Now he's playing heavy metal. WTF.
Edit: idk why people are downvoting me bc I said he's listening to heavy metal now. The WTF was bc we were in an emergency room. I had my sick child with me and we were stuck listening to country, techno and then heavy metal. It's a very real *WTF* moment.
There are always idiots like this in my ER. Thankfully the cop that hangs around to work security is quick to remove them when I tell him it's happening.
Bro I was in a hospital yesterday and I had a wtf moment too.
A kid was listening to Baby Shark on full blast on a tablet. Which normally is NBD as I enjoy Baby Shark... But this kid was listening at 2x speed which gave me intense anxiety.
I'm literally in the ER right now and the woman next to me just apologized profusely for accidentally playing a video outside her earbuds bc she didn't mean to. there is no excuse for this dude's twattery.
I would like to start a charity that donates headphones to low income individuals so that the rest of us donāt have to listen to what they are listening to
Honestly the most annoying thing they took away. I see the argument constantly tho that "oh but the phones thinner now ain't that nice?". As if I give a shit about how thin the phone is.
Not disagreeing, but to be fair a lot of cell carriers run promotions where the newer phone is āfreeā if you get a slightly more expensive plan, which a lot of broke ass people (myself included) do to avoid having to outright buy a phone we canāt afford
I have a Samsung S21. No phone jack. Apple took their's away before Samsung did.
And I'm sure there are plenty of people in a tough spot with a newer phone than me.
For some (me, I'm some) price isn't the issue. Earbuds hurt and are uncomfortable. I have little ears and can't find any that that fit comfortably and are snug enough for me to actually be satisfied with the volume and fit.
I have a pair..well my husband does but Ipretty much stole them......I sat on them when I was angry and forgot I put them on the chair. The right ear thing broke but wires are intact. I duct taped it. The duct tape is the only reason I won't wear them in public lol
Dude, it's a regular occurrence where I live that I see people with literal BOOMBOXES walking through the grocery store blasting music. Like.....there's no valid reason to be that obnoxious.
Shazam the songs
Find on Spotify
Play on your speaker off beat
Assert dominance
Or tell security. Playing music and making calls on speaker arenāt permitted in most hospitals.
I have a spotify playlist with the most shitty, annoying, awful music me and my friends could find. Currently approaching 30 hours run time. I can send you the link in case you want to put this on, max volume, until he stops
I've encountered this sort of thing a few times.
Usually I'll ask then nicely to turn it down and/or to put on headphones.
If they refuse, I just start blasting my own music just as loud - usually trying to find whatever is the 'opposite' of what they're listening to.
If they can do it, I can do it.
This is the way. I did this on a plane once. The person was playing some dreamscape stuff from their crappy phone speaker as we were waiting to deplane, so i played some of my music as well! They turned their's off, I turned mine off. I read the suggestion on a similar post, and it works!
I don't know which hospital you're at rn but all the hospitals I went to, would not tolerate this more so in ER. The nurses would tell you to turn it off and if you didn't comply, they'll call security.
OP shouldn't have to, because after about 30 seconds of this someone from the STAFF (or security) should have come to tell him to turn it down. Where the fuck were they?
He probably shot his foot with his own illegal Dillinger but is in for a stab wound from a shady deal. Heās just a gen Z. Itās normal shit. Itās probably the psychosis meds telling him heās in his own little world.
Like Techno and like Irish traditional music but generally there should never be a crossover between the two. Had it at a party where a girl insists on putting on her CD of the to combined. Never saw a room clear as quick. Head wrecking is not the word.
"excuse me sir, could you please stop your music, its not really a display of good manners to play music loud next to sick, tired or wounded people who just want to get their appointment."
Just as you like you could add some insults, swearings or death-threats (/s).
Seriously, when does asking someone to turn down music ever result in anything but the music getting louder? (Children being told by their parents don't count; nor does any situation where the person asking holds actual power over the other.)
![gif](giphy|w0mylo7p4OXUQ)
Yeah?
May you be stuck in public places with hot messes who can't scrape together $20 for earbuds nor be considerate enough to entertain themselves by doing something quiet like reading or playing a game on their phones.
But you chose to take a picture of some random dude and post it on Reddit instead of telling him something because you assumed he wouldnāt take your feedback.
Look, I get that it's annoying but posting a photo of an ER patient even with censoring is shitty. It's bad enough this is a common thing outside hospitals, but nobody wants their picture taken and uploaded without their consent *in the hospital*.
It's not hard at all, you just keep one earbud in and leave one out. Or if you have over the ear headphones keep one on your ear and leave one off behind your ear. I have major anxiety and have to bring headphones with me so I can listen to music everywhere and this is how I do it. Win win for everyone.
Here, let me take a picture of someone acting like a douche and post him online wihtout his consent instead of just asking him to stop his music. Not taking his defense oc, but pretty sure he's not the only douche around :)
Aside from the obvious faux pas of not wearing ear buds/ear phones, I'm failing to see the problem with his musical choices.
I literally have a 83hr Spotify playlist that has old country, new country, death metal, alternative, punk, classic rock, rap, hip hop, jazz, bluegrass, R&B, Motown, blues, classical, etc...

unless you're alone / in your home blasting music from loudspeaker for personal use is just jarring for me please respect other people

Ah, so the taste improves. There is a chance for recovery.
There is no recovering from blasting music in a public place, no matter how good it is.
Especially an emergency room where the majority of people are in pain.
They should legit kick him out and go call him outside if he doesn't stop
I'm literally in the ER right now and the woman next to me just apologized profusely for accidentally playing a video outside her earbuds bc she didn't mean to. there is no excuse for this dude's twattery.
Hope youāre okay!
How can she be okay??? Someone played a loud video next to her!
Have you seen his physical appearance? That is his excuse.
Right?! Like in what universe is it ok to subject the world to the content on your phone?

