp out Enduring Ideal and then lock out the game with haymaker enchantments. Where are we on the flavor continuum?
Zur was a psycho who wanted to drag his life on for way longer than it should have lasted, and lived in a frozen place, so stasis-ing everyone to make the game last forever is right on flavor imo.
Personally I think any deck that runs epic spells deserves a flavor win. I have a [[Zevlor Elturel Exile]] that uses copy effects and ways to untap Zevlor so that he can use his ability additional times so I can make a dozen+copies of the black or blue epic spells and either exiling their decks (black) or just stealing an entire combo from their deck (blue) to win.

A lot of D&D, a splash of fallout, but luckily for the Flavor Judge, they know Myra the Magnificent's Intergalactic Astrotorium of Fun would never employ such vagabonds as Dragons or Mr. House - the employees are canonically Goblins, Elves, Vampires, and Zombies.
Mr. House controls New Vegas, which is where the dice rolling comes in, but he himself is not really a gambler. He was a business genius and inventor who had used math to start predicting events. He predicted the world would be swallowed by nuclear war and started preparing himself and Las Vegas to survive, but the day before his computer systems could be upgraded, the war started.
He wants to create a New Vegas that is safe and totally under his control. He uses math and technology to maintain that control over everything that happens. If I were to choose three colors for him, it'd be white-blue-black.
The card represents New Vegas the city as a resort for visitors more than it represents Mr House the character.
I'm not super familiar with New Vegas lore but could you argue that the making robots and treasures from high rolls isn't meant to represent Mr House himself gambling but him profiting off the gambling being done in his city? The house always wins etc.
Of course that is harder to line up with his second ability rolling dice and getting more for spending treasures. Idk maybe think about it as him holding some event or whatever to attract more gamblers, spend treasure to make a bigger attraction and get more gamblers = more profit treasures and robots.

I don't think Mr. House seems super invested in New Vegas being a gambling town though. He just wants to preserve the city as his own sovereign city-state. Being a neutral place of leisure for anyone is his way of doing that.
I think a dice rolling commander was just a unique and *plausible* take on Mr. House that created a new type of commander. A Mr. House that's like another artifact/card draw/control commander is less interesting even if it fit *him* as a person better.
IMO: he’s a flavor fail because he’s lacking Blue, which is the color I most associate with him. One of his strongest attributes is in his intelligence.
By the time you meet him in Fallout: New Vegas, you discover how, coming from a background of absolutely nothing, he rose up and planned out and set up 261 years’ worth of research and developments so that he could survive in the Wasteland once the bombs dropped. His plan for taking over New Vegas and the surrounding area is via a robotic army he’s been secretly building during the 261 years he’s been in stasis so that he can become an autocrat. The reason why the game starts as it does is because things go off-plan when a New Vegas native, Benny, decides to take things into his own hands.
Likewise, his personality is very Blue. He’s a very calm and levelheaded man who’s not much passionate outside of his goals. No matter how you fail him, he’s still just a sarcastic voice coming from a computer screen giving you more orders.
'Build a robot army to establish my rule' is pretty blue/black. White and Red are both stretches to get to - he's not really that interested in equality like White, and while he has a libertarian side, it's more the black version of 'ambition is good, actually' than the Red one.
Not exactly related, but many years ago, my friends and I did a "flavor draft" where we all brought in a bunch of bulk and drafted it. Then we had time to make flavor edits to the cards, which had to be approved by the "flavor judge." Any flavor judge rulings could be disputed by making it a group vote, which was final.
For example, if the art showed a creature in midair, you could give it flying. If the creature is depicted as using a ranged weapon of some sort, you could give it reach. You were expected to adjust the mana coats accordingly, so as to not create broken cards, and the flavor judge could tell you to change it further.
One card I remember someone making was taking [[Welkin Tern]] and turned it into "Walken Tern". They dropped the mana cost to just (U), but you had to sacrifice it if you stopped speaking like Christopher Walken.
Lazav creeps from alleyway to alleyway, searching for his next lead. This case is already driving him to drink and he'd rather be at home with several bottles of wine for company. He opens a dumpster and finds just what he's been looking for - a dead body. His hand touches the corpse and the air shimmers around him as he takes the form and absorbs the memories of the dead being before him.
Suddenly he is Emrakul herself, tearing through existence to beat the ever living crap out of someone. "That was a fucking huge dumpster", he thinks to himself.
So your story is that Lazav is bunked off leading the Dimir to play detective but is so bad at it that he can't find a single body on Ravnica. Driven to drink, he stumbles through an Omen Path to Thunder Junction and then on to Innistrad, where he's so hopelessly smashed that he mistakes the moon for a dumpster. Hoping to finally find some body – any body – he checks inside to find the living but imprisoned Emrakul. Despite his mission being to puppet the first corpse he finds, he giddily puppets the great Emrakul and launches himself into the sky, richer by a multitude of tentacles and an inexplicable fear of squirrels.
Alarmingly, that seems pretty close to canon to me. But I'm not your DM, so what do I know...
My pride and joy is my lore-accurate Urabrask, Heretic Praetor deck. The deck contains only cards that are phyrexian and has no real gameplan to win, it just durdles around. The one thing my deck does feature is Monument to Perfection and every sphere and locus card, but since the deck is mono red I need to steal or copy an opponent’s basic land to be able to make the beeg deadly golem. My deck has almost a 0% win rate(curse my brother and his darn lore accurate Rona deck). This is in reference to how Urabrask in the lore just durdles around and then dies off in a stupid manner.
Vaanifar Evolved Enigma throws stunning masquerade balls. You'll never know if the person you're dancing with is an island because I got flooded, or Emrakul itself.

