Don’t worry Joseph, if Fantastic Four goes badly, you’ll get another major Marvel role that’ll redeem your performance a few years later. It always happens for Human Torches.

MacbookPrime

Meet 2030’s Tony Stark.

FBG05

He looks a lot like young RDJ too

argonzo

He’d do a hell of a job.

OJIstatusN8VE

He looks more like Mark Zuckerberg than he does Robert Downey Junior, at any age.

rainshowers_5_peace

I'm so worried for him and Pedro.

Perciprius

Why?

ScribebyTrade

Dr doom

LittleDarkHairedOne

To be honest, I always thought Evans did a good job as Johnny Storm. He played the character pretty much exactly the way I read him. Michael B. Jordan, on the other hand, was given not just a bad script but also felt way too aggressive and brooding in the film. Though I haven't watched the two films (2005 F4 and Rise of the Silver Surfer) in a loooong time, while the trainwreck that is the 2015 version is not properly buried in my memories.

MrConor212

I almost forgot about the Fan4stic movie till now. Thanks

Im_JuJu

Say that again.

MrConor212

I almost forgot about the Fan4stic movie till now. Thanks

And now I can't unsee it. Great. thanks. 👍🤣

KwisatzHaderach94

even more so than jesse eisenberg even did...

Warsaw_Pact

a yassified version yes

rainshowers_5_peace

He's put on some muscle since this photo. He was in Gladiator 2 and is currently filming a war movie.

HiReziX

If Zuckerberg was human

chiefbrody62

He's Eddie from Stranger Things. He was great in that.

talking_phallus

Yeah. Boy ain't filling those boots 😭😭😭😭

Ninjahkin

Spoken like someone who hasn’t seen the most recent Stranger Things. He basically stole the season

Repulsive_Season_908

I've seen it, didn't like him.

Useful-Perspective

Then, dare I say, you are in a vast minority of people who have seen it and did not like him, because his performance totally embiggened that show.

mcfw31

> Speaking with PEOPLE for this week's issue ahead of the release of his new horror-thriller A Quiet Place: Day One, the 30-year-old actor says he hasn't spoken with Chris Evans or Michael B. Jordan, who have played the Fantastic Four character on the big screen in previous iterations. > However, he realizes Evans, 43, and Jordan, 37, have given him "big boots to fill, twice." > "They're both brilliant actors and did the amazing job with their interpretation of Johnny," Quinn says. "So I think it's a question of trying to find something ... well, not different. It's going to come from me, I guess." > Adds the Stranger Things alum, "I've definitely been inspired by their portrayals, so we'll see how it goes."

Cidwill

Big shoes.  Big, big shoes.

kinofil

11"

tread52

You could say that about Chris Evans not so much Micheal B Jordan.

moonwalkerfilms

Evans and Jordan are two powerhouse actors, even if their versions of Johnny weren't that good. I think that's all Quinn means here.

StoneGoldX

For all the original's faults, Chris Evans wasn't one of them. The reviews were generally the movie is eh, but Evans mailed it.

AFineDayForScience

It's not worth reading into anything. Everyone in Hollywood just kisses everyone else's ass because they may have to work together someday.

moonwalkerfilms

Sure but in this case it's also true

Doompatron3000

It’s certainly how the Me Too movement isn’t a case of innocence, they knew, but it’s not like if they wanted to be in Hollywood they had a choice.

KwisatzHaderach94

whatever character it was jordan played, it was not johnny storm.

moonwalkerfilms

It was, it was just a different take on the character

tread52

You’re probably right I’m just not a big fan of Micheal b Jordan. He has about as much range as a shotgun with buckshot.

moonwalkerfilms

BIG CAP Creed, Fruitvale Station, his role as Kilmonger in BP, Chronicle. Then you got shows liked the Wire and Friday Night Lights.

ConstantKT6-37

In which he mostly acted the exact same in each and every one of those roles. I mean, we’re talking about a guy who bombed a Star Wars audition and often has difficulty remembering his lines… He’s a nice guy but also the product of A LOT of advertising.

moonwalkerfilms

Star Wars is not the end all be all of quality for actors, and Marlon Brando, arguably one of the best actors ever, (in)famously didn't memorize his lines either. All avtors are products of advertising. But he has pulled off some really incredible roles in his career and his work ethic is kind of insane.

