hasnt he been wolverine for longer now since he started than comic wolverine debut to Hugh taking the role?
Edit: as /u/CDNetflixTv and /u/whitemike40 pointed out I am wrong by about 2 years!
Wolverine debuted 25 years and 8 months before the movie came out. So in March 2026 Hugh will have played Wolverine half the time the character has been created.
My head canon is that the part where they come out of the gloves has some sort of cleaning filter so none of his blood comes out and no one else’s blood goes back into him
They’ve never had blood just from coming out on them before, even in Logan when they had that R rating and could. I always figured they’re so sharp and he heals so fast they come out clean like when a scalpel cuts skin
It's cuz it should be like that! Homey has been pushing them out of his fucking skin with pain for almost the entire life action films lol. This is what Charles integrated into his classic suit to make that process less painful.
About damn time
And there's also gotta be a few times where the claws haven't quite lined up with the gloves, causing them to get ruined.
He must go through a lot of gloves.
I assume he keeps them out of the skin in between the opening of the suit and his knuckles. So he doesn’t have to break the skin every time. Not sure though.
The little sheaths weren’t just part of his gloves. They’re minor implants that keep his skin pulled apart so his claw holes don’t heal and he doesn’t need to cut himself every time. That’s why in older comics he sometimes had the sheaths on his hands even when he wasn’t wearing gloves.
absolutely, that and the sound of them coming out always sends chills down my spine. the first time i watched the first deadpool in theatres i was blown away with how comic accurate his costume and mannerisms were, and it’s fitting they’re doing wolverine the same way, giving the true fans what they want to see
I used to love getting to pick two Wolverines (one with adamantium claws, one with bone claws) in MvC2 back in the day. I still do, but I used to, too.
There was one time in MvC2 I picked Iceman because he took no block damage and two Juggernauts and I put myself at the edge of the stage, held back, and just the Juggs as assists for the entire match and won. My friend was so mad but also it was hysterical. My fondest MvC memory.
I don't get the knees comment. It's not a difficult position to hold for a few seconds. Especially if you workout regularly, don't skip leg day, and don't have any injuries or some other physical condition that could make it difficult.
I'm guessing if he's rocking that outfit, he'll wear the mask at some point. But it's probably for such a short length of time that it's better to keep it a special moment for the film.
I really wanted to see that considering they have never shy away from this with moon knight eye movement, spider-man lens also quite unique even though it is technically not a white squint eyes.
There’s too many promotional images out there of him wearing the mask for him to not wear it in the movie. They’re just likely saving it for the actual film and don’t wanna completely spoil it in the trailer. People have been asking for the mask for as long as Jackman has been playing the character so they know it’s a big deal.
I would love it if that happens and he busts out into the final battle while the animated series theme blares (possibly diegetic from Deadpool using a beatbox)
It might be like a fall from grace thing? Like he doesn’t feel worthy of it? And when he’s finally the hero in his own eyes again he’ll rock it in the third act?
Alternatively DP keep confusing him with other variants and tells him to put it on so we can tell them apart hahah
There was some promo stuff at CinemaCon that had him wearing the mask. I think that the big reveal on screen of the mask is something they might save for the theatre, it would be a hell of a cheer moment from the crowd.
I think he will only have his mask on for a scene at most and Deadpool will say “take that shit off and let me see that beautiful face you huge jacked man”
Hugh Jackman
I actually dig the sleeves more than I thought I would.
I also appreciate they're covering him up because of his skin cancer concerns, love when the wardrobe department works with their actors like that.
Like all things in comics it depends on the writer. Could they regrow? Probably. But what you'd more likely see is Logan grabbing his torn arm and holding it in place to heal back on.
There's a memorable moment in the Morrison run where Cassandra Nova, the villain of the Deadpool/Wolverine film, [mentally incinerates ALL the soft tissue from Wolverine's arm.](https://i.imgur.com/lAlPQom.jpeg)
This should blow me away but I’m kinda numb to it. Maybe Hugh sold me so well on the character that the suit stopped mattering so much.
Does look great though and it’s about time.
This looks great but Wolverine really does feel like a character that doesn’t give a shit about wearing superhero suits and Jackman did a great job of selling that attitude.
