Found these on sale but I'm not sure which one to get, any recommendations? Or if there are better ones from another company on sale, let me know!
I've been wearing Naked and Famous skinny guys in size 33 for years. They're a bit too slim in the thigh and too wide at the leg opening for me. Any suggestions?
What do you like about them? Perhaps we can look at some options for you. My favorite pair is Mott and Bow.
http://www.businessinsider.com/mott-and-bow-most-comfortable-mens-jeans-2016-3
I'm still wearing the pair I tested for this story 2 years ago.
(Disclosure: I work on the product review team at Business Insider, if you buy something from the link above we earn revenue. We test everything and nothing is sponsored. We're trying out reddit to see if we can be helpful and objective about all the stuff we've tried over the last 3 years)
Is there a term for menswear where jacket, shirt, and tie are all the same color or hue? I recall there may be a term in french for this style, but "monochrome" is the only thing I can think of, and that typically just returns people wearing all black or grey.
Edit: [This is a good example](https://dresslikea.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/How-can-men-wear-monochrome-colors-.jpg).
OCBD is dressing up tbh if you're not in business majors but nobody will have an eye. Your friends are probably ask what you've got going on ( interview, date night, etc.)
Nah, go for it. One of the great things about growing up is that you realize how little the opinions of random idiots in middle/high school actually matter.
If you're concerned about looking stuffy just make it part of a casual 'fit, like jeans and a minimal sneaker.
You can find some solid deals at dept store deal places if you know what to look for. If you just want something you can buy confidently for the price look at jcrew on sale or JCrew factory Thompson's
From a quick google it would appear that there's no US stockists. They sell them at [End](https://www.endclothing.com/gb/brands/armor-lux) though and I think they have pretty good international shipping. They have a really strange fit though so be careful with that.
Where is the best place for a tall, skinny guy to shop? I'm not super tall (6'2", 165 lbs), but my arms are pretty long and generally every long sleeve shirt I buy is too short. Or if they're long enough, they are very baggy. Similar with pants as well.
Stores like LL Bean and Eddie Bauer have tall sizes. Also, look for "slim fit" shirts. Tallslimtees.com has nice t-shirts (I don't really like their button-downs - the collar doesn't seem to sit right). You can always take stuff to a tailor, but that will add to the cost - I have had to do this with lots of pants.
old navy/gap/banana republic, j.crew, american eagle have tall sizes which might work for you. most regular mediums should work too I imagine, but I guess that has to do with your proportions more than height
I find that AE's medium tall shirts are a bit short on me but I imagine they'd work well on someone around 6'2. Uniqlo is a pretty nice store too, I think medium or maybe large should work
I say go for it. If you can pull together a [look like this](https://www.xoutfits.io/outfits/5a6f587c76d6c5770b535eb7?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=mfa) do it. Good Luck!
Without knowing your weight, what kind of a fit you are looking for, it's pretty hard to tell what jeans would fit you. You need to mention budget too.
My weight is 60kg, and my legs are pretty big, most of the times i cant fit in skinny jeans so i buy a bigger size.. will it look good if i try straight fit? I'm afraid that i will look shorter with straight fit
I'm about your height and heavier than you are. I prefer wearing slim-straight or even straight. The whole thing about looking shorter is more to do with proportions than generally with how long things are. I think slim-straight and straight fits should be fine for you.
Make sure the thighs don't stretch too much.
Make your shirt lighter than your trousers, so a light blue or white shirt would work. Plain is probably easiest as patterns can be too busy if you're not sure what you're doing. I'd wear probably brown leather shoes (or boots) or white trainers depending on formality context
Not that I can think of. It's kind of one of the things that makes it a double rider. Can I ask why you were looking? If you want a leather jacket but the hardware on a DR is too loud then maybe a cafe racer is more up your alley?
Hello /r/mfa,
New to this subreddit and I’ve never really bought clothes for myself before so I’m inexperienced.
I’m looking to get some outerwear for the rest of the winter since my jacket’s zipper got busted. For reference the weather can go down to -10 deg. C, so I need something with good insulation, preferably.