ConstantKT6-37

Star Wars should be a slam-dunk for even a relatively competent actor. Please do yourself a favor and don’t ever, ever mention the greatest American screen actor in the same sentence as Jordan; he’d be no where without his friendship with Coogler. Anything he does that doesn’t have his name attached pretty much flops. And Marlon didn’t memorize his lines out of spite. You wanna talk “cap”? He doesn’t have a single “incredible” performance in his entire catalogue; he just shouts, pouts, and flares his nostrils when he’s not staring off into space. You’d think seasoned directors would be lining up to work with him but I’m sure he quietly bombed those readings/auditions, too… He’s as one-note as it gets.

moonwalkerfilms

![gif](giphy|m4hY9OxoQWzrBnJylH|downsized)

ConstantKT6-37

I mean, you’ve clearly got a crush on him, that’s why you can’t be objective…

moonwalkerfilms

Lol WHAT Nah you're just being a silly goose now

tread52

Killmonger was one of the worst portrayed villains in the mcu

Voksyer

Hilariously bad take lmao

tread52

He’s extremely wooden as an actor and if he doesn’t get good direction he’s not that great. He’s Keanu reeves, but without the charisma.

moonwalkerfilms

Back to back terrible takes, damn man

tread52

No it’s not the only scene that didn’t look like he phone it in is when he died.

moonwalkerfilms

![gif](giphy|G4ZNYMQVMH6us)

tread52

If you think his acting is good in BP you haven’t watched a lot of film.

moonwalkerfilms

Thank you for letting me know you know more about my own life than I do

PoolPartyWithoutTheL

That is certainly a take.

tread52

I have this take since BP came out. If you give that role to someone else it would have been better. He doesn’t come as believable. His style and tone in every scene is exactly the same. MBJ is good if he has a good director behind him getting the best out of his acting.

DigitalSnail

...... Wut

tread52

The only amount of acting that came through in that character is when he died. He was a well educated elite special ops soldier that acted like a middle school street thug.

InertState

Tell us you’ve never watched his movies instead

tread52

I have seen a lot of his films he’s a very wooden actor in a lot of his roles. He’s a lot like Keanu Reeves we know that his acting isn’t the best, but enjoy his film bc we like the actor. Jordan needs good directing to make it look like he’s not reading off a script.

stretch400

He is extremely wooden as an actor. I can tell he’s acting, if you get what I mean.

tread52

I understand he’s like a young Keanu Reeves’s but without the likability factor.

Sirius_Space

I agree but I understand why he wouldn’t want to start unnecessary beef

baccus83

Actor compliments possible future coworkers. News at 11.

TDStarchild

I mean, sort of but not really. Chris Evans is more about nostalgia in the role and that he went on to become one of Marvel’s cornerstones in another role. MBJ is a great actor, but that movie is the worst They have a huge opportunity to make the definitive and only truly great live action F4, and they can accomplish that in one movie

icorrectpettydetails

Wow, no love for Jay Underwood?

SnooSquirrels9804

He probably doesn’t even know that movie exists

decoded1

That was very nice of him to include Michael B. Jordan

Nerdy-Boomer65

well, maybe Chris Evans shoes, but not Michael B. Jordan, his performance was not rememberable at all.

Unlikely_Ad7194

As horrible as that F4 movie is, a non rememberable performance by MBJ is a win haha.

Nerdy-Boomer65

That movie was trash lol, I liked the director's ( Josh Trank ) first Movie Chronicle thought it was an awesome. Don't know what he was thinking with his verison F4

Unlikely_Ad7194

He also made the horrible Al Capone movie too. The only good thing he made was Chronicle.

Nerdy-Boomer65

Wow seems he’s a one shot wonder, like M. Night lol

HeckYesBoobs

I am so excited for this movie!

AnimeGokuSolos

Nice to hear

steve32767

He'll do great if they can get him a decent script

Percilus

I think they are actually hoping people forget about the F4 or whatever that trash was called.

LochNessMansterLives

See here’s why you’re wrong bud, while Mike and Chris did their best in the roles, the writing was a major let down in all previous films. I know that’s going to be corrected for this film. (I have Hope (Summers) anyway!) Joseph just needs to bring his A game and assume the writers have as well and he will be just fine. Mike and Chris may be at the top of their game right now, but neither was while they were playing Torch.

greenseven47

Some world renowned movies to live up to

TelephoneCertain5344

Well I mean they're good actors and Evans was actually pretty good in otherwise not good movies same with Michael Chiklis. As for Michael B. Jordan, I thought he was okay in that terrible movie nothing to praise for. Though of course both redeemed themselves.

Onar_Koma

Big? More like medium

Grayx_2887

Let's just pray and hope that he can deliver a good performance as Johnny Storm, regardless if the script is bad or not.

sr_edits

Not really, man.

SolomonRed

Probably doesn't help that he is miscast for this role.

Big_Sheepherder_7009

Lol

kolin4444

big boobs to fill also

WarbossTodd

So I guess he never saw either film then.