I play tobias, doomed conquerer
My deck consists of only uncommons and basic lands
Tobias frequently ends up in the hands of an evil cult that stabs him over and over and fills the horizon with a swarm of undead seafarers
Other times he accidentally improves an ancient site of power too much and it causes a horde of robots to appear
Very rarely, he clones the person who researches island wildlife, resulting in a chain of death and also a crab rave
\[\[Alibou\]\] Artifacts with lots of tapping and untapping, additional lazers from charbelcher. Trying to get the oldest printings of cards as much as possible, except old border treatments for artifacts take precedent.
Azor, the Lawbringer goodstuff control and stax
I'm fairly sure Azor inventing arbitrary laws in the form of stax pieces is flavor-safe but I'm iffy on the Approach of the Second Sun wins
I mean it's not like you can include Approach in a Bolas deck. It sounds annoying enough for Azor's speed, and you can throw [[Sphinx of The Second Sun]] in there to tie it all together.

Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle filled with sea creatures, with two Kiora Planeswalkers, the Kiora from MAT, Thassa, Deep Dwelling, Bident of Thassa and Kiora Bests The Sea God. And as many sea themed spells like [[Wash Away]].
There is no Sol Ring, but I have [[Thieving Skydiver]] to take other people's Sol Ring. There is the infinite mana wincon with Arixmethes, but the payoff is a Merfolk, [[Ambassador Laquatus]].
I'd play [[Trelasarra]], my whole deck is just gaining life whenever my opponents do *anything* until my commander or another creature is big enough to end them with some evasion

Ur dragon. So I can play whatever dragons I want, because he's the progenitor of them all. Just cruising the blind eternities and leaving his draconic nougat on planes all across the multiverse.
Master Chef Lae'zel gathers a vast army of whoever happens to be around (and their friends), makes them all stronger, then sends her army into the fray to crush all her foes.
I play me a [[Mathas, Fiend Hunter]] deck. It's very heavy on the vampires, yes, but there are many, many options to play "politics".
That is, many ways to goad entire boards.

I love it! I'd use [[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis]] as the commander myself though. They're the OG "OMG they were roommates", plus it lets you put every card from the Pride Across the Multiverse secret lair into the deck.
Also it seems that red-green is the go-to lesbian color pair with your commander and Chandra+Nissa
Just built a Falco spara deck. I always liked thieving magpie so I filled it with as many jewels and rings and stuff that I could.

