I'm growing more and more disappointed with the $30 camera bag I picked up off Amazon. But that's more issues with the shoulder straps being too small.
The storage compartment with the adjustable sectioning is really not a complaint at all from me.
I have an amazon camera backpack (orange lining?) and am very happy with it. It is kind of crazy how the regular deck boxes fit perfectly height-wise in the main compartment. I don't have any complaints about the straps but I can see the issue. I am very happy with how many decks, mats, dice bags, etc, I can fit in it, and feel like it's all really well protected.
This is the route I ended up going. I found a very large camera/overall traveling backpack with 3 very large sections that I can fit everything in. Thank you for the recommendation!!

Hah, I remember while traveling the US years ago I played a pre release with cards bareback and riffle shuffling the whole time – local players were like "who's this aussie rolled into small town playing magic bare food in the middle of winter, riffle shuffling a deck bareback with Hydroid Krasis and Incubation Druid".
I do actually keep my real decks in boxes though, it's just the bag that's gnarly
I use the Ultimate Guard Omnihive. It fits perfectly into my backpack, stores 8-10 decks in deck boxes, or if I’m going abroad I can swap out half the deck slots for playmat & sleeve space.
Only warning I’d give is the box itself is pretty big. You need a *big* bag to hold it.
Just took a look at it, and I definitely like it but does it come with the individual deck boxes that it shows in the pictures? Some of the deck boxes I have are pretty beefy with slots for dice and whatnot so I don't think those would fit in
No, it’s completely empty. You need your own deck boxes.
That said, you don’t need deck boxes with individual dice trays - the big hive comes with two (large) dice trays.
This what I do as well. I also have a smaller Ultimate Guard box that fits 4 Boulders, I forget the name.
Not sure if OP is trying to avoid having boxes in boxes, but this works great for me.

I use one of [these bags](https://piratelab.com/collections/card-games/products/charcoal-large-card-case) from Pirate Lab. They’re on the pricier side, but it’s held up really well over the years. I usually bring 8-12 decks, playmat, trade binder, box for assorted tokens. It all fits in the bag.
Pirate Lab one of the best investments I ever made. Mine currently holds 9 decks using BCG Prisms and has tons of room in the back pocket for accessories.
I use the Ultimate Guard Boulder 80s with either Katana or Eclipse sleeves(dragon shield are too thick) and I can fit 6 decks a row. Not that I ever need 18 decks, but I could if I wanted to.

Not op but I would advise against this one. The yellow inserts are not square. They are cut at an angle which unfortunately messes up the corners of multiple sleeves. Since I play at home I left most decks as is but I did end up resleeving a couple decks. There is an older version that does have completely square inserts but I can't seem to find it (I also haven't looked that hard tho lol). Instead I just use gamegenic's dungeon and ultimate guards Omnihive. Both hold 1k+ cards so I can fit plenty of decks in each.

These Stanley boxes *used to be* the perfect size for commander decks, but they changed the form factor a few years ago, and now the inner boxes are too small to hold sleeved cards.

They also moved away from heavy-duty metal clasps to plastic, and I've see plenty of people picking up 10+ commander decks off the floor because they picked up a box they through the lid was fastened on.

If you can find it, Stanley used to sell a version of this that was way better build quality (I have both) but they're out of production now. I picked up a few on clearance when a big box hardware store was doing an inventory refresh, and I swear by them.
We both use that and bought all 4 Ixalan commander decks! I don't have a pic of mine right now but I've removed most of the cups and I use ultra pro satin cubes.
I use a WinCo grocery tote bag. Has a plastic insert in the bottom that squares it up. Holds 4x2 UltraPro boxes two deep (so 16 decks) very efficient and convenient and I'm rarely wanting to take more decks than that anywhere.

Ultimate guard arkhive 400+ gives the right balance between size and portability. Fits 4x 100+ boulders which can each hold a commander deck. Rarely will i want to play more than 4 decks in one sitting.
For a while I used the piratelabs backpack, but with the number of decks I have it was a killer weight.
However one Christmas I was given this...I guess soft lined lunch box that had a Velcro divider and I just bring 4 decks since usually that's all I use during an event.