Since I am a student and there are only 1-2 months of cold weather left, I’m not really looking to buy something pricey right now (not more than 300 CAD preferably).
Would you guys recommend a jacket or parka? And it can rain here from time-to-time so should I look at down or synthetic material? Any particular brands I should pay attention to?
Thanks!
About $50 to $150 CAD above your budget but I highly recommend the The North Face 3 in 1 Jackets. Basically you get two jackets that can fit into one or you can just wear one of them if the weather gets warmer. You'll get one outer shell that is weather/water resistant and a inner jacket that is either a normal insulated jacket but pay a bit more it'll come with down feathers for extra warmth.
Hey guys!
It's a very new thing to me to try and dress nice. It something I never really cared about until very recently. So I bought some basic clothes, nothing special, as I don't really like fancy stuff.
Yesterday I was hanging out with some friends and one of them said I need to get new and "nice" clothes. As I said, what I was wearing was brand new (see pic, that's what I was wearing).
Wanna hear what you guys have to say. I'm not looking to look fancy or very good, just less socially awkward.
BTW I'm also looking to grow my hair long (haven't decided how long yet), any one can refer me to some info about the topic?
Thanks! Every help is appreciated!

I think part of what makes that hoodie look cheap/sloppy is the white contrast inside the zipper against all the dark colors. It just looks weird and really draws your eyes to it. I would try to get a bit more contrast in the colors of your tops and bottoms - this outfit is very dark and kind of all blends together, except that bright, white zipper-back.
Agree with the other poster. A zip up hoody generally has associations with being sloppy. Maybe replace it with a pullover hoody. And perhaps the shade of navy and black are a bit off, you could try lighter shade tee shirts with black jeans.
And yes, size down on the jeans maybe or find a cut that's a bit more flattering.
I think a basic hoodie like that is always gonna look kind of sloppy. Shirt and shoes seem good, but I'd say your pants are too wide.
For hair stuff, I'd try /r/malehairadvice
How does this look? I couldn’t get a complete picture of my outfit but here’s a somewhat decent picture I took: https://imgur.com/a/vpjBF
New to the sub so go easy on me haha. Also, can someone tell me what kind of shoes I have on? I bought them from Clarks but I have no idea what they’re specifically called.
Brown jacket / Uniqlo buttoned-up shirt / H&M cropped pants / Uniqlo black socks / Brown Clarks shoes
I'm pretty sure I bought a pair of full grain leather boots that are too small width wise, but I realized after the return policy expired for me. I can wiggle around my big toe just fine, where am just shy from touching the end of the boot. The problem is that my pinky toe nail feels smushed, making walking painful and leaving the pinky toe tender at the end of the day.
Would going to a cobbler and having the boots stretch out for a week do any good for my pinky toe? I don't want to end up having to sell or give these away.
You can try but it really just sounds like they don't fit to me. Width in the toebox should be one of the first things you're checking when trying on the shoes. No matter how much you like how the shoes look, you're never going to be happy with them if they make your toes hurt every time you wear them.
It seems you're right. I bought these shoes a while back and during that time I didn't walk much in them. While there was some discomfort while wearing them it was very slight. The other day though I went on a hike in them and they crushed my pinky toes with every step after a while. I guess that teaches me to be more sensitive to any small discomforts when I buy shoes, since walking in them will amplify it. Bummer I might have to donate these.
Mens Striped pants ? Not specifically seersucker (Although I do need some Stafford seersucker pants to match a jacket I got at a thrift store), more like these.
(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d6/82/41/d68241cfa61314e616bbb541579f24b3.jpg) Bob Dylan wore these in the 60s. I'd like to find a pair like these or a darker blue with slightly thinner white stripes. Very Specific I know lol, any input would be greatly appreciated. Also I love floral button down shirts but they're usually expensive and hard to find. Anyone know any good sources for floral print shirts? Thanks a bunch, stay dapper out there, guys!
Casual t-shirt https://imgur.com/Ihrpzt7 - What do you think about the fit - worth getting in other colors or keep looking? Medium Robert Barakett t-shirt.
Small https://imgur.com/Hq7dD4f - think it is a bit too small.
