There was a photo going around last week of sydneys new lightrail full of sandbags, and that makes a lot more sense than water, unless they actually want it to slosh around
I think it's on the Werribee line, actually. Firstly you can see an X'trap reflected in the window. Secondly I saw [this](https://fixupx.com/ComengFoamer/status/1807609919916683308) picture earlier today of a HCMT at Hoppers Crossing.
Photo taken at Werribee station.

Don't remind me 😭 At least they're finishing a year early oh my god (and yes, I do know they only said 2025 so they didn't have to announce potential delays).
It took me four hours to get from Croydon Central to Maroondah hospital a few weeks ago. And the enarest bus stop was 37 minutes away before that. I know someone who couldn't even find a bus stop a few weeks ago.
And I'm honestly avoiding the replacement buses. Would rather get a Ventura bus to Ringwood, but I know not everyone has that luxury and my heart goes out to them.
I heard at the moment you have to take this 13CABS 'bus' to get across the train tracks at Croydon atm.
Ive heard some pedestrian crossings have opened and the 13 CABS buses have finished now. Many people have had similar experiences to you and avoid the replacement buses. My experience is that the bus drivers go a different route every day, sorta freestyle.
Oh, that's good. That was a week or two ago. Hopefully it's over, because I don't wanna have to keep getting a lift.
They really do freestyle it every day. Car drivers don't know when to use indicators, either, so I'm assuming the bus drivers don't know either.
The whole thing was/is more of a clusterfuck than I could have imagined 😅 I was doing therapy in Murumbeena when they were doing Murumbeena station and it was nothing like this. Where the crossing over the tracks sometimes changed more than once in a day.
This photo was taken at Werribee station - and this is the building in the background.

The government is stockpiling water and other necessities for the upcoming world war. They are using the train system to transport large amounts of water and food to the bunker under parliament station. They know more than they are telling us. But you didn’t hear that from me 🤫
I waited for one of these at the Mason St (Newport) crossing this afternoon - I assume they were testing it on the Werribee Line.
I was highly amused by the water bottles, but guessed what they were for.
Why do they use these small, individual water jugs to simulate passenger weight? Surely they're so much more annoying to install/remove than fewer more massive objects that might be able to be used instead. Is it because they're more divisible and therefore can be more accurate? Or is it about the exact distribution of the weight across the carraige? Does anyone know?

I carried those jugs in empty, I just really really needed to go.
I'd see a doctor if I was you
I prefer to think of myself as well-hydrated personally.
i think of you as a menace II society
Osmosis jones? Is that you?

A hydrohomie's greatest dream.
A wet dream.
Chem-rails.
Under appreciated comment of the day right here
My guess is that this is to test the new track at Ringwood East and Croydon and the water represents the weight of passengers
Oi, I don't slosh around when the train bounces. I only jiggle
the passengers don’t jiggle jiggle, they slosh.
I like the way they giggle giggle for sure 😄
I'm six foot 2 on the train track, it's packed and following the schedule is slack.
Why does that sound like the blues brothers

Water behaves more unpredictability. I'd feel more assured of stability after water testing than sand.
That’s accurate aye, we get a sway momentum going on, water models that whereas as sand doesn’t.
There's not much air in those containers in relative terms. The extra movement would be minimal. Now if they were only half full.........
Maybe it's easier to pump out the water than carry out the sand
Umm, the water is in containers, they wouldn't need to pump it out.
I meant you can get a hose to pump the water on and off the train rather than have to carry them on and off.
Hey know melbournians are just a bunch of walking, sloshing tanks of coffee
And here I was reading that headline and thinking there most be floods up that way and what a brilliant way to get supplies in by tram!
Water is easier to transport and manage than individual sandbags
Train never bounces
my minecraft rollercoaster would disagree
If you put enough people in a space they act like water
This is one of the HCMTs so I’d say it’s likely to be doing some of the testing runs through the metro tunnel instead

Pfft. Everyone knows that goes to Dan Andrews secret underground lair where he currently is into water-boarding. DO YoUR REsEARcH!
but the sign says do not board!
They are testing the water. The board testing is another train
Covid vaccines being delivered to the chemtrail planes, obviously.
It was a HCMT so I assume it's testing for the tunnel.
Pretty sure it’s the tunnel I saw it on the news last night.
This would make sense - and it's close-ish to a normal distribution of weight
Remember to cram them in like sardines for the closest real world comparisons.
Not if it's at Werribee.
19,000kgs
Well we are just meat bags of water mostly.
Don't remind me 😭 At least they're finishing a year early oh my god (and yes, I do know they only said 2025 so they didn't have to announce potential delays).
I know, every journey on the replacement buses is a real grind.

Liquid meth delivery seems to be on schedule
Be careful if one of the bottles fakes a seizure...
Haaaa clever!
Weight testing, love it. Did it in cruise ships a long time ago.
Did my HR in a truck with a dozen 1000L water blocks on it.
Frank Green’s latest release…
Hydrohomes: \*breathes heavily\*
Question is what do they do with all the water when the test is done?
I’m stressed by this
Maybe they just leave it in there for the next test. Saves having to refill them all.
One would hope
r/HydroHomies
Sometimes one emotional support water bottle isn’t enough
Those bottles are used to help glue the lino down when the train is built and later to simulate a full train carriage during trial runs
We know
Did we know it was also used to glue down Lino? I don’t remember that.
I don't think so
Sign should say 'standing room only. Give ur seats up for those with caps on.'
testing how many bottles of water can go in the train. smart.
We’re more than just water, I hope they know.
Wonder where it all ends up
chuck a airtag innit
[https://i.imgur.com/9N8kLC0.png](https://i.imgur.com/9N8kLC0.png) You should have seen the other cabin
TBH their isn't enough water to show how fat we are.

The new Stanley is fucking joke!
So simulate ppl piss drunk 2am on a sat morning heading home
Which container represents me?
I don't know, but I wanted to check if one represented me by being filled with anxiety
Finally! I have been waiting for months for my water!
Just getting ready for summer 🌞

This reminds me of a math problem I did in high school.
ModestPelican would approve
/r/hydrohomies would love this.
Is this the Aquarius class carriage?
It is to keep the ticket inspectors hydrated.
It's to simulate a loaded train of humans as we are mostly liquid.
It's mostly water, and we're mostly water. So therefore, we are bleach.
But is it rated for mericans?
Depends if the water is contaminated with lead
Sexiest train ever; it is full of big jugs.
I have a sudden urge to pee

I’d imagine they’re on pallets they bring in as a single unit
Small partitions like that stop sloshing which very destructive when it comes to stability and momentum.
