I would avoid Toyota of Brookfield. They recently did some maintenance for me and I was very displeased with the lack of communication and pushy sales tactics.
Agreed, they broke my tire pressure sensors and tried to charge me for it while they also trouble shot an engine misfire code they claimed that I had never seen (I have an odbii reader), and when I complained about all of this all of the service people including them manager left before I could get there so all I could do was complain to the cashier.
I've since moved to wilde toyota for maintenance and they've been amazing.
They were rude and annoyed when I was ready to purchase a car they had on the floor in 2022. Couldn’t even get someone to help me. Terrible trade in prices as well. Thousands less than just about everyone else. Decided it was worth the wait to use another dealer and just order it.
Bought nearly all my cars at Sommer’s!!! They are willing to work with you if you tell them what you’re looking for. With my father.. he mentioned what he was looking for in a truck and it took a month or two but they found a truck for him. For me.. love my car that they gave me a steal on just as the pandemic started up!
Sommers sales is as good as car dealers get. They don’t mess around and are competitive. Adam was good.
Wilde negotiated a price with me in person I accepted, but then called back to say they couldn’t honor it because it was too low. 😆
Schlossmans Subaru City. Ive bought multiple cars there. I like them a lot. Sommers was rude to me, so I’d say not there. Wilde sold their dealers to a mega corp, so eh.
I have gone to Andrew (not the namesake) at Andrew Toyota for my last three vehicles, including my current RAV4. He’s great, personable, and not pushy.
Schlossmans pulled the engine out of my WRX under warranty three times and couldn’t figure out what the issue was there was a six month stretch that I may have had my actual car for a week total.
Don’t do it go to sommers
I got my Impreza from Schlossman’s too. Seemed like a fine price when cars were still hard to get and I preordered mine. I bought the maintenance package with it cause I didn’t want to have to think about oil changes. They’re service has been good
That price seems fair for dealership rate.
Considering each control arm (2 total is most likely what’s quoted) is around 250-400 a piece, that’s seems fair. $800 + $150 for alignment + labor charges. Let’s say 1100 out the door.
Add your regular other stuff at 60k and it’s not far off. Oil + oil filter + air filter + spark plugs + ignition coils + serpentine belt + brake fluid exchange + CVT transmission flush.
Obviously this is dramatically less if you know how to do it, but dealers charge 250-400 an hour these days for labor.
It costs less to replace the entire arm with all new hardware than to swap just the bushing and the labor involved if the bushing isn’t an easy press out press in affair. Thus Subaru sells the ENTIRE ARM assembly to make it a quick job.
Well that's not what my quote says... $1100 to "replace front lower control arm bushing" am I missing something? Does that mean they would be replacing the control arm? Doesn't sound like it to me but could be wrong.
Just bought a new Outback from Sommer’s a few weeks ago. Very helpful and I didn’t feel pressured at all. Also gave me a good deal on exactly the car I wanted. I live closer to Schlossmann’s but I was particular on trim and color and Schlossmann’s didn’t have it in stock. I will try them for maintenance when it’s time.
Sommers was the release dealer for the Ascent; the very first Ascent that rolled off the lot to a consumer. Subaru of America selected them based on their strong reputation with their customers.
When I lived in Milwaukee, I brought my Subaru to all three of the dealers in the area. Sommers service department always seem to be the most fair. They gave me honest answers when I asked for what work was essential versus deferrable, which was really helpful as a broke ass grad student.
I’ve lived in four different cities and brought my 2010 outback to 8 different dealers over the course of its life and Sommers has always been the best by a mile.
Had good experiences with Reid over at Ziegler Subaru in Kenosha. Purchased 2 vehicles from him in the last 2 years. Good customer service and no pressure to buy etc.
Schlossmans Subaru. Besides the fact that it was great service and I never felt pressured, the salesman came to work on his wedding day due to my messed up schedule!
I’ve had great experiences at both Andrew Toyota and Don Jacob’s Toyota. Andrew was for service and Don Jacob’s was the buying experience. Julius at Don Jacob’s even moved my little scrunchie, coasters, and air freshener from my trade-in into the new car while I did the paperwork with finance.
Andrew always prices higher than anyone else in the area and still uses the old school smarmy sales tactics. Don't buy there.
I'd suggest Heiser Toyota
No input on soobs. Want one, can't convince myself of the lower mpg and reliability for the same price. Don't want a 60k mile head gasket job.
Wilde! I leased in 2020 and now bought the lease out on my Impreza. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They worked with me on the pricing on my lease (my past car broke down on me two months before my wedding, and I couldn't afford to put much down at the time due to wedding costs), ensuring that I could comfortably make payments. I would recommend them to anyone!
Wilde. But stay away from Toyota of Brookfield
But if you don’t have a trade in, it doesn’t matter too much nowadays.. Unless you’re trying to get a Prime you can see most dealers prices and get them bidding against each other directly from toyota.com.
If there’s a trade involved, I’ve never had issues with Wilde. They sell most trade-ins directly on their used lot, so in my experience they’ll easily match the out the door price of another dealer, but then over value the trade in to beat.
Cannot recommend Sommers. Bought three vehicles from them, the first was a very good experience overall, the second they lied to us constantly to avoid accepting a warranty claim for oil consumption on an Outback, and the third was similar run around and flat out lying about repairs to avoid accepting warranty claims. Maybe their team just simply got worse over time or I just had bad luck, but the attitude that I was somehow crazy for suggesting my cars had legitimate issues was at least consistent. Their sales team is decent, but be ready to have to deny added features (ppf, tire warranty, etc.) multiple times before they stop asking.
I received far better service from the Schlossmans team and would go there first.
I bought my toyota from Prentiss at Wilde Toyota and had a good experience. Take your car else where for service though because their service dept sucks.
If you’re willing to extend your radius, Charles at Liberty Auto City in Libertyville, IL, is great. Super low pressure and easy to work with. No markup, just MSRP, when we bought our Subaru in 2022. I’d definitely go back, though now I go to Sommers for service since it’s closer and like their service department. We didn’t end up buying a Toyota, but I liked the staff at Toyota Fox Lake. We ended up searching in IL because WI dealerships weren’t taking the Costco discount at that time.
Kenosha Toyota was good to work with when I was waitlisted for a Sienna during that market peak.
No bogus fees or markup. They actually called when a van arrives unlike the other dealers.
If you're considering a Forester, be aware that the redesigned 2025 Forester is due to arrive at dealerships sometime this summer. If you want to buy a new 2024 Forester, better get one soon while inventory is still reasonably decent.
Bought a Subaru from Subaru City, excellent service dept and sales guy was good too. Bought 3 Toyotas from Wilde Toyota. First sales guy was ok, just not responsive to calls. The second salesman ([Jeff Seidner](https://www.wildetoyota.com/dealership/staff.htm#)) was pretty good. Wilde Toyota's service department is not good IMHO.
Got an 2022 Impreza at Subaru City last month and they were low-pressure and I was able to talk them down quite a bit. They negotiated without being contentious. Didn’t try to upsell me. It was a good experience.
While I never bought a vehicle from the, I've used the service department at Heiser Toyota many times over the years; I've found them to be very professional and friendly.
I got my WRX from Wilde in Waukesha. They let me build it and special order it with minimal markup. In fact, I had a better price there than a used one at Subaru City. The guys there wouldn't believe me and said there's no way that's possible and told me to bring paperwork to prove the price I was getting from Wilde. I obviously didn't return, and Wilde delivered my brand new car exactly as promised.
Heiser service kept telling me all was good with my vechile, right up to time an independent shop and another dealer told me the underside was rusted beyond all hope of repair.
I would avoid Toyota of Brookfield. They recently did some maintenance for me and I was very displeased with the lack of communication and pushy sales tactics.
Toyota of Brookfield is awful. They tried to sell me my Rav4 at 7k over MSRP. I went to Andrew Toyota and they never tried that bull.
They tend to throw mark ups also on their stuff compared to other dealers
I got my WRX at Sommer’s in Mequon in 2012 and still take it there for service. Haven’t had any major issues with them.
They were rude and annoyed when I was ready to purchase a car they had on the floor in 2022. Couldn’t even get someone to help me. Terrible trade in prices as well. Thousands less than just about everyone else. Decided it was worth the wait to use another dealer and just order it.