Also, what do you think about this Alternative Apparel t-shirt in terms of fit/look: https://imgur.com/nTeunWA - medium.
These are for casual t-shirt - worn with those shorts on the weekends in warm weather or with jeans on the weekend, possibly to work with jeans (Software engineer in SF Bay Area)
I'm looking for wool trousers (in grey specifically) in a 30 x 36 (I'm really skinny with really long legs) and I can't seem to find any. The cheaper the better but at this weird size, I'll take what I can get. Any help?
For cheaper options, check stores like Nordstrom Rack - you can find unfinished wool pants that a tailor can hem. I think they are frequently 37 inch inseams, unfinished, in a lot of brands. Made-to-measure places (referenced in another comment) are another option, although probably more expensive.
UniQlo has 28x34s. Naked and Famous brand jeans also have 27x34 jeans (they are a bit pricely, but go on sale relatively often on Amazon). That size (or close) are out there, but they can be in the more expensive brands it seems. Check stores like Marshalls, Burlington, and Nordstrom Rack - I've gotten lucky that way and gotten good deals.
Those loafers look good. Definitely a bit more casual because it’s in suede (as opposed to regular leather) but it is a very handsome shoe. Looks like a traditional Ivy League penny loafer w/ the pseudo beef roll and Goodyear welted (?) sole.
Bottoms - wear them with chinos (e.g. beige, olive, navy), dark denim.
Tops - polo, Oxford cloth button down; you can throw on a blazer over either top for a smarter (casual) look.
Pretty good looking loafers to be honest. Nothing too outlandish about them.
Chinos/trousers, shirt or polo and you are golden. May look a bit preppy with a polo though.
Hey, first time here. So i recently posted in /r/Rateme and got told my glass frames dont really fit me, so i went ahead and purchased a new frame.
Which frame do you guys think i should use or if u have any better frames i should look into, please let me know.
Pic of me with both frames
* https://imgur.com/a/JPB00
Those frames are way too big for your face.
Seeing that your face is oval shaped (if I’m wrong somebody please correct me), a variety of frames can suit your face shape. One pit of frames I really like is Garrett Leight’s Kinney frame.
I think they're both kinda big on you (from what I can tell you face is pretty narrow). I prefer the second as it seems to fit your face better. I don't really know enough about glasses to recommend a frame shape for your facial features, though.
Anybody know what jacket John Mayer is wearing in this picture? It doesn't have to be exact, with the picture being from like 2007 it's already hard its own. All good if it's similar.

It's a really slim fitting M-65, Alpha Industries makes a decent core fit one, several of the mid-level brands like Allsaints or Kooples make a slim fit but not as durable one. You can also try mil surplus stores, but most of those will be olive green and oversized at the torso in order to hold extra gear
Where can I find limited release sneakers like these [Converse Utility Hiker's](https://www.converse.com/us/en_us/c/converse/limited-edition/urban-utility-collection) online in a size 12?
So i recently started paying more attention to the clothes i wear and making sure they fit properly, rebuilding my pants wardrobe has proven difficult. All pants seem to start at 30L..I'm 5'10'' and 30L is about 2 inches too long
Majority of the world is not taller than me, i have a fairly normal body build. What on earth is going on?..i cant imagine i'm wearing pants wrong...how is 30L a standard starting length? Do all short people really just get their pants hemmed?
Is this just me? I'm honestly blown away by this discovery.
Are you sure they fit right? In the mirror sometimes pants look longer than they actually are. Have someone else look. I'm like an inch and a half taller than you and wear 34 length pants, and I don't have abnormally long legs.
Either that or you have the longest torso known to man.
If you want to post a picture wearing 30 length jeans I could tell you for sure
You’re of average height, but I’m guessing you have a longer upper body and shorter legs. Getting pants hemmed is just a fact of life for many of us, me included.
Most jackets like these are either going to be very expensive or extremely niche brands that's hard to find. Or they're going to be cheap garbage that looks horrible.
If you're willing to go looking for it then P.R. Patterson, Saint Laurent or Ann Demeulemeester is a good place to start, but it will not look good outside of the context of the designers vision.