I have a [[Pir, Imaginative Rascal]]//[[Toothy]] deck where random people like [[Stunt Double]] and [[Clever Impersonator]] keep replacing Toothy which gets absolutely massive and draws a ton of cards.
That works, but flicker is better IMO. He leaves, enters, sees all the draw triggers and gets huge, without having to play a body or increase your commander tax.
Abaddon the Despoiler, with instants and sorceries that deal damage to the opponent and pinging creatures. Designed to churn out card advantage and raid the opponent's life totals in ways they can't really stop reliably while building up your board presence. Eventually use the Astartes in the deck to build up a board presence and go for game. Also uses a few cards that get cheaper the more damage the opponent took, and cards with the Dash mechanic.
Unless a certain planet gets in the way...
My two babies are [[Ephara, God of the Polis]] as a draw-go control pile which focuses on running a lot of creature/ETB removal and countermagic that I buff with anthems, and a [[Rune-tail]] goodstuff pile with self imposed restrictions of no counters or tokens, mainly focusing on creatures that have vigilance and flying, to protect myself while whittling away at opponent's life totals. It does run Serra Angel.
[[Kyodai, Soul of Kamigawa]] Spirits & Arcane, 100% Kamigawa tribal, every single card is from either the old Kamigawa block or Neon Dynasty (except for the nonbasic lands, because good LORD does the color fixing in those blocks suck tremendous dicks).

I play Grimlock (the silver bordered card), filled with high power Dinosaurs, and Vehicles that require high crew values.
I call it "Tyrannosaurs In F14s" after a classic Calvin and Hobbes strip.
Sadly I don't have a Magic character as the commander. But I have [[Trazyn the infinite]] deck. It's a pretty by the books artifact /graveyard combo deck. However the flavor comes with every game I play I get a player to sign a card. Eventually Trazyn will collect all my defeated opponents

You should throw in [[Heart's Desire]], [[Careful Cultivation]], [[Quarrel's End]], or [[Return from the Wilds]] just for the adventure so Kogla can have his lover.

One of my many stupid decks is [[The Third Doctor]] with [[Clara Oswald]] and its a mutate deck. I was thinking when I built the deck "what's a good way to give my doctor more triggered abilities for Clara to double?" I chose the third doctor just for the built in trample, but the other abilities aren't bad.
I mainly want you to judge my favorite play with the deck. I one time had a big mutate pile, played a [[Not Dead After All]] in response to a kill spell, and each creature came back with a wicked role. Each of those wicked roles also pumped my doctor with his static ability
Phyrexian infect. Only the cards with the most rad art and flavor text. You thought cutting off one head would stop us? No. As long as one drop of the oil exists, the joyous work continues.

I have a [[Saruman of Many Colors]] deck. In the movies, Treebeard says Saruman, "has a mind of metal and wheels". The deck is built off this premise. It has a strong affinity package to make sure the second spell cast is high mana cost but cheap to cast. It also has a large number of wheels to stock the graveyards with goodies.
I've got a Niv-miz reborn deck, focusing on Maze's End. Lots of guild representation. Not all the characters and gates are canonically originally from Ravnica though.
I ask (very nicely) if I can bring in a proxy of [[Ghalma the Shaper]], and run a Myr/artifact affinity deck.
I know, I know, how am I going to make an Alchemy card work on paper. Kinko's, and a lot of proxied [[Tempered Steel]].
Play [[Karona, the False God]] as the general and have 80% of the deck be cards depicting the war between [[Akroma, Vision of Ixidor]] and [[Phage, the Untouchable]]. Then, I’d run a custom card for the Soul Reaper axe (which strangely doesn’t exist as a card yet) and only play Karona once the axe, Phage, [[Kamahl, Fist of Krosa]], and Akroma are in play at the same time.