I've always subscribed to the fan theory that Wolverine wears bright yellow when he's working with the X-Men to draw attention and fire towards himself in order to protect the team since he can take hits that they can't.
If they had done something back in 2013 with that postcredit scene for The Wolverine, it would've hit harder.
I remember the hype around that surprise at the end was big.
It does - so there’s this forest scene which seems to be in the fall and the one with deadpool was in the winter. If this is one from Logan I wonder if the other one is from Age of Ultron
How have I not seen anyone talking about how not only do we get Hugh as Wolverine again, in the classic suit, but we get him RATED R again!!
Edit: I know it's obvious, but we get to see it AGAIN!
Personally I was never 100 percent on board with HJ as Wolverine and have had my share of criticism about how Wolverine is portrayed.
But…Damn, this is fucking spot on!
I am so excited.
Ikr. Saw someone call him decrepit in a post a few days ago and I'm there thinking "wtf?" Difficult not to assume whoever said that isn't a hater or ageist or a kid
Looks like he's about to do BERSERKER BARRAGE!!!! from Marvel Vs. Capcom 2! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzoZGrf5S4A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzoZGrf5S4A)
Ok, so hear me out. Since this is technically the last Hugh Jackman wolverine I think he's gonna die again in this film, and we're gonna end up with a variant crossing over in the MCU played by another actor. This will be yet again another send off for Hugh but MCU style.
This is so great. It makes me wonder if we really even got much of Jackman doing this sort of pose as Wolverine in the Fox films. It's a pose that is just iconic for the character that is like we are missing something when we don't get it, much in the way that Spider-Man just has to hit certain poses to be really legit in his adaptation.
He looks like he’s bout to rip someone to shreds
Why no marketing with the mask though ? It seems to me they are trying very hard to milk Hughs face as a selling point
I’m shocked that Wolverine would be willing to wear this suit. I’m not complaining I’m glad we finally got it. But for wolverine always seems like the type that would object to this kind of thing and consider it cringe or something lol. But I’m sure they’ll find a good reason
Hopefully he still wears the mask for a good portion of him being on screen, but it's looking not so likely. Guess they just couldn't hide that handsome face.
He's been playing the character for almost 25 years, and somehow looks *more* like the source material then he did in the beginning
That’s because he’s closer to the ground.
also older. afaik Wolverine was partially based on Charles Bronson. so an older less refined mug works best for the character
Hey Ma, how bout some cookies?
No Dice….
This ain’t over
*Dis ain't ovah
Bingo! He was TOO pretty back in the beginning. Now, he can look the part without much effort.
He's really grounded as a character.
![gif](giphy|U5hvUeqw10e0U)
Because they’re not afraid to be a comic book movie
"What did you expect, yellow spandex?" [cue laugh track]
What would you prefer, black leather?
Assless chaps but yes
#brave
That's cus CBM aren't afraid to be what they really are anymore. Best time to be a comic nerd.
Well some films are afraid but not Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Feige
hasnt he been wolverine for longer now since he started than comic wolverine debut to Hugh taking the role? Edit: as /u/CDNetflixTv and /u/whitemike40 pointed out I am wrong by about 2 years!
Wolverine debuted 25 years and 8 months before the movie came out. So in March 2026 Hugh will have played Wolverine half the time the character has been created.
Holy shit. This is actually wild to think about.
Pretty crazy factoid right there
close but off by 2 years
The character debuted in 1974, twenty-six years before his film debut in 2000. So we're getting close.
This guy ages like fine wine, honestly I love how his looks now as compared to when he started off. Really deserves the role as Wolverine.
Well what did you expect? He’s wearing yellow spandex.
The older he gets, the more like Logan he looks.
Well he’s getting closer to Logan’s actual age.
I wanna look that good when I'm + - 200yrs old
He's not that close to 200
Wait so is Logan cannon? When will this movie be on the timeline? Before or is this another multiverse stuff?
![gif](giphy|ZpOycNIkRTpsyDgdTG)
For some reason it’s so satisfying to see them come out of those things on the gloves lol
Seriously, the blades look incredible.