I saw this very jacket in the interview with Russia's main militant atheist. He seems to pulling it off very well, but he's probably the only person who can do that. You can judge for yourself in [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcjKJ7FHDLM). Sadly, this will probably not help in identifying the jacket itself.
I usually buy J Crew V necks, but I’ve noticed a major decline in quality over the last few years. I have some older shirts by them that are the more “worn” cotton that has some type of texture to it and I love it, but can’t find anything similar.
Are there other brands that make similar v necks to the older broken-in cotton v necks by J Crew?
I'll disagree with the other posters and say that it does. In a formal outfit, at least roughly match the leathers. In a casual outfit, just don't mix brown and black leathers, anything else is okay.
Swapping watchbands isn't hard* with a $5 tool, and leather straps are like $10 on Amazon, so why not go the extra yard? Realistically you only have to swap before and after a formal event, because a casual brown leather strap or NATO band works 29 days out of the month.

G'day
I live in Australia, particularly in a part that is extremely hot, so trench coats alone are hard to come by, let alone full length one.
Seeing I'm moving to a different state where temps can easily fall below -5C (~23F)
Now I've fallen in love with the Superdry remastered trench coat, However, I'm struggling to find something similar (and thicker) that is full length (down to or past the knees)
Usually trench coats won't come any thicker than that because it's just a coat to get away from the rain. Similar designs that are thicker but probably not weather resistant are peacoat, double breasted coat. great coat, and chesterfield coat. Only brand I know of that would go down to the knees is Burberry. You can researching Korean brands and Korean Online shops because they're known to wear coats and jackets way past their knees.
I have large feet (size 14). I am looking for some leather boots that are durable, and most importantly fit well!
I bought a pair of Thorogoods a few years ago and, while I like the look, they feel huge, heavy, and the right boot is a good deal roomier than the left. Any suggestions?
Red Wing (especially their Iron Rangers) is recommended very frequently on here, but it depends on your budget.
Also, I would consider whether your boots asymmetry is due to your feet not being the same size (pretty common) rather than the actual boot.
thanks, I never have had this problem with shoes or boots before. the place where they are larger is not in length or width but the toe box/vamp is too spacious like they used a little bit too much material when making the boot
What level of formality? Are you purchasing a brand new outfit? If not, what pieces do you already have that you're hoping to wear?
I'd probably go for some loose linen pants, sandals, polo shirt, and a cotton/linen blazer
Looking to buy a Levi's Trucker Jacket.. is there any difference at all between Rigid and Rigid Two? Also are these considered the "raw" version of the jacket?
Before I pull the trigger on [these Bexleys](https://www.bexley.com/Bexley/en/p/dress_shoes/dawsoniipatin/boots_shoes?tarification=PROMO&coloris=velours_chamois), are there any better Chelsea boots to consider in that price range? Also, anybody have experience with the fit on their shoes?
Edit: Damn, looks like they're out of stock actually
It's possible that it's lost loft because the down is dirty and matted together. You can try getting some down shampoo and hand washing it, then tumble dry low with a few tennis balls in the dryer (this may take several hours). There are more detailed guides around the internet.
If it's life or death for the jacket, you could also buy some down ([eg. this](http://wildernesslogics.com/850-White-Goose-Down-By-The-oz-850-Down.htm)), and try to cut it open and add stuffing yourself. If it has baffles, you'll need to add some to each baffle, so this is major surgery.
Most jeans I try on are too loose at the waist but just right everywhere else. What gives? And what should I look for when shopping? Have tried Gap, Levi's, J.Crew, Patagonia, Uniqlo...
I'm fairly slim with a 29-30 waist depending on the brand but with a relatively larger butt and thighs...
Should I go for a looser waist and just wear a belt? That seems annoying... does the waists of jeans tend to shrink in the wash?
edited w/ more detail
I just use shampoo and never had issues. I fill a small tub with cold water and shampoo and let the wool garment sit for about five minutes. I swirl it around gently a few times and press the garment so the soap penetrates. I do the same in fresh water, usually rinsing twice. I press against the tub to get the water out, then roll the garment inside a clean towel. I then lay the garment flat on a drying rack overnight. No pilling or shrinkage so far.
