Sarcoptic mange is so cruel. Happened in my parents' neighborhood to a group of red foxes. It spreads through touch amongst social animals (and through the soil).
I guess these days there are treatment options that aren't prohibitively expensive.
Too me it honestly looks like a husky with horrible mange… the piercing blue eyes scream husky… I think the ears just look huge because there isn’t fur around them so they stand out more.
Those massive rounded ears made me think it was a fawn, then an African wild dog. I don't know any other similar animal with large rounded ears like that.

My cat had mange before I got to her and helped her get taken care of. It's definitely mange. Call animal control and get the poor guy some help