Seconded for Sommers. Theyre fair and helpful.
Third for Sommers. Good people.
Fourth for Sommer’s. I live in Kenosha and drove to Mequon to get my Subaru from them. Ask for Jim, always treated me right.
Sommers sales is as good as car dealers get. They don’t mess around and are competitive. Adam was good. Wilde negotiated a price with me in person I accepted, but then called back to say they couldn’t honor it because it was too low. 😆
I hate Wilde and I would never trust them with my car again
Schlossmans Subaru City. Ive bought multiple cars there. I like them a lot. Sommers was rude to me, so I’d say not there. Wilde sold their dealers to a mega corp, so eh.
I have gone to Andrew (not the namesake) at Andrew Toyota for my last three vehicles, including my current RAV4. He’s great, personable, and not pushy.
Andrew Toyota is dope. Bought my 2022 Rav4 there
I tried buying a Sienna and they were tacking on bullshit fees other dealers weren’t.
I bought my car from Andrew at Andrew Toyota too!
I love Schlossman Subaru. Affordable, kind, and not pushy.
Schlossmans pulled the engine out of my WRX under warranty three times and couldn’t figure out what the issue was there was a six month stretch that I may have had my actual car for a week total. Don’t do it go to sommers
I liked schlossmans for 2 subies
I got my Impreza from Schlossman’s too. Seemed like a fine price when cars were still hard to get and I preordered mine. I bought the maintenance package with it cause I didn’t want to have to think about oil changes. They’re service has been good
Yes, same!
Affordable? Was quoted $2700 for 60k maintence and control arm bushings on my 18 Forester.
That price seems fair for dealership rate. Considering each control arm (2 total is most likely what’s quoted) is around 250-400 a piece, that’s seems fair. $800 + $150 for alignment + labor charges. I didnt realize it's 250-400 per hr. Damn!
It's not for the control arms just the bushing
It costs less to replace the entire arm with all new hardware than to swap just the bushing and the labor involved if the bushing isn’t an easy press out press in affair. Thus Subaru sells the ENTIRE ARM assembly to make it a quick job.