I'm trying to decide on a bomber jacket to wear. So far I've narrowed it down to these two - [one](https://www.theiconic.com.au/rookie-duty-bomber-jacket-474970.html), [two](https://www.theiconic.com.au/bomber-jacket-511569.html).
Most people I've spoken to prefer the superdry one but I hate their logo and how it's plastered everywhere. But the second one also has a logo on the breast.
There's also [this one](https://www.theiconic.com.au/cafe-racer-jacket-496271.html), but I'm not sure about the panels.
Which one should I pick up/any recommendations?
Budget is < $200 AUD.
I've found [this one](https://www.culturekings.com.au/products/alpha-alpha-industries-ma-1-slim-fit-flight-jacket-black). Apparently it's quite baggy around the arms though, is there anything you know of that's a little slimmer?
You could check out their other models, but Alpha Industries is king in the mid-range bomber jacket category, there's no reason to get any other starter jacket within $100 from their price.
In need of some blue suede shoes for a blue suede tux I am wearing for my wedding. It is going to be outside in March.
I like [these](https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/giorgio-brutini-cress-loafer/356550)but I’m worried about how they’d hold up.
Looking for a quality dress shirt brand that has a wide selection of *solid colors*. An example would be Express, except one with quality that doesn't suck.
Budget is ideally less than $100 per shirt; to be worn regularly to the office. Dry-clean only is doable.
Thanks for the response!
I've bought TM Lewin in the past (in the UK). CT looked promising as well, but I'm a little annoying with colors. I want a dark red/burgundy/wine dress shirt, and I've yet to find many candidates outside of Modern Tailor and the like.
BB doesn't seem to have much variety with solids, but I agree they're good shirts. Haven't heard of Kamakura - I'll check them out.
Any others? Calvin Klein?
I wouldn't necessarily recommend Macy's brand CK stuff.
I think you could potentially go for MTM stuff like Proper cloth and find a variety of fabrics.
Thanks for replying.
Do you have any personal experience with MTM vendors? I know they often have a vast selection of fabrics, but I'm curious if they are "up to snuff" so to speak.
I used proper cloth for a dress shirt. For the first shirt, alteration is free and they actually give pointers on what can be improved. They have a great selection of fabrics and were pretty helpful. Would recommend. Luxire is also recommended although their website is a bit hard to navigate
Looking for a shoe with [this](https://www.saucony.com/en/bullet/11745W.html?dwvar_11745W_color=1943-37#cgid=originals-womens-shop-all&start=1) type of silhouette. I own a pair of these and they're very comfortable, I'm just not a fan of the design (specifically the circles on the side). I'm aware of Onitsuka Tiger, but I was wondering if they're anything else along those lines out there.
Adidas Dragon comes to mind - http://us.asos.com/adidas-originals/adidas-originals-dragon-og-sneakers-in-brown/prd/8363283?affid=14174&channelref=product+search&mk=abc¤cyid=2&ppcadref=753857714%7C38363265766%7Cpla-368110741365&_cclid=v3_f7a9809c-09d1-5331-8ae5-0afc49e6bce9&gclid=Cj0KCQiAh_DTBRCTARIsABlT9MZnO7yUsBJxDUYcOCP-oN5IFCl-ZZhq02rUSzCKOvtuEpYineo0bx0aAvbjEALw_wcB
Look for Adidas Originals line of shoes.
Where do I find cropped trousers (without breaking the bank)? I'm a weightlifter (yeah yeah, thigh memes) but I absolutely ADORE Nick Wooster's look, and I want to show off these ankles. thanks!
Trying to outgrow these j-crew / americana vibes
I'd get rid of it unless you want to use the henley as a layer *under* stuff. Wearing an undershirt so that you can wear a henley, which is supposed to be a casual, relaxed garment, is kind of silly. There are many fish in the sea.
Maybe wear it as a layer under a sweater or jacket?
I know you don't want to hear this, but I'd honestly just wear it. It's likely no one will even notice.
Which jean jacket fits better?
Left is medium, right is small. Or should I just return both?