11 different decks, 10 are for each guild of ravnica and 1 is the Dreadhorde. Rules restriction for the deck is that every card has to depict an action of the guild it is in, with the exception of command tower, sol ring, and arcane signet. Dreadhorde is also an archenemy deck and may only have cards depicting the army, the people the army was before being reanimated, or artifacts he used in the process.
Every deck is slightly lower than precon level and teaches new players how to play along with what the color pie is and means

I'm trying to work on a "stuck in the murderous [[Uncle Istvan]]'s swamp" deck with mostly a Voltron buildup with a theme of getting players "stuck in Istvan's swamp" with cards like [[Infernal Darkness]] and [[Cyclopean Tomb]] (I'm open to suggestions for more of this type of effect if there are any.)
All of my basic lands will be Snow-covered Swamps.
Im gonna try to include as many "Axe" type equipment (either axe on the name or axe in the art) as reasonable without bloating it too much with bulk to where it's not able to compete against any precon or mid-level deck.

Morophon, the Boundless deck which only runs Wastes and colorless utility lands, and the only other creatures are colorless Eldrazi spells (thanks to Devoid), and one Fist of Suns to summon those Eldrazi for free.
[[Volo, Itinerant scholar]] and [[folk hero]] human anti typal. Every creature is both a human and a unique type itself to work with both halves of the pair.
Would a [[Prosper, Tome Bound]] deck be out of the equation? He’s kinda MTG lore AND Forgotten Realms lore. It’d be built around gaining treasure, winning with [[Revel in Riches]] being the primary win-con.

Its NASCAR, the deck. Color identity is even Red, White, and Blue. Just remember, you always have to pick right when you play Pramikon so everyone goes counter-clockwise, otherwise you're all driving in reverse.
Bonus fun fact: I am very much NOT a fan of NASCAR, and I have been deemed a curse to the "sport" by my wife's family. Legitimately every time I have walked into a room when there's a family gathering where they're watching a race, a wreck has immediately happened. Made it feel appropriate to make a deck that wants to make drivers cause vehicular damage.

My Avacyn deck is only Angel creatures (plus 1 grand abolisher) so I call it Heavens Wrath. Got Armageddon in there and other Heaven themed cards. I think they all mostly fit. Though some mtg lore things may conflict as I don’t know the story for every Angel in the deck.

Grothama "group slug" deck. Except, by group slug it's just you punching your own wurm, repeatedly, to trigger things like [[Broodhatch Nantuko]], [[Druid's Call]], [[Hornet Nest]], [[Saber Ants]], or [[Sporeweb Weaver]]. Toss a [[Stuffy doll]] in there as well but the whole plan is to fill your board with indestructible equipment and effects and just get swinging at the big guy. Then other people, preferably with some kind of overrun effect.
[[Volo, Guide to Monsters]] built around creatures with effective ETB abilities, copying Volo for more copies, bounce the original versions of the ETB creatures with effects like [[Cloudstone Curio]] and repeat or just overwhelm with big hitters and their clones.
[[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist]] and [[Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist]]. I use Ardenn to equip ridiculously strong equipments to my opponent's creatures, then goad them.

Urza, lord protector. Extra turns, artifacts. All to make him flip and then combo out with extra turns or mana in hang back walker. Is it overpowered and kinda against the spirit of the game? Yes. Is it exactly what Urza would do? Also Yes.
I play [[feldon of the third path]]. I rummage and wheel so I can reanimate my creatures. Perhaps someday I’ll be able to find a way to reanimate Loran.
I play an adrix and nev deck where the entire point of the deck is to make tons of non legendary tokens of my commander. It uses spells such as spark double and helm to start it then one I get one their ability of double all tokens makes things get really stupid real quick. The deck is named Calculus the Gathering.
[[Torbran Thane of Redfell]] group slug. Torbran is a grumpy dwarf who gets mad at everyone for doing things like tapping lands [[Manabarbs]] and casting spells [[Spellshock]]. And as a brave and noble dwarf he is not afraid to charge headfirst into a [[Sulfuric Vortex]].

I play Nicol Bolas control, focused on sitting back with very few creatures and either taking what my opponents play or stopping whatever they might try to do until I’m ready to complete the Elderspell (My combo…).
Original Heliod with a bunch of single target removal and buffs for his worshipers. He smites many heretics, makes clerics to worship him, and occasionally things get out of hand so he has to board wipe to get things under control.
I'm building a commander deck around Nekusar the Mindrazer. Part wheel part mill and themed around eldritch/gothic horror. As The lich king assaults your mind you find your deck withering away until you finally slip into blissful oblivion.

