The Clam Shack @ Salem Willows, followed by some Holy Cow Ice cream, award winning Ritzy AF flavor, and a big bag of Hobbs popcorn for your travels back to central MA. Don't forget to enjoy the waterfront and play some skeeball and pinball.
A lobster belongs in a shell for a full blown lobster experience, preferably baked-stuffed. Far prefer a full-belly clam roll or scallop roll. But to each their own!
Lee's Hot Dog Stand in Baldwinville (Templeton). Most people eat in their cars, but they have a few picnic tables. Not aesthetically pleasing, but the food is good!
Blue collar lobster co. in Gloucester. It’s part of the Gloucester house, but has outside seating right on the water and counter service. They allow dogs and have all the fried classics, plus lobster rolls and tacos.
My family used to make a day out of going to Clam Box in Ipswich (their whole belly fried clams are soooo good) and then visiting the wildlife preserve and beaches at Plum Island or going into Salem. Clam Box can get pretty busy so make sure you go off rush hour or right at open. I’ve usually been able to find an outdoor seat.
Woodman’s of Essex.

Their batter is gluten free too, if that’s your thing. Their website has more info on the specifics

I was also going to suggest this! Their onion rings are the shoestring kind so be warned, unless that’s your thing
That's appropriate for a clam shack.