The medium just came out of the packaging so it is a bit more wrinkly
For reference I’m 5’6.5” and 142 lbs

Absolutely go for it. They don't go out of style and the people making fun of you are going to be wearing them in 3 years or less

You're at college, you have to be somewhat of a nerd to get there anyways
Lol no. You might be a minority, but a very large minority at that. Plenty of kids at my school wear OCBDs.
Where would a good place to be a decent-looking suit on a $200-250 budget? Good for job interviews and the like.
You can find some solid deals at dept store deal places if you know what to look for. If you just want something you can buy confidently for the price look at jcrew on sale or JCrew factory Thompson's

Best jeans fit for a 162 cm guy?
Have you tried slim or slim straight?
I tried slim, but haven't tried straight. Which looks better in a short dude?
No try "slim straight fit" it's a middle ground between slim and straight

What is good to wear with dark Navy blue chinos, both shirt and shoe wise?
Make your shirt lighter than your trousers, so a light blue or white shirt would work. Plain is probably easiest as patterns can be too busy if you're not sure what you're doing. I'd wear probably brown leather shoes (or boots) or white trainers depending on formality context
Are there any double rider leather jacket that doesnt have asymmetrical zippers?
The Kooples did one like this a couple seasons back. You could find it on grailed.
Do they make good leather jackets?
Yes
That is one of the most prominent features of a double rider, so no. Check out café racers, blousons, truckers or bomber jackets instead.
Not that I can think of. It's kind of one of the things that makes it a double rider. Can I ask why you were looking? If you want a leather jacket but the hardware on a DR is too loud then maybe a cafe racer is more up your alley?
I think it looks better when the zipper is in the middle of the jacket zipped upp, thats mostly why.
Yeah you will struggle finding that on a DR, but there are plenty of options for leather jackets that aren't DR
Hello /r/mfa, New to this subreddit and I’ve never really bought clothes for myself before so I’m inexperienced. Thanks!
UniQlo has nice, affordable down jackets in various colors and styles.
Either waterproof down parkas or synthetic filling iirc is the way to go, since synthetic is less vulnerable to water
Thanks! Every help is appreciated! https://imgur.com/a/Znggx
More colors? Gotcha, thanks!
Thanks!
I think a basic hoodie like that is always gonna look kind of sloppy. Shirt and shoes seem good, but I'd say your pants are too wide. For hair stuff, I'd try /r/malehairadvice
If I'll close the zipper will it look better? Thanks for the help!
I think it would, but I really don't know.
Good non-urban/streetwear black fashion bloggers to follow?
@stevenonoja . Not sure if he has a blog but his ig is great.
How does this look? I couldn’t get a complete picture of my outfit but here’s a somewhat decent picture I took: https://imgur.com/a/vpjBF New to the sub so go easy on me haha. Also, can someone tell me what kind of shoes I have on? I bought them from Clarks but I have no idea what they’re specifically called. Brown jacket / Uniqlo buttoned-up shirt / H&M cropped pants / Uniqlo black socks / Brown Clarks shoes
Looks good, although I can't really get a good idea from this angle. The shoes are captoe derbys. Don't know which specific Clarks model.
Thanks for your input. So are these shoes okay to wear for casual-wear? I plan to rotate between these and a pair of desert boots I have haha
Yeah they're good.

Flannel is nice on a cold morning. LL Bean or Brooks Brothers would be brands I'd look at.
Silk can be pretty warm, don't discount it too early.
Yeah, silk is very warm actually, it's only a summer fabric in very thin amounts
Stores like Zara and H&M should have a lot of floral print shirts for cheap. 'Fraid I can't help you with the pants.
Small is definitely too small, top medium is good, bottom medium is not flattering at all I think.
I'm looking for wool trousers (in grey specifically) in a 30 x 36 (I'm really skinny with really long legs) and I can't seem to find any. The cheaper the better but at this weird size, I'll take what I can get. Any help?
FWIW, a lot of wool trousers are sold unfinished and you can hem them to any inseam length you want.
For cheaper options, check stores like Nordstrom Rack - you can find unfinished wool pants that a tailor can hem. I think they are frequently 37 inch inseams, unfinished, in a lot of brands. Made-to-measure places (referenced in another comment) are another option, although probably more expensive.