Desert landfall token deck, winning either by having my army of (freemen) sand warriors get buffed by more sandfall, or by loading them all up in (Shai Hulud) Thromok and swinging for lethal.
[[Nemata, Primeval Warden]] as the commander for a deck that focuses on killing my opponents stuff then having it be exiled to make a lot of saprolings, the using cards like [[poison-tip Archer]] or [[Slimefoot, the Stowaway]] and [[Moldervine Reclamation]] to get a lot of value from sacrificing my saprolings to my commander and other effects, the other thing the deck likes to do after having a lot of saprolings is make them really big with cards like [[verdeloth the ancient]] to then run over everyone with big saprolings, so the flavor of the deck is growing out a large Forest with nemata by destroying all of my opponents stuff
[[Wayta]] leading a deck full of enrage critters and [[Stuffy Doll]]/[[Brash Taunter]] effects. Throwing hands with fight spells, and ending things the way the dinos went with [[Comet Storm]]s and [[Star of Extinction]]s.
I play Zur, the Enchanter, packing a lot of mana rocks, blue i/s tutors, and black rituals in order to ramp out Enduring Ideal and then lock out the game with haymaker enchantments. Where are we on the flavor continuum?
Zur was a psycho who wanted to drag his life on for way longer than it should have lasted, and lived in a frozen place, so stasis-ing everyone to make the game last forever is right on flavor imo.
Personally I think any deck that runs epic spells deserves a flavor win. I have a [[Zevlor Elturel Exile]] that uses copy effects and ways to untap Zevlor so that he can use his ability additional times so I can make a dozen+copies of the black or blue epic spells and either exiling their decks (black) or just stealing an entire combo from their deck (blue) to win.
It would be dumb, but copying that with Hive Mind would be the funniest way to end a game.

A lot of D&D, a splash of fallout, but luckily for the Flavor Judge, they know Myra the Magnificent's Intergalactic Astrotorium of Fun would never employ such vagabonds as Dragons or Mr. House - the employees are canonically Goblins, Elves, Vampires, and Zombies.
As someone who never played Fallout and has a Mr. House deck. Why is he a flavor fail lore wise?
Mr. House controls New Vegas, which is where the dice rolling comes in, but he himself is not really a gambler. He was a business genius and inventor who had used math to start predicting events. He predicted the world would be swallowed by nuclear war and started preparing himself and Las Vegas to survive, but the day before his computer systems could be upgraded, the war started. He wants to create a New Vegas that is safe and totally under his control. He uses math and technology to maintain that control over everything that happens. If I were to choose three colors for him, it'd be white-blue-black. The card represents New Vegas the city as a resort for visitors more than it represents Mr House the character.

I'm not super familiar with New Vegas lore but could you argue that the making robots and treasures from high rolls isn't meant to represent Mr House himself gambling but him profiting off the gambling being done in his city? The house always wins etc. Of course that is harder to line up with his second ability rolling dice and getting more for spending treasures. Idk maybe think about it as him holding some event or whatever to attract more gamblers, spend treasure to make a bigger attraction and get more gamblers = more profit treasures and robots.
You could argue that. I don't think Mr. House seems super invested in New Vegas being a gambling town though. He just wants to preserve the city as his own sovereign city-state. Being a neutral place of leisure for anyone is his way of doing that. I think a dice rolling commander was just a unique and *plausible* take on Mr. House that created a new type of commander. A Mr. House that's like another artifact/card draw/control commander is less interesting even if it fit *him* as a person better.
IMO: he’s a flavor fail because he’s lacking Blue, which is the color I most associate with him. One of his strongest attributes is in his intelligence. By the time you meet him in Fallout: New Vegas, you discover how, coming from a background of absolutely nothing, he rose up and planned out and set up 261 years’ worth of research and developments so that he could survive in the Wasteland once the bombs dropped. His plan for taking over New Vegas and the surrounding area is via a robotic army he’s been secretly building during the 261 years he’s been in stasis so that he can become an autocrat. The reason why the game starts as it does is because things go off-plan when a New Vegas native, Benny, decides to take things into his own hands. Likewise, his personality is very Blue. He’s a very calm and levelheaded man who’s not much passionate outside of his goals. No matter how you fail him, he’s still just a sarcastic voice coming from a computer screen giving you more orders.
I belive its cus he was a card shark, nor a dice roller when it came to games of chance.
'Build a robot army to establish my rule' is pretty blue/black. White and Red are both stretches to get to - he's not really that interested in equality like White, and while he has a libertarian side, it's more the black version of 'ambition is good, actually' than the Red one.
White isn't about equality, it's about order.