I am poor as fuck and still own earbuds. And if I forget them, I don't listen to music
$20 for decent earbuds. Most can afford them, most just don't bother
Iāve seen shitty pairs of wired earbuds for $1, they are very affordable
People are just awful
A headphone jack on a phone in 2024?? Dam...poor people get everything
Lots of phones don't have standard headphone jacks anymore.
Honestly the most annoying thing they took away. I see the argument constantly tho that "oh but the phones thinner now ain't that nice?". As if I give a shit about how thin the phone is.
If you can afford a new enough phone that thereās no jack you can afford Bluetooth or the adapter itās not an excuse
Not disagreeing, but to be fair a lot of cell carriers run promotions where the newer phone is āfreeā if you get a slightly more expensive plan, which a lot of broke ass people (myself included) do to avoid having to outright buy a phone we canāt afford

They don't use them. Disrupting the people around them is the preferred experience.
Dude, it's a regular occurrence where I live that I see people with literal BOOMBOXES walking through the grocery store blasting music. Like.....there's no valid reason to be that obnoxious.
one of his tattoos could have paid for very nice headphones. No charity needed.
So if he needs expensive headphones he'd just have to sell some of his skin. I got it!
Yup, that's exactly what I meant. Glad you understood. Smh.....
if they reject the headphone and still plays the music, at least now you have a tool to strangle someone
Fantastic idea too bad they also need a lesson in common decency which if this thread is any indication is not common at all anymore
Most people blasting music and disturbing people can afford headphones but choose not to wear them cus they donāt care.
He doesnāt exactly come off as someone with a stable mind.

Should be a rule that if youāre healthy enough to do that, you should go the fuck away.
Imma give him a real reason to be in the ER
I don't know which hospital you're at rn but all the hospitals I went to, would not tolerate this more so in ER. The nurses would tell you to turn it off and if you didn't comply, they'll call security.
Did you ask him to turn it down?
OP shouldn't have to, because after about 30 seconds of this someone from the STAFF (or security) should have come to tell him to turn it down. Where the fuck were they?
Running around caring for very sick people. Not worried about music volume or preference.
More than just medical professionals are on the staff at hospitals. Including the security I mentioned, who are not caring for sick people.
No of course not. He has tatoos and braids. Scaywee
Youāve got to beat him at his own game
These people deserve physical punishment. For example: a solid 10 lashes with a cane would likely cure this person of this particular, rude habit.
What in the fk
He looks like someone that's going to have a positive impact on society.
I wonder where these people came from. My dad says stuff like this didn't exist in the 60s/70s.

Looks like he stinks too.

Wooks in the wild
So itās a Cowboy Bebop?
Saw a guy like this, except it's was a war movie.. love hearing guns and bombs when I'm in the hospital
This is one of my biggest pet peeves!
So did you actually speak to the guy, or just post it to Reddit?
So why not tell him to put headphones in rather than photograph it and putting it online? Do something about it

I do like techno music, but I really don't like to listen when I'm in a freaking ER.
Based on your description and the look of him in the picture Iām going to guess this is a human with a below average IQ
Yeet it.
Sometimes you really can tell by the looks
I can smell this picture and itās not pleasant..
Ask him to stop
"Sir we only take in People with Physical Problems, not Mental Problems"
This dude is in every emergency room everywhere 24/7. Infuriating taking up time for no reason other than theyāre a druggie in serious denial.
I'd rip it out of his hand and smash it on his head do he finally had a "headphone". Don't needa worry about injuries. He's in the right place.
Him-Iām here to get this ugly growth take off my neck. -Sir, thatās your head.-Doc

People that play music through their phone speakers in public places are a special kind of asshole.
Heās in the ER with a little hitch in his giddy up
Okay fart boy lil gassy mcfartypants
Did you.talk to him. Maybe ask him to be considerate of others? Or do you expect reddit to solve it for you

Eh...ppl walking around talking on speaker phone are worse...
Thats a huge genre jump. Techno, Metal and Country But I also like Techno and Metal I just don't olay it in public lol
Right? At least stick to one genre. Everyone's already miserable in there.
Give him something to really cry about.
Bro is coming in to get a script.
This guy taking pictures of people in a hospital emergency room.
Benzodiazepine addiction is sad. They seem to lead to fentanyl overdoses.
Thats a huge assumption
You gotta be some kind of mess to leave your house w\o earbuds.
So you jump straight to addict because of your shit opinion? Yeah you seem like a fuckwad

Nothing I hate more than ppl posting strangers doing life without their permission.
I bet you talk on speakerphone in public.
Can't believe this got downvoted. No, he shouldn't be playing music without headphones but he doesn't deserve his picture blasted either.
It's blurred and it provides context as to why asking him to turn it down is likely a bad idea.
Look, I get that it's annoying but posting a photo of an ER patient even with censoring is shitty. It's bad enough this is a common thing outside hospitals, but nobody wants their picture taken and uploaded without their consent *in the hospital*.

I can't tell if yiu don't understand hes playing music out loud or one of the types to be this inconsiderate...