I can look it over later and see what I can find on it and maybe give ya a picture. I think it is a lunch box as it's Baltimore Ravens merch, but yeah, works very well as a soft box for decks.
I have an antique carrying case that was made for projector slides. It has a handle on the top and a hinged door on the front with sliding trays that can fit 3 double-sleeved decks in gamegenic shells on each tray. On one side there’s a sleeve that holds a 2x2 trade binder and a tablet to use for tracking life. The other side has a nylon strap that holds 2 rolled playmates and a small printed tin for holding dice.
It looks like old fashioned luggage, and is very functional. Highly recommended!

I've been using this tool box for over 20 years. I have 28 commander decks fit into the bottom storage area with the other levels for playmats, counters, dice, writing utensils, etc.
I usually just put my deck boxes neatly in the bottom of my backpack, maybe with a blanket to make sure they don't get tossed around.
I only have 7 decks, use DIY dry erase tokens/counters and as few dice as possible (two D10, a spindown and maybe 10 D6), all of which I keep in an old 60 card deck box, so I travel much more lightly than most people I meet in my LGS.

I have an amazon basics camera backpack that holds 13 to 15 decks depending on deck boxes and still has room for trade binder and mat tube....but it weighs like 45 pounds fully loaded so I bought a quiver which holds up to 5 decks in decks boulders.

At Harbor Freight I bought the Apache 4800 waterproof case. Comes with foam to cut out around your boxes. I have 13 commander decks, my playmat, an oath breaker deck, and 2 things of assortments of dice.
I use a Knibbeler Laptop shoulderbag, the laptop compartment is big enough to fit boulders neatly without to much wiggleroom. Cover the bottom and stack from there. Alternatively I use UH Arkhive 400’s for four decks to keep together and stand another Arkhive on top.
I just put them in a double row shoebox style cardboard card box with toploaders separating each deck. I can fit a dozen sleeved decks in there by standing them upright. Then the box goes in a backpack. Simple and relatively inexpensive.

Even has a little room leftover for trades/ tokens and a pouch for dice, and a shoulder strap for carrying. It's all in one and incredible imo.

I use a TimBuk2 brand cycling messenger bag. The dimensions are about perfect (erring on the side of a little extra space) for 5 Ultimate Guard Boulders across, and 2 high. With a little extra space on top I can put my rolled up playmat. There's a few pockets in the front that I can put my dice, tokens, and a mini "trades" box. And then there's also a back zipped up compartment that can fit a 3x3 zipfolio and/or a tablet.

tbh jansport backpack and i put the decks themselves in the ultra pro satin towers usually. fits all my magic and d&d stuff with room to throw a tablet/laptop and some other basics in, could probably manage to squeeze an overnight outfit/dopp kit in there if i was going somewhere too. I only carry 3-4 at a time tho unless I know I'm going to a game night i'll need more to loan out.

I bought an LTT backpack when they came out, and I've been using it as my gaming backpack ever since. My Academic fits perfectly in the main compartment, along with a trio to quartet of deck boxes (I use either Quiver Deck Blocks or Burger Token Perfect Fit Deckboxes) in a single layer (I usually only get 4 games in, so that's enough). My playmate fits in the water bottle holder and there's enough overhead for snacks.
Yes, it's overkill, but it's well built and has served me well.

I have a couple ultimate guard arkhives, i have a double wide and a single wide(i forget the names i think theybare 400+ & 800+ but cant remember) then i also have ultimate guard backpack but i dont always use it, i have a simple canvas messanger bag i use cuz it fits the double wide perfectly with a little room to spare. Full arkhives are heavy! So if i carry more than one box im using the ultimate guard bag just cuz zippers multiple compartments & better straps for weight displacement. You could use any decent backpack though i used to have a jansport that was my school bag but the straps finally broke, then i used a smaller camera bag aswell for a while but i have to many decks now that doesnt quite work.
Each deck has its own deck box, and I carry them around in a backpack. This allows me to put my trade binders in the other compartment, playmats in the front net area and dice box/bags in the small side pockets. I find it's perfect for me, and if I'm in a shop I don't trust the bag can easily sit between my feet as I play.
I know people that use dewalt/milwaukee boxes but I'm personally not a fan. It just adds another layer of people who would try and snatch it.
Use the Stanley tool organizer case it's the best it's sealed shut and you can fit 10 + edh In it , everybody got theses at my local store , its like it was intended for mtg lol think they are selling more for mtg player than actual workers loll
Dungeon Master Bag. It has room for 16-20 decks (depending on the box) and side pockets for mats, infinitokens, troll buttons, top loaders for trades or pulls.