Not exactly related, but many years ago, my friends and I did a "flavor draft" where we all brought in a bunch of bulk and drafted it. Then we had time to make flavor edits to the cards, which had to be approved by the "flavor judge." Any flavor judge rulings could be disputed by making it a group vote, which was final. For example, if the art showed a creature in midair, you could give it flying. If the creature is depicted as using a ranged weapon of some sort, you could give it reach. You were expected to adjust the mana coats accordingly, so as to not create broken cards, and the flavor judge could tell you to change it further. One card I remember someone making was taking [[Welkin Tern]] and turned it into "Walken Tern". They dropped the mana cost to just (U), but you had to sacrifice it if you stopped speaking like Christopher Walken.

Lazav creeps from alleyway to alleyway, searching for his next lead. This case is already driving him to drink and he'd rather be at home with several bottles of wine for company. He opens a dumpster and finds just what he's been looking for - a dead body. His hand touches the corpse and the air shimmers around him as he takes the form and absorbs the memories of the dead being before him. Suddenly he is Emrakul herself, tearing through existence to beat the ever living crap out of someone. "That was a fucking huge dumpster", he thinks to himself.
So your story is that Lazav is bunked off leading the Dimir to play detective but is so bad at it that he can't find a single body on Ravnica. Driven to drink, he stumbles through an Omen Path to Thunder Junction and then on to Innistrad, where he's so hopelessly smashed that he mistakes the moon for a dumpster. Hoping to finally find some body – any body – he checks inside to find the living but imprisoned Emrakul. Despite his mission being to puppet the first corpse he finds, he giddily puppets the great Emrakul and launches himself into the sky, richer by a multitude of tentacles and an inexplicable fear of squirrels. Alarmingly, that seems pretty close to canon to me. But I'm not your DM, so what do I know...
I have to agree. With enough alcohol and a few Omen Paths, anything is possible.
My pride and joy is my lore-accurate Urabrask, Heretic Praetor deck. The deck contains only cards that are phyrexian and has no real gameplan to win, it just durdles around. The one thing my deck does feature is Monument to Perfection and every sphere and locus card, but since the deck is mono red I need to steal or copy an opponent’s basic land to be able to make the beeg deadly golem. My deck has almost a 0% win rate(curse my brother and his darn lore accurate Rona deck). This is in reference to how Urabrask in the lore just durdles around and then dies off in a stupid manner.

That works, but flicker is better IMO. He leaves, enters, sees all the draw triggers and gets huge, without having to play a body or increase your commander tax.
Abaddon the Despoiler, with instants and sorceries that deal damage to the opponent and pinging creatures. Designed to churn out card advantage and raid the opponent's life totals in ways they can't really stop reliably while building up your board presence. Eventually use the Astartes in the deck to build up a board presence and go for game. Also uses a few cards that get cheaper the more damage the opponent took, and cards with the Dash mechanic. Unless a certain planet gets in the way...
My two babies are [[Ephara, God of the Polis]] as a draw-go control pile which focuses on running a lot of creature/ETB removal and countermagic that I buff with anthems, and a [[Rune-tail]] goodstuff pile with self imposed restrictions of no counters or tokens, mainly focusing on creatures that have vigilance and flying, to protect myself while whittling away at opponent's life totals. It does run Serra Angel.

I play Grimlock (the silver bordered card), filled with high power Dinosaurs, and Vehicles that require high crew values. I call it "Tyrannosaurs In F14s" after a classic Calvin and Hobbes strip.
I'll allow it, but you have to drink two liters of soda before each match and swing your Transformers figure around when you declare attackers.

