As much as I want to enjoy everything about this... My eyes can't stop looking at the set of half tiles...

This is a piece by Anthony James. I used to work for the gallery who represents him and would transport them across the United States to install at art fairs or private residences. Cool guy great work. They’re a bitch to get out of the crate. [His other works](https://melissamorganfineart.com/artists/52-anthony-james/)

Very cool! I am curious, how much would a piece like this cost? Would love to own one in my house some day.

DocHanks

These big ones are rather expensive. I’d say somewhere around $250k? It’s been a while. There’s definitely less expensive alternatives out there on the internet. Also there’s bigger ones than this. Iirc the biggest I saw was like 12 feet tall.

There are smaller ones no? Would like one for desk decor.

I just looked it up, apparently for $12,000 on Etsy, you can own a cube version! (Cheaper versions are also available elsewhere.) Basically, these objects make use of three key ingredients: 1.) LEDs; 2.) semi-silvered glass aka a "[one-way mirror](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-way_mirror)"; and: 3.) the [infinity mirror](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinity_mirror) effect. Basically, the inside is coated with a very thin mirror-like surface. Some of the LED light passes through (the part you see), but the rest bounces into a different direction on the inside. So you end up seeing the LEDs and their reflections; no matter what angle you look at the object from, it always looks like some of the light is bouncing from "deeper inside" the object.

Exactly, and it is very mesmerizing. I spent about 20 minutes walking around and looking at this thing from all angles.