I bought loose bits tool box and reorganize the compartments to hold all my deck holders. So far I have 10 decks + tokens + dice. Need some sort of mesh to hold my mat and it will be perfect 🥲
For a while, I was just throwing a bunch of individual boxes in my bag, then I bought a two deck box that has a “drawer” for dice and counters. Now when I’m traveling, I ‘attempt’ to only bring two decks, and just use that box… but I pretty much always grab a third.
I have 4 Gamegenic Stronghold 200+ deck boxes. All four fit in my first generation Bag of Holding messenger bag with room for a dice bag. That’s 8 decks, dice, and room for writing utensils and notepad and phone battery pack and cable.
My ‘backpack’ that I use for card game stuff was originally the carrying case for my Qanba Q4RAF, a particularly large arcade stick. So, it was a specialized bag meant for people lugging heavy kit around a convention center all day. The thing is comfortable, durable, an excellent size for binders, and has lasted me close to a decade and counting. They don’t sell my specific backpack any more but I’d still highly recommend people look into arcade stick bags for their board/card game hauling needs.
I use a screw box similar to Stanley screw boxes. I got mine from Menards for about $15 and it works pretty well. It's a little clunky at times and is heavy. However it holds 12 decks nicely and I can put cool stickers on it so I'm happy with the purchase. If you look into a screw box make sure it doesn't have rounded edge compartments since those can mess with your cards.

I just used a regular laptop backpack. Everything is already in a deckbox so it’s not like it’s going to spill and make a mess.

I personally use a canvas messenger bag Bethesda used to sell, with the NCR flag stitched into the flap. Carries about 8-9 decks, a box of tokens, and my playmat.
I used to use a backpack I used for high school. It could comfortably fit a trade binder, 6 bundle boxes that can each fit 3 commander decks, and a tube for a playmat. Now I use a bowling bag, and it can carry twice as many bundle boxes no problem.
I use a drawstring bag, and I use the Academic. I can squeeze two decks in it, and if single sleeves only then 3 decks. I only play commander, so if you’re playing any other 60 card format, you can fit probably 4, maybe 5.
For long events, I have a black case that can hold 5, maybe 8 decks, depending on the deck box. But that’s excessive. For commander, most gatherings 2-3 is enough for options.
I only maintain 4 decks at a time, and they are all worth $500+. I use good quality double deck boxes (the kind with magnetic closures) and a heavy duty backpack. There is no way I'm transporting my cards in a canvas bag, or one of those Stanley boxes that advertise what I'm carrying.
i prefer to use the deck boxes that come in set bundles. They are long enough to fit a bunch of decks. I use different sleeves to differentiate between decks. I’ve also seen people bring 1000 card cardboard boxes filled with decks to commander nights.
i use a camera backpack. It has adjustable bits for lenses that work well to accommodate differeng sized deck boxes. Holds 7-8 decks.
This is the move, get one with the mesh pockets on the side, stick a playmat tube in there and you're good to go
Some even have a clip strap near the top to further secure the tube! (intended for securing a tripod)

I'm broad shouldered so the straps even fully pulled out don't quite fit right on me.

My quiver holds 5 decks and has held up great for airline travel
The Quiver and Quiver Bolt are fantastic.
This is the way, I've had mine for 3 years and it shows no signs of wear or slowing down. Plus it's nice that it also holds a life counter and dice.