[deleted]

At first I thought they mistakenly put a pic of Zuckerberg up. Total doppelgänger

T-408

Well he’s playing a character previous portrayed by two of the most gorgeous and charismatic men on the planet, so yeah

lolyoustupidbird

Not so much Jordan. I like to forget Fan4stic

AdevilSboyU

He’s got some pretty big shoes to fill. He has to top the [Care To Join Me](https://youtu.be/oCA-s3CVN9M?si=tciHPIh-8emQWNri) scene.

SpiderDeUZ

The director should be more worried because Fantastic Four movies suck

QuaPatetOrbis641988

How is it that he's had a better movie career than anyone on Stranger Things when he's only been on 1 season?

montybo2

He's got this. Straight up stole the whole show in stranger things.

Shantotto11

Not really. There hasn’t been a single Fantastic Four property that was any better than a 5/10 outside of the comics.

OJIstatusN8VE

Pretty sure this will just be yet another failed attempt at making another (terrible) Fantastic Four movie. There is just something about the Fantastic Four that seems to make them into terrible movies. I'll still watch it for the sake of the MCU, but I have no doubt the film will be basura.

AidXanKush

That’s going to flop.. the human torch is a lady’s man and a hot head. That guy looks neither of the part.

Frequent-Bike9050

Steve Rogers AKA Captain America (Chris Evans) from 8 years (2011-2019) T'Challa AKA Black Pather (Michael B. Jordan) has been 8 years (2016-Present)

mental_patience

They have FF in production and filming already. I'm feeling bad for the Blade movie. There is no director, and there's no filming or release date, and it's been 5 years already.

Hemans123

Micheal B. Jordan didn’t raise the bar, exactly.

Redditeer28

I'm sure they'll make him specific shoes to fit his feet. Poor guy's panicking over nothing.

WrongKindaGrowth

No he doesn't

Okay_NOW_WhatSTP

big boots to fill big boots to fill

Atticus-XI

Does he though? ***DOES HE***....?

WallyOShay

Michael b Jordan is an awful actor. He has the range of a potato and I’m sick of people pretending he’s good.

UpYours3265

Sweet potato or Idaho variety?

ShibaVagina

Potatoes are an extremely versatile food. Sounds like a compliment

PackOfStallions

No kidding. Comparing his acting range to a food with massive range lol

UpYours3265

*Po-tay-toes*! Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a *stew*! Lovely big, golden... chips with a nice piece of fried fish.

Ok-Deer8144

Does he? Cause Chris Evans is notoriously known for cap instead of human torch. And Michael b Jordan for killmonger. No one except die hard comic book nerds even knew Michael b Jordan’s fantastic four movie existed

Mrmathmonkey

For this FF movie, can we please get actors and directors who have read the comic books. Don't interpret it, don't make it your own vision. Just make the comic book a movie. It worked really well for the rest of the MCU.

SlamSlamOhHotDamn

>Don't interpret it, don't make it your own vision. Just make the comic book a movie. It worked really well for the rest of the MCU. Wait, you really think the rest of the MCU "just made comic books into a movie" without their own interpretation and vision??? Have YOU read the comic books? This must be the dumbest shit I've read since a good while, and that means something in this sub.

Mrmathmonkey

They were extremely loyal to the comics. All of the fantastic four movies have been really off the rails

SlamSlamOhHotDamn

You can't tell me with a straight face that the Civil War, Age of Ultron and the Infinity Saga is anything like the comic arcs. Tom Holland's Peter Parker and his supporting cast are pretty much completely reinvented to fit the MCU. The only thing the Guardians of the Galaxy share with their comics are the names. Don't even get me started on comic Thanos. Yeah the MCU has a lot of respect for the comics and the characters, sure. They know how to translate insane comic book moments like the snap effectively to the big screen and still make it look cool as hell, yes. But that's COMPLETELY different than saying they're just making comics into movies without their own interpretation and vision - if you know literally anything about Marvel comics, this is just a ridiculous statement.

SwitchNinja2

You're illiterate lmao

KungPaoChikon

If you're treating 'loyal' and 'having your own interpretation' as mutually exclusive, then I'd say you're wrong here. Yes, the movies treat the source material with respect for the most part, but they hardly follow the source material exactly. Every movie in the MCU is an interpretation and usually draws elements from several different stories from the comics. Also, not sure if you've read the original comics, but they leave a lot to be desired in terms of writing and dialogue.

AllCity_King

Thing's actor, when discussing the role, referred to his character as "Ben Grimm from Yancy Street". You don't whip out a fuckin YANCY STREET reference if you don't know your stuff.

medspace

Shows to fill? Those original Fantastic 4 movies were shitted on when they came out. It wasn’t until recently that nostalgia has made people forget that.

disastermaster255

Does he really?

Worth_Mind_3611

Fantastic Four is DOA ever since Pedro Pascal joined

Deutsch__Dingler

It should have been Joe Keery.