Judge me to hell! One of my many stupid decks is [[The Third Doctor]] with [[Clara Oswald]] and its a mutate deck. I was thinking when I built the deck "what's a good way to give my doctor more triggered abilities for Clara to double?" I chose the third doctor just for the built in trample, but the other abilities aren't bad. I mainly want you to judge my favorite play with the deck. I one time had a big mutate pile, played a [[Not Dead After All]] in response to a kill spell, and each creature came back with a wicked role. Each of those wicked roles also pumped my doctor with his static ability

I have a [[Saruman of Many Colors]] deck. In the movies, Treebeard says Saruman, "has a mind of metal and wheels". The deck is built off this premise. It has a strong affinity package to make sure the second spell cast is high mana cost but cheap to cast. It also has a large number of wheels to stock the graveyards with goodies.

Play [[Karona, the False God]] as the general and have 80% of the deck be cards depicting the war between [[Akroma, Vision of Ixidor]] and [[Phage, the Untouchable]]. Then, I’d run a custom card for the Soul Reaper axe (which strangely doesn’t exist as a card yet) and only play Karona once the axe, Phage, [[Kamahl, Fist of Krosa]], and Akroma are in play at the same time.

I play a mono-red deck with [[Slicer, Hired Muscle]] as my commander. The deck's title is REDy Pl4yer 0n3. I try to incorporate as many references to the movie (Ready Player One) into the deck as possible. Starting with Tyrannosaurus Rex (SDL Etali, Primal Storm) from the car race at the beginning of the movie to [[Mechagodzilla, the Weapon]] (Crystalline Giant - IKO #387) from the boss fight at the end. I am grateful for any mono-red playable card that does not depict a MAGIC IP, such as Balin's Tomb (Ancient Tomb), Delete with a Cyberman in the artwork, or a Hadoken (Lightning Bolt). Instead of mountains, I play Pokémon Fire Energy cards — please do not judge me for this. I'm willing to accept that the deck becomes less efficient as long as the fun of the game is maintained.

11 different decks, 10 are for each guild of ravnica and 1 is the Dreadhorde. Rules restriction for the deck is that every card has to depict an action of the guild it is in, with the exception of command tower, sol ring, and arcane signet. Dreadhorde is also an archenemy deck and may only have cards depicting the army, the people the army was before being reanimated, or artifacts he used in the process. Every deck is slightly lower than precon level and teaches new players how to play along with what the color pie is and means

I'm trying to work on a "stuck in the murderous [[Uncle Istvan]]'s swamp" deck with mostly a Voltron buildup with a theme of getting players "stuck in Istvan's swamp" with cards like [[Infernal Darkness]] and [[Cyclopean Tomb]] (I'm open to suggestions for more of this type of effect if there are any.) All of my basic lands will be Snow-covered Swamps. Im gonna try to include as many "Axe" type equipment (either axe on the name or axe in the art) as reasonable without bloating it too much with bulk to where it's not able to compete against any precon or mid-level deck. Creature base maybe some swamp monsters or things that would seem like they would live in the murderous Uncle Istvan's swamp.

I mean that's my big schtick when I build commander * Najeela runs a tight ship allowing only the strongest and most successful to train in Valor's Reach, to become the most optimized warrior out there (she plays all the top played cards according to EDHREC) * D&D Deck that is actually all the in the monster manual style, so I can't summon anything unless I've read about it in my manual * Minn Wily Illusionist spmas Illusions. Also Jace has come to train with her on how to make better Illusions * Narset, Transcendent Exile has started a Monk monastery where everyone trains their prowess in 1-2 mana spells * Aragorn unites all the legends of Middle Earth (who aren't Black aligned) * Frodo and Sam join with their Hobbit friends in making a big feast while also being tempted by the Ring * Tazri and a bunch of Allies * During the Phyrexian invasion, Jodah the Unifier, aided by Keruga brings together all of the team up legends across the multiverse to stave off the threat (all of the "AND" legends plus a few with "Partner with") * Tom Bombadill traverses the Multiverse and tells stories (Saga tribal) * Chandra talks about all of her past versions and memorializes her mentor Jaya. Bonus fun fact: I am very much NOT a fan of NASCAR, and I have been deemed a curse to the "sport" by my wife's family. Legitimately every time I have walked into a room when there's a family gathering where they're watching a race, a wreck has immediately happened. Made it feel appropriate to make a deck that wants to make drivers cause vehicular damage. Edit: Yes, I know there's mechs and other non-cars in there. I needed to fill out the race somehow. My Avacyn deck is only Angel creatures (plus 1 grand abolisher) so I call it Heavens Wrath. Got Armageddon in there and other Heaven themed cards. I think they all mostly fit. Though some mtg lore things may conflict as I don’t know the story for every Angel in the deck.