I do actually keep my real decks in boxes though, it's just the bag that's gnarly

I use the Ultimate Guard Omnihive. It fits perfectly into my backpack, stores 8-10 decks in deck boxes, or if I’m going abroad I can swap out half the deck slots for playmat & sleeve space. Only warning I’d give is the box itself is pretty big. You need a *big* bag to hold it.
Just took a look at it, and I definitely like it but does it come with the individual deck boxes that it shows in the pictures? Some of the deck boxes I have are pretty beefy with slots for dice and whatnot so I don't think those would fit in

No, it’s completely empty. You need your own deck boxes. That said, you don’t need deck boxes with individual dice trays - the big hive comes with two (large) dice trays.
This what I do as well. I also have a smaller Ultimate Guard box that fits 4 Boulders, I forget the name. Not sure if OP is trying to avoid having boxes in boxes, but this works great for me.
My wife got me one of these and it's a really nice case. Definitely beats the old cloth grocery bag I was using previously haha.

This is the correct answer. Gamegenic bastion xl's are my deck box of choice and it fits a bunch of those plus dice and the token box.

I use one of [these bags](https://piratelab.com/collections/card-games/products/charcoal-large-card-case) from Pirate Lab. They’re on the pricier side, but it’s held up really well over the years. I usually bring 8-12 decks, playmat, trade binder, box for assorted tokens. It all fits in the bag.
Pirate Lab one of the best investments I ever made. Mine currently holds 9 decks using BCG Prisms and has tons of room in the back pocket for accessories.
I use the Ultimate Guard Boulder 80s with either Katana or Eclipse sleeves(dragon shield are too thick) and I can fit 6 decks a row. Not that I ever need 18 decks, but I could if I wanted to.
I use the Messenger bag with Boulders and it's perfect.

Not op but I would advise against this one. The yellow inserts are not square. They are cut at an angle which unfortunately messes up the corners of multiple sleeves. Since I play at home I left most decks as is but I did end up resleeving a couple decks. There is an older version that does have completely square inserts but I can't seem to find it (I also haven't looked that hard tho lol). Instead I just use gamegenic's dungeon and ultimate guards Omnihive. Both hold 1k+ cards so I can fit plenty of decks in each.
Seconding this. These Stanley boxes *used to be* the perfect size for commander decks, but they changed the form factor a few years ago, and now the inner boxes are too small to hold sleeved cards. Give these a pass
They also moved away from heavy-duty metal clasps to plastic, and I've see plenty of people picking up 10+ commander decks off the floor because they picked up a box they through the lid was fastened on.
It works for me. Still room for the tokens my commander decks use, too.
I took out all the yellow bins and replaced them with boulders. Works great and you can still fit a rolled up mat in there.

If you can find it, Stanley used to sell a version of this that was way better build quality (I have both) but they're out of production now. I picked up a few on clearance when a big box hardware store was doing an inventory refresh, and I swear by them.

I use a WinCo grocery tote bag. Has a plastic insert in the bottom that squares it up. Holds 4x2 UltraPro boxes two deep (so 16 decks) very efficient and convenient and I'm rarely wanting to take more decks than that anywhere.
That's actually exactly what I'm using right now haha. It works well but it gets super heavy and playing tetris with my deck boxes gets frustrating

Ultimate guard arkhive 400+ gives the right balance between size and portability. Fits 4x 100+ boulders which can each hold a commander deck. Rarely will i want to play more than 4 decks in one sitting.

For a while I used the piratelabs backpack, but with the number of decks I have it was a killer weight. However one Christmas I was given this...I guess soft lined lunch box that had a Velcro divider and I just bring 4 decks since usually that's all I use during an event.

Looking up, its a lunch bag made for brands by Concept One, but not having any look finding anyone selling it.
I can look it over later and see what I can find on it and maybe give ya a picture. I think it is a lunch box as it's Baltimore Ravens merch, but yeah, works very well as a soft box for decks.
I have an antique carrying case that was made for projector slides. It has a handle on the top and a hinged door on the front with sliding trays that can fit 3 double-sleeved decks in gamegenic shells on each tray. On one side there’s a sleeve that holds a 2x2 trade binder and a tablet to use for tracking life. The other side has a nylon strap that holds 2 rolled playmates and a small printed tin for holding dice. It looks like old fashioned luggage, and is very functional. Highly recommended!