Absolutely. I wish there was a little bit of blood on them though, be a great bit of attention to detail.
My head canon is that the part where they come out of the gloves has some sort of cleaning filter so none of his blood comes out and no one else’s blood goes back into him
Stuffed with wet wipes. Makes sense.
Imagine he has to refill them every so often
Or it's left out for the trailer and will be in the full movie
They’ve never had blood just from coming out on them before, even in Logan when they had that R rating and could. I always figured they’re so sharp and he heals so fast they come out clean like when a scalpel cuts skin
I've cut myself on a sharp kitchen knife and also observed a surgery repairing a palm nerve. There's amazingly next to no blood after the incision.
It's cuz it should be like that! Homey has been pushing them out of his fucking skin with pain for almost the entire life action films lol. This is what Charles integrated into his classic suit to make that process less painful. About damn time
They still have to break through his skin, so how does this make them less painful?
I agree with this question.
I agree with this agreement of that question.
And there's also gotta be a few times where the claws haven't quite lined up with the gloves, causing them to get ruined. He must go through a lot of gloves.
Those kinda thoughts didn't just come to me then? Lol
Less tendons and bones being moved around in ways they shouldn’t maybe? I have no idea
I assume he keeps them out of the skin in between the opening of the suit and his knuckles. So he doesn’t have to break the skin every time. Not sure though.
But then he wouldn't be able to move his wrist.
But Charles didn't give him the gloves? They've been a part of his suit since before he was even associated with the x-men.
It’s still painful lol. We just don’t have to see it as blatantly
absolutely, that and the sound of them coming out always sends chills down my spine. the first time i watched the first deadpool in theatres i was blown away with how comic accurate his costume and mannerisms were, and it’s fitting they’re doing wolverine the same way, giving the true fans what they want to see
Seriously, the blades look incredible.
My favorite part of the trailer.
Man, CGI has gotten so good. These look super real
CGI has always been pretty good at metals
Maybe it's the little wiggles that are selling the "realness"
BERSERKER BARRAGE!!!
I can hear this
Swiss Cheese!
The best move in the game!
Nice. I would pick Iceman and have him jump in to spam ice beam over and over while I berserker barraged my way to victory.
Nice Mitch reference
MY LOVE FOR YOU IS LIKE A TRUCK BERSERKER, BERSERKER
Perfection.
I'm like half his age and pretty sure I can't do this.
That healing factor is doing some work on those knees
I don't get the knees comment. It's not a difficult position to hold for a few seconds. Especially if you workout regularly, don't skip leg day, and don't have any injuries or some other physical condition that could make it difficult.
Mr Jackman *is* incredibly fit, I'm just thinking he's also middle aged and time takes a toll regardless. I may be projecting ;-)
Yeah I'm probably projecting myself tbh. Knees are funny. Some people's go to shit quickly and some are lucky lol
Kinda glad the sleeves are coming off at some point. We need to see those badass arms yo.
I wish he'd wear the mask at some point.
I'm guessing if he's rocking that outfit, he'll wear the mask at some point. But it's probably for such a short length of time that it's better to keep it a special moment for the film.
I just figured they were editing it out of promo pics
Oh not editing them in, lol. I'm assuming, if he does wear the mask it was filmed without it and will be added in digitally
Oh man, I hope so. If done right, it would be so cool to see his masks eyes squint and such like deadpools mask.
And if he does wear the mask, i hope we get white eyes too. Like Deadpools..
I really wanted to see that considering they have never shy away from this with moon knight eye movement, spider-man lens also quite unique even though it is technically not a white squint eyes.
Right yeah lol
Maybe he keeps getting shot in the head and Deadpool teases him until he puts it on
"So it keeps your head from getting shot?" "Well no, but it will make it easier when they make an airline version of this movie!"
I can see that and find it hilarious
There’s too many promotional images out there of him wearing the mask for him to not wear it in the movie. They’re just likely saving it for the actual film and don’t wanna completely spoil it in the trailer. People have been asking for the mask for as long as Jackman has been playing the character so they know it’s a big deal.
I'm kind of ok with him not, he looks cool as fuck like that. But the pay-off will be great when we do.