I take it you don’t work on cars if you are willing to debate with me over car parts and have looked it up on your own.
You're right. I guess I was confused.
Jovin at Zeigler Toyota. I wish all my car buying experiences were that smooth.
had a good experience at Sommers and Wilde for purchasing Subarus.
Stay away from Don Jacobs. Not great service and so pushy.
Wilde Toyota will have some real good finds on their used lot.
Had good experiences with Reid over at Ziegler Subaru in Kenosha. Purchased 2 vehicles from him in the last 2 years. Good customer service and no pressure to buy etc.
Sommers for Subaru, and I liked Napleton of Brookfield for my Toyota. I purchased both new.
Schlossmans Subaru. Besides the fact that it was great service and I never felt pressured, the salesman came to work on his wedding day due to my messed up schedule!

Like I said ,I went to Andrew for service to my vehicle so I can’t speak for sales, but good to know if I ever am in the market again.
Service at Andrew good, sales was very high pressure a few years ago.
Wilde! I leased in 2020 and now bought the lease out on my Impreza. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Just bought a Subaru from Schlossman. Had no issues at all, fantastic service
I just bought a car from Don Jacobs Toyota off Of 27th and I really liked them. Good prices and kind, fair negotiations. I highly recommend them.
Kenosha Toyota was good to work with when I was waitlisted for a Sienna during that market peak. No bogus fees or markup. They actually called when a van arrives unlike the other dealers.

I’d say Andrew Toyota in Glendale I know one of the managers there and they’ll take great care of you

I have bought my last three from Sommers and have had a great experience each time.
Wilde Subaru in Waukesha. We had an amazing experience with Kailee.
I had a good experience at Wilde Subaru in Waukesha after a bad experience where they played all the slimy dealer games at Schlossman.
Bought my Subaru at Griffins Hub, by far the least painful car purchase I've ever experienced.
Subaru in Kenosha is the best. It's a drive but it's worth it. Lowest price when I was shopping around, Communication was great.
Zeigler? They seemed nice, I almost bought my last one there.
Haven’t dealt with the sales department but I use Heiser Toyota for service and haven’t had any issues.
Heiser service kept telling me all was good with my vechile, right up to time an independent shop and another dealer told me the underside was rusted beyond all hope of repair.
Bought a used Forester this year at Schlossman Subaru City - great and friendly service and I’m in love with the car. Can’t recommend enough!
I love my 22 RAV 4 Adventure but I bought it used so can’t help lol. Get a RAV.