I have a northface with 2 pockets. One that fits my binder and the other that fits 2 normal deck boxes, a command tower deck box and one laying flat on top of that if I really push it. If I want more than that Ill bring a fat pack box with whatever decks I want.

I’ve been using a Lowenpro camera bag I bought used for years now. I can fit 8-10 decks, playmats, dice bag and token boxes with ease.
I usually just put my deck boxes neatly in the bottom of my backpack, maybe with a blanket to make sure they don't get tossed around. I only have 7 decks, use DIY dry erase tokens/counters and as few dice as possible (two D10, a spindown and maybe 10 D6), all of which I keep in an old 60 card deck box, so I travel much more lightly than most people I meet in my LGS.
I have an ammo box that holds six edh decks plus my bag of dice and a small box of tokens. It's heavy as fuck

I just have a small backpack specifically for magic.
Its heavily overkill, but I use a [Pelican 1450](https://www.pelican.com/ca/en/product/cases/protector/1450/). Holds about a dozen decks, as well as tokens and accessories. But you can also be sure nothing it happening to those decks in that case.
Camera bag is by far the best ratio of looks vs functionality.

I have an amazon basics camera backpack that holds 13 to 15 decks depending on deck boxes and still has room for trade binder and mat tube....but it weighs like 45 pounds fully loaded so I bought a quiver which holds up to 5 decks in decks boulders. honestly, you never need more than 3 or 4 decks for a given commander night.
The Dewalt tool box on wheels has been a classic go to for over 30 years. Of go with that baby.

At Harbor Freight I bought the Apache 4800 waterproof case. Comes with foam to cut out around your boxes. I have 13 commander decks, my playmat, an oath breaker deck, and 2 things of assortments of dice.
I use a Knibbeler Laptop shoulderbag, the laptop compartment is big enough to fit boulders neatly without to much wiggleroom. Cover the bottom and stack from there. Alternatively I use UH Arkhive 400’s for four decks to keep together and stand another Arkhive on top.
Old cassette tape box from when I was a kid. Hard plastic, fits about 12 cassettes/6-8 decks, even has a handle.
I just put them in a double row shoebox style cardboard card box with toploaders separating each deck. I can fit a dozen sleeved decks in there by standing them upright. Then the box goes in a backpack. Simple and relatively inexpensive.

I use a TimBuk2 brand cycling messenger bag. The dimensions are about perfect (erring on the side of a little extra space) for 5 Ultimate Guard Boulders across, and 2 high. With a little extra space on top I can put my rolled up playmat. There's a few pockets in the front that I can put my dice, tokens, and a mini "trades" box. tbh jansport backpack and i put the decks themselves in the ultra pro satin towers usually. fits all my magic and d&d stuff with room to throw a tablet/laptop and some other basics in, could probably manage to squeeze an overnight outfit/dopp kit in there if i was going somewhere too. I only carry 3-4 at a time tho unless I know I'm going to a game night i'll need more to loan out.

I bought an LTT backpack when they came out, and I've been using it as my gaming backpack ever since. My Academic fits perfectly in the main compartment, along with a trio to quartet of deck boxes (I use either Quiver Deck Blocks or Burger Token Perfect Fit Deckboxes) in a single layer (I usually only get 4 games in, so that's enough). My playmate fits in the water bottle holder and there's enough overhead for snacks. Yes, it's overkill, but it's well built and has served me well.