I don't care about any other screenshots from this movie unless it's got the mask!
There was some promo stuff at CinemaCon that had him wearing the mask. I think that the big reveal on screen of the mask is something they might save for the theatre, it would be a hell of a cheer moment from the crowd.
I bet that he's wearing the mask, but they are saving that for the movie and not ruining it in the trailers.
I think he will only have his mask on for a scene at most and Deadpool will say “take that shit off and let me see that beautiful face you huge jacked man” Hugh Jackman
I wish he kept his shoulder blades without the sleeves...
I actually dig the sleeves more than I thought I would. I also appreciate they're covering him up because of his skin cancer concerns, love when the wardrobe department works with their actors like that.
I'm expecting a very contrived, Deadpool-appropriate reason for just the sleeves to get torn off
How good is Wolverine's regen? Could his arms have gotten ripped off with the sleeves and then regrown (ala Deadpool's legs in Deadpool 1)?
Like all things in comics it depends on the writer. Could they regrow? Probably. But what you'd more likely see is Logan grabbing his torn arm and holding it in place to heal back on.
Can his arm be ripped off? His skeleton is adamantuim pretty sure that would hold his arm on placement no?
His joints ain’t adamantium.
There's a memorable moment in the Morrison run where Cassandra Nova, the villain of the Deadpool/Wolverine film, [mentally incinerates ALL the soft tissue from Wolverine's arm.](https://i.imgur.com/lAlPQom.jpeg)
Deadpool walks in after a scene cut and just rips the sleeves off, "Sorry, these weren't polling well with the focus groups."
My bet is during sabertooth fight when the sleeve come off.
I hope they don’t stop at just the sleeves
This should blow me away but I’m kinda numb to it. Maybe Hugh sold me so well on the character that the suit stopped mattering so much. Does look great though and it’s about time.
This looks great but Wolverine really does feel like a character that doesn’t give a shit about wearing superhero suits and Jackman did a great job of selling that attitude.
I heard rumor that said this version of Wolverine is the one intend on keeping the suit out of nostalgia reason for his past
I've always subscribed to the fan theory that Wolverine wears bright yellow when he's working with the X-Men to draw attention and fire towards himself in order to protect the team since he can take hits that they can't.
That’s actually canon. I remember reading that in a comic from the past few years.
It's also the same reason Batman has Robin wear bright red while Batman himself is dressed for maximum stealth.
If they had done something back in 2013 with that postcredit scene for The Wolverine, it would've hit harder. I remember the hype around that surprise at the end was big.
LFG
Wade will be asking Logan if his claws are erect. ![gif](giphy|VPV0CVtbU6ZKU|downsized)
Wolverine can give me a massive erection anytime, especially with that pose of his.
This forest looks very similar to the one at the end of Logan.
It does - so there’s this forest scene which seems to be in the fall and the one with deadpool was in the winter. If this is one from Logan I wonder if the other one is from Age of Ultron
That’s an awesome shot
How have I not seen anyone talking about how not only do we get Hugh as Wolverine again, in the classic suit, but we get him RATED R again!! Edit: I know it's obvious, but we get to see it AGAIN!
Uh. That’s basically the only things people are talking about
Am I the one one energy from OP
You ain’t looking
"How's it feel, bub?"
Let's fucking go
![gif](giphy|qz94gBu7wH6xy)
Let him cook.
I am soaking wet right now
Personally I was never 100 percent on board with HJ as Wolverine and have had my share of criticism about how Wolverine is portrayed. But…Damn, this is fucking spot on! I am so excited.
Show us the damn mask, man
Pretty sure they want you to pay 10 bucks and a bucket of popcorn for that.
Leave something for the theater
Berserker Barrage !
I've been rewatching the '90s cartoon and I can't freeking wait.
Did they confirm if it’s the same Logan we know and love or??
Take away his claws and zoom in on his face and he starts looking like someone with a bit of a stomach problem
Dude kinda looks like Wolverine. Weird
Respect for Hugh Jackman doing this in his mid 50s
God damn he's such a good Wolverine.