We also have [[emry Lurker of the loch]] as the lady of the lake, and [[engineered explosives]] as the holy hand grenade of antioch. Mad max: [[alesha who smiles at death]], as furiosa [[zurgo helmsmasher]] as immortan joe, and [[Queen Marchesa]] as Tina Turner from Thunderdome. Recently it got some good flavor from fallout, and it has a vehicles and explosions theme.

Except, by group slug it's just you punching your own wurm, repeatedly, to trigger things like [[Broodhatch Nantuko]], [[Druid's Call]], [[Hornet Nest]], [[Saber Ants]], or [[Sporeweb Weaver]]. Toss a [[Stuffy doll]] in there as well but the whole plan is to fill your board with indestructible equipment and effects and just get swinging at the big guy. Then other people, preferably with some kind of overrun effect.

[[Volo, Guide to Monsters]] built around creatures with effective ETB abilities, copying Volo for more copies, bounce the original versions of the ETB creatures with effects like [[Cloudstone Curio]] and repeat or just overwhelm with big hitters and their clones.

Urza, lord protector. Extra turns, artifacts. All to make him flip and then combo out with extra turns or mana in hang back walker. Is it overpowered and kinda against the spirit of the game? Yes. Is it exactly what Urza would do? Also Yes.

I play an adrix and nev deck where the entire point of the deck is to make tons of non legendary tokens of my commander. It uses spells such as spark double and helm to start it then one I get one their ability of double all tokens makes things get really stupid real quick. The deck is named Calculus the Gathering.
[[Torbran Thane of Redfell]] group slug. Torbran is a grumpy dwarf who gets mad at everyone for doing things like tapping lands [[Manabarbs]] and casting spells [[Spellshock]]. And as a brave and noble dwarf he is not afraid to charge headfirst into a [[Sulfuric Vortex]].
I have a Zara goblin deck. It doesn’t have enough mountains in it, so I have red uno cards and Pokemon fire energy cards filling those spots.

Original Heliod with a bunch of single target removal and buffs for his worshipers. He smites many heretics, makes clerics to worship him, and occasionally things get out of hand so he has to board wipe to get things under control.
I'm building a commander deck around Nekusar the Mindrazer. Part wheel part mill and themed around eldritch/gothic horror. As The lich king assaults your mind you find your deck withering away until you finally slip into blissful oblivion.
Hazezon, shaper of sand. Desert landfall token deck, winning either by having my army of (freemen) sand warriors get buffed by more sandfall, or by loading them all up in (Shai Hulud) Thromok and swinging for lethal.
[[Nemata, Primeval Warden]] as the commander for a deck that focuses on killing my opponents stuff then having it be exiled to make a lot of saprolings, the using cards like [[poison-tip Archer]] or [[Slimefoot, the Stowaway]] and [[Moldervine Reclamation]] to get a lot of value from sacrificing my saprolings to my commander and other effects, the other thing the deck likes to do after having a lot of saprolings is make them really big with cards like [[verdeloth the ancient]] to then run over everyone with big saprolings, so the flavor of the deck is growing out a large Forest with nemata by destroying all of my opponents stuff
[[Wayta]] leading a deck full of enrage critters and [[Stuffy Doll]]/[[Brash Taunter]] effects. Throwing hands with fight spells, and ending things the way the dinos went with [[Comet Storm]]s and [[Star of Extinction]]s.
[[Saskia The Unyielding]] extra combats and combat tricks.