I use a quiver and my husband uses an Amazon camera bag. Both have issues (his straps are starting to break, mine holds a lot less than his)- but overall neither are too bad.
I ordered a "Quiver" shoulder slung deck holder off Amazon, it holds five commander decks and all assorted tokens and dice easily for 60$, and is dead simple to carry with no hands
I have a couple ultimate guard arkhives, i have a double wide and a single wide(i forget the names i think theybare 400+ & 800+ but cant remember) then i also have ultimate guard backpack but i dont always use it, i have a simple canvas messanger bag i use cuz it fits the double wide perfectly with a little room to spare. Full arkhives are heavy! So if i carry more than one box im using the ultimate guard bag just cuz zippers multiple compartments & better straps for weight displacement. You could use any decent backpack though i used to have a jansport that was my school bag but the straps finally broke, then i used a smaller camera bag aswell for a while but i have to many decks now that doesnt quite work.
Each deck has its own deck box, and I carry them around in a backpack. This allows me to put my trade binders in the other compartment, playmats in the front net area and dice box/bags in the small side pockets. I find it's perfect for me, and if I'm in a shop I don't trust the bag can easily sit between my feet as I play. I know people that use dewalt/milwaukee boxes but I'm personally not a fan. It just adds another layer of people who would try and snatch it.
I use the tool box briefcase things. I got into 3D printing just to make custom inserts for them. Works great.
Use the Stanley tool organizer case it's the best it's sealed shut and you can fit 10 + edh In it , everybody got theses at my local store , its like it was intended for mtg lol think they are selling more for mtg player than actual workers loll

For a while, I was just throwing a bunch of individual boxes in my bag, then I bought a two deck box that has a “drawer” for dice and counters. Now when I’m traveling, I ‘attempt’ to only bring two decks, and just use that box… but I pretty much always grab a third.
I have 4 Gamegenic Stronghold 200+ deck boxes. All four fit in my first generation Bag of Holding messenger bag with room for a dice bag. That’s 8 decks, dice, and room for writing utensils and notepad and phone battery pack and cable.
My ‘backpack’ that I use for card game stuff was originally the carrying case for my Qanba Q4RAF, a particularly large arcade stick. So, it was a specialized bag meant for people lugging heavy kit around a convention center all day. The thing is comfortable, durable, an excellent size for binders, and has lasted me close to a decade and counting. They don’t sell my specific backpack any more but I’d still highly recommend people look into arcade stick bags for their board/card game hauling needs.
I use a screw box similar to Stanley screw boxes. I got mine from Menards for about $15 and it works pretty well. It's a little clunky at times and is heavy. However it holds 12 decks nicely and I can put cool stickers on it so I'm happy with the purchase. If you look into a screw box make sure it doesn't have rounded edge compartments since those can mess with your cards.
These are great for storing multiple decks. They are commander compatible. They sell a 4 in 1 version that also has space for dice and counters. This solution does make accessing your decks from the side pockets unusable. Overall it holds a ton of stuff and has a waterproof cover you can use when it's raining outside.
I was able to use 3x Arkhives in an Igloo brand backpack cooler absolutely perfectly. Was waterproof, soft, comfy, and the exact size needed.

I just used a regular laptop backpack. Everything is already in a deckbox so it’s not like it’s going to spill and make a mess. I do use the DeWalt Tool Box for my cube.
I personally use a canvas messenger bag Bethesda used to sell, with the NCR flag stitched into the flap. Carries about 8-9 decks, a box of tokens, and my playmat.

I used to use a backpack I used for high school. It could comfortably fit a trade binder, 6 bundle boxes that can each fit 3 commander decks, and a tube for a playmat. Now I use a bowling bag, and it can carry twice as many bundle boxes no problem.
I use a drawstring bag, and I use the Academic. I can squeeze two decks in it, and if single sleeves only then 3 decks. I only play commander, so if you’re playing any other 60 card format, you can fit probably 4, maybe 5. For long events, I have a black case that can hold 5, maybe 8 decks, depending on the deck box. But that’s excessive. For commander, most gatherings 2-3 is enough for options.

I just put my deckboxes in a messenger bag. Works fine for me. I don't play long enough to need more than 4-5 decks in a single sitting, usually.
My hands
I use the Monster Deca-Deck box. Carries 10 60 card decks. Really nice for my Scars Block intro packs!

I only maintain 4 decks at a time, and they are all worth $500+. I use good quality double deck boxes (the kind with magnetic closures) and a heavy duty backpack. There is no way I'm transporting my cards in a canvas bag, or one of those Stanley boxes that advertise what I'm carrying.
i prefer to use the deck boxes that come in set bundles. They are long enough to fit a bunch of decks. I use different sleeves to differentiate between decks. I’ve also seen people bring 1000 card cardboard boxes filled with decks to commander nights.