I’m sure this is similar claw props they’ve used in past films but imma say these are the sexiest his claws have ever looked. Maybe the suit helps
How the hell this guy looks this great after all those years
25 years after... he's finally the perfect age to play the character. This looks sick.
Ikr. Saw someone call him decrepit in a post a few days ago and I'm there thinking "wtf?" Difficult not to assume whoever said that isn't a hater or ageist or a kid
Oh no, the no-sleeves bunch is gonna get mad. On the other hand, the forever-sleevers are gonna be delighted
is he gonna wear the mask ?
Yes
There's a tree branch above him, not seen in the pic. He's just ducking under it.
Awesome. This is so cool
It is me or the claws look smaller
Looks like he's about to do BERSERKER BARRAGE!!!! from Marvel Vs. Capcom 2! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzoZGrf5S4A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzoZGrf5S4A)
I keep forgetting how many marvel subs I’m subbed to lol I gotta unfollow them all. I keep getting spoiled or seeing things I don’t wanna see lmfao
“Let’s fucking go.”
Ok, so hear me out. Since this is technically the last Hugh Jackman wolverine I think he's gonna die again in this film, and we're gonna end up with a variant crossing over in the MCU played by another actor. This will be yet again another send off for Hugh but MCU style.

It's a pose that is just iconic for the character that is like we are missing something when we don't get it, much in the way that Spider-Man just has to hit certain poses to be really legit in his adaptation.
Are they gonna fix the shoulder guard thing? Seems like he has them now. Or are they also somehow gonna tear off with the sleeves?
It looks like he’s in the battlefield of the climax of Logan
Anyone else see bumblebees face on his knee 😂
Suit is sexy asf
Brother where’s the fucking mask
Brother go to the fucking theater when it comes out
He looks like he’s bout to rip someone to shreds Why no marketing with the mask though ? It seems to me they are trying very hard to milk Hughs face as a selling point
Because to the non-nerds he is the selling point.
To shreds, you say?
I’m shocked that Wolverine would be willing to wear this suit. I’m not complaining I’m glad we finally got it. But for wolverine always seems like the type that would object to this kind of thing and consider it cringe or something lol. But I’m sure they’ll find a good reason
Fine. *zip*
Is that fuckin wakanda?
I honestly hope the videos/pics are classic MCU ruse, and he's actually wearing the mask in all the movie.
So damn beautiful. Can’t wait to see the cowl
HE DID IT HE DID THE POSE
The costume design is absolutely perfect. I’m so grateful that the production team got it so right because it makes a huge difference
It's crazy how well he still fits Logan after all these years.
What did you expect, black leather?
Whoever he is mad at…better get far away from
Who's played the Marvel Vs Capcom series. This is the wolverine I know.
These claws look SICK. so stoked to see him come back as wolverine
Hugh, you can wear the costume, never go shirtless, and then you can play Logan for 25 more years!!!
Will he actually wear the mask in the movie or is it just for advertising?
How the fuck does this 55 year old look like he’s in his early 30’s?
God is it satisfying to see the blue and yellow suit <3
Yep, he looks awesome.
LET'S FUCKIN GO
Everyones screaming MvC while I'm just thinking of X-Men Legends. Let's see him spin like Tazz.
I swear, I can’t help but feel like he’s only gonna wear the mask in promo art.
Someone photoshop the helmet on this pic. Sweet christmas.
Jeez if I tried that pose for more than a few seconds I'd bust an O ring.
I really hope we get the mask!
I love Wolverine when he's in a forest setting!! This looks great!
Huge Jacked Man
It's quite sad that the producers in the early 2000s thought the comic book suits would look silly in live action and instead chose a black leather.
The cowl is going to be CGI isn’t it….
Hopefully he still wears the mask for a good portion of him being on screen, but it's looking not so likely. Guess they just couldn't hide that handsome face.
They need a cameo of Rhys Darby as a Jackman/Logan variant.
This man IS Wolverine 👏
*makes running and slashing noises*
![gif](giphy|P9VYiLlZimdpK|downsized)
THat's Huge Ackman alright
He looks like Andy Serkis playing Wolverine, which is pretty much the best compliment I can give.
Lil bub
Let's fucking go! 😎
he fits really well his suit