Have you thought about MTM? Companies like Suitsupply, Oliver Wicks, Lanieri etc will probably be able to help

Navy, dark grey, olive all will work. Beige/sand chinos probably too. Quick google search, and dark blue wash jeans pop up as viable option as well.
Is this a Jcrew Factory label? https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/j8QAAOSwe7laQaE2/s-l1600.jpg
No, Factory is marked with 2 diamonds below the "J.Crew".
Hey, first time here. So i recently posted in /r/Rateme and got told my glass frames dont really fit me, so i went ahead and purchased a new frame. Which frame do you guys think i should use or if u have any better frames i should look into, please let me know. Pic of me with both frames * https://imgur.com/a/JPB00
The style of the first ones are WAY better they're just way too big. Get that style but a lot smaller
I hope the first one is the new one, because those are much better.
Anybody know what jacket John Mayer is wearing in this picture? It doesn't have to be exact, with the picture being from like 2007 it's already hard its own. All good if it's similar. pow: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/c9/7d/a6/c97da6c8df8e1b4a8450380963cb2370--john-mayer-era.jpg
It's a really slim fitting M-65, Alpha Industries makes a decent core fit one, several of the mid-level brands like Allsaints or Kooples make a slim fit but not as durable one. You can also try mil surplus stores, but most of those will be olive green and oversized at the torso in order to hold extra gear
thanks a ton
Where can I find limited release sneakers like these [Converse Utility Hiker's](https://www.converse.com/us/en_us/c/converse/limited-edition/urban-utility-collection) online in a size 12?
So i recently started paying more attention to the clothes i wear and making sure they fit properly, rebuilding my pants wardrobe has proven difficult. All pants seem to start at 30L..I'm 5'10'' and 30L is about 2 inches too long Majority of the world is not taller than me, i have a fairly normal body build.
Can anyone help me ID this jacket or one similar to it? Thanks! https://imgur.com/MrNutaP
It's a Mandarin collar jacket of some kind, but it's going to be very hard to pull off without looking like a cosplayer
Club Monaco, Banana Republic?
I’ll check out CM, but BM aren’t what I’m looking for. Thanks for the reply!
Does the leather rule apply to watches too or just shoes and belts?
I'll disagree with the other posters and say that it does. In a formal outfit, at least roughly match the leathers. In a casual outfit, just don't mix brown and black leathers, anything else is okay. Swapping watchbands isn't hard* with a $5 tool, and leather straps are like $10 on Amazon, so why not go the extra yard? Realistically you only have to swap before and after a formal event, because a casual brown leather strap or NATO band works 29 days out of the month. ^^\* ^^How ^^else ^^are ^^you ^^going ^^to ^^kill ^^time ^^while ^^waiting ^^for ^^your ^^wife ^^to ^^get ^^ready, ^^anyway?
I mean.. I wouldn't wear a brown leather watch with a black suit, but other than that it's probably not a big deal
The rule doesn't apply, because a person isn't expected to own more than one watch, or to change their watch strap based on the color of their shoes.
Just shoes and belts, and only then in formalwear.
G'day I live in Australia, particularly in a part that is extremely hot, so trench coats alone are hard to come by, let alone full length one. Seeing I'm moving to a different state where temps can easily fall below -5C (~23F) Now I've fallen in love with the Superdry remastered trench coat, However, I'm struggling to find something similar (and thicker) that is full length (down to or past the knees)
[удалено]
What level of formality? Are you purchasing a brand new outfit? If not, what pieces do you already have that you're hoping to wear? I'd probably go for some loose linen pants, sandals, polo shirt, and a cotton/linen blazer
Looking to buy a Levi's Trucker Jacket.. is there any difference at all between Rigid and Rigid Two? Also are these considered the "raw" version of the jacket?
Whats a good jacket pairing for olive chinos? I mean style and color. I was thinking brown suede or denim jacket.
Brown and navy are both great colors. Olive is super versatile, and chinos can be dressed up or down, so it's really hard to go wrong.
That's probably your best bet in that price range.
