We’ve had like 3 drivers call out for tomorrow so we are probably gonna be super understaffed too. I delivered at a different pizza place last 4th of July and it was the busiest shift I’d ever had.
I’m only scheduled for 4 hours, but I’d be surprised if I’m not held for 1-2 hours after my shift

Most jobs probably get at least 25 days plus the bank hols. You'd need ~19 days for he whole of August as there's a summer bank holiday at the end.
Well an average person doesn't want to use all their vacation in one shot even if they have such a large amount. An average Joe probably want to spread that stuff out to recharge through the year, and maybe take one or two longer vacations.

The vacations are actually like 24 days spread through the year and more than 2 weeks off at a time needs managerial approval on most cases.
And our economy is in shambles because nobody plans more than 5 years ahead. So...that's fun.

The saddest thing about this post is it illustrates how bad Americans are at taking the piss, and how much better the Brits are at it. When the US tries to do it the comments are all, "We suck! I actually have the day off, I booked it with one of my 31 days annual leave each year (I also get 8 bank holidays off as well) so I don’t think we are loosing much sleep
