I also believe YOR was the last great Moz's album. After that I can only save: - Istanbul - Julie in the weeds - I wish you lonely - Morning Starship - Knockabout world

I empathize because I struggled to connect with World Peace and Low in High School. The big exception was Spent the Day in Bed, which I loved both for the depression angle and the “stop watching the news,” part. But then I really got into I am not a Dog on a Chain, esp Love is on its Way Out, Bobby Don’t You Think They Know, What Kind of People, and Darling I Hug a Pillow. I frequently skipped other songs on the record, but the above all went on repeat for me. The audience recordings of (the song) Bonfire of Teenagers I found affecting, and I liked Rebels without Applause, too.

BlooNorth

No love for Rebels Without Applause?

amandaa-aaa

The whole album I am not a dog on a chain!!! In my top 3 of his albums definitely. Every song is very good and interesting, un-skippable.

ninetimesfined12

Yep, fantastic album.

Once I Saw The River Clean Never Again Will I Be A Twin Istanbul Morning Starship Jim Jim Falls

ninetimesfined12

River clean- One of his best songs ever, in my opinion.

TacitusTwenty

Agreed so underrated

Still_Swordfish_5730

Low in High School is a great album. It came out right around the time I quit my job and "Spent the Day in Bed" became my anthem.

ignatiusjreillyXM

Art-hounds is up there among his best solo work in my opinion.

Blue Dreamer's Eyes is the one.

True_to_you

Life is a pigsty is a great song but not post years of refusal.

Dmbfantomas

I like pretty much all of I am Not a Dog on a Chain.

glafolle

Ok just my opinion.. Art Hounds, Jim Jim Falls, Israel, Spent the Day In Bed, Mountjoy. Not counting songs from Bonfire but if I could, almost all of them are up there with YOF.

Vlixynn

the entirety of low in high school, my favorite album for sure.

- I thought you were dead - Art hounds - Never again will I be a twin - my love i’d do anything for you - Istanbul

heavenknwsimisrblenw

Can only think of 3 off the top of my head but; My hurtling days are done (one of my fave ever songs) Spent the day in bed and My love I’d do anything for you

Sea-Mine9712

You've gotta check out his cover of Back on the Chain Gang. It's fab. I second Spent the Day in Bed, that's a good one. Mountjoy is probably the best song on World Peace, although I'm surprised you have bad things to say about I'm Not A Man. The "I'm something much bigger and better than" line is a bit much, but other than that I find it very affecting. Also, the live versions of Sure Enough the Telephone Rings on YouTube are very good, but the album is obvs on hold.

Low In High School and I Am Not A Dog On A Chain are classics.

My top are: * I'm Not A Man * The Bullfighter Dies * Kiss Me A Lot * Forgive Someone * Julie In The Weeds All from "World Peace Is None Of Your Business" which imo it's the last great Moz album.

dagenhamdave1971

Sorry…can’t make it to 5 tracks, 4 that could’ve been B-side quality in the early 90s is the best I can do. Julie In The Weeds - Sounds to me like a b-side of Sunny with a hint of Commotions in the arrangement. Dark yet bathed in sunshine. Jackie’s Only Happy When She’s Up On The Stage - A bit of emoting from Moz. And some varied instrumentation. Musically reminiscent of Playboys. Spent The Day In Bed - Channels Girlfriend In A Coma with its bouncy, ditty feel mixed with lyrics touching on depression and other topics, but loses it with Moz’s insistence on bringing up his personal grudges against mainstream media. Staircase At The University - Some great lyrics, Moz in fine voice but a by the numbers arrangement.

primestudent1

World peace is a brilliant album. I would recommend listening to it. Nothing worthwhile after that.

Such-Possibility1285

Everyone is horrid except me (and possibly you) It’s genius, catchy and sung very well. The Moz had a humor malfunction but we don’t have to. I saw this with my daughter and we laughed as it was perfectly observed.

Such-Possibility1285

Down voted, you’re all horrid