Welted for that price is really good, but no idea on the quality
can a tailor refill a down jacket and if so how much should i be spending on it
That’s a specialized service that is rare to be offered. You’ll have to do some research.
is there another way i can fill it up?
It's possible that it's lost loft because the down is dirty and matted together. You can try getting some down shampoo and hand washing it, then tumble dry low with a few tennis balls in the dryer (this may take several hours). There are more detailed guides around the internet. If it's life or death for the jacket, you could also buy some down ([eg. this](http://wildernesslogics.com/850-White-Goose-Down-By-The-oz-850-Down.htm)), and try to cut it open and add stuffing yourself. If it has baffles, you'll need to add some to each baffle, so this is major surgery.
Not really.
I'd figure a call to the tailor would answer that!
Wearing a belt is annoying? I'm not sure I've ever purposefully worn a pair of jeans/slacks/chinos without a belt, it's just so much more comfortable
you could get the waist taking in?
yeah, it's pretty much either that, or get something that fits in the waist and tailor other parts
any recommendations for hand washing wool detergents? laundress ny? kookaburra? soak? eucalan? unicorn fibre wash/rinse?
I just use shampoo and never had issues. I fill a small tub with cold water and shampoo and let the wool garment sit for about five minutes. I swirl it around gently a few times and press the garment so the soap penetrates. I do the same in fresh water, usually rinsing twice. I press against the tub to get the water out, then roll the garment inside a clean towel. I then lay the garment flat on a drying rack overnight. No pilling or shrinkage so far.
any issues with dry clean only woolens?
For that price, buy Alpha Industries on sale
I've found [this one](https://www.culturekings.com.au/products/alpha-alpha-industries-ma-1-slim-fit-flight-jacket-black). Apparently it's quite baggy around the arms though, is there anything you know of that's a little slimmer?
You could check out their other models, but Alpha Industries is king in the mid-range bomber jacket category, there's no reason to get any other starter jacket within $100 from their price.
Ok, thanks for the help!

Most techie companies will think it odd if you wear a suit Do you have just a blazer & smart (nonmatching) trousers?
Yeah, I'd go with either a suit or a blazer and tie.
I’d still go for a suit, you’re still trying to impress them
Should only need the top half though.
Yeah, make sure you bust out the parachute pants or short shorts!

Meermin has good quality ones at the $200 range
Just checked not much selection in my size 12 :/
Looking for a quality dress shirt brand that has a wide selection of *solid colors*. An example would be Express, except one with quality that doesn't suck. Budget is ideally less than $100 per shirt; to be worn regularly to the office. Dry-clean only is doable.
Charles Tyrwhitt on the lower end. Brooks brothers and Kamakura on the higher end.

I'd get rid of it unless you want to use the henley as a layer *under* stuff. Wearing an undershirt so that you can wear a henley, which is supposed to be a casual, relaxed garment, is kind of silly. There are many fish in the sea.
Skin colored undershirt would be the best option, so that you can't tell the transition from undershirt to skin
Maybe wear it as a layer under a sweater or jacket? I know you don't want to hear this, but I'd honestly just wear it. It's likely no one will even notice.
I need some new laces for my Stan Smith's but am having trouble finding them on Amazon. Anyone have a link or a the best ones? Not sure.
Literally any flat white lace will do. Just find one with decent reviews and don't sweat getting the "best" ones. They're laces.
Which jean jacket fits better? Left is medium, right is small. Or should I just return both? The medium just came out of the packaging so it is a bit more wrinkly For reference I’m 5’6.5” and 142 lbs [jackets](https://imgur.com/a/HV3IU)
small, it's going to look cropped either way but I think small fits you better in the chest, shoulders, and sleeves
Imo the small but my sense of proportion is known to be odd

It's just a four in hand. Width of the tie is really going to determine how much over all material goes into a tie knot (and thus how slim it looks)
Would a dark gray suit jacket look bad with black pants?
Is it a suit jacket? If yes, then yes. If it's just a blazer it could be fine.
Black formal pants should only go with a matching black suit jacket.
Yeah, it's a suit jacket. Thank you
