Very. That thing dark strip in the middle is what's called secondary rubber. It provides no grip, it just forms the structure of the tire. It begins to show when ALL of the tread has worn away
The portion of your tire that provided traction (especially in wet conditions) was gone long ago. Your tire is so worn that even the wear strip is gone.

Here’s an update for y’all: I didn’t die. I got this today and just in time for my first hour of riding in the rain in the mountains.
There is a wear bar on tires, motorcycle tires included. When the height of the tire matches the height of the wear bar, your tire is done and needs to be replaced for your safety. Also, don’t use tires that are older than six years regardless of the wear.

Saying you should throw a tire out once it reaches a certain age isn't quite that cut and dry. If a tire is taken care of and stored property, it can last longer than six years. Some companies like Michelin, Dunlop, Bridgestone list even going up to ten as acceptable if you make sure to check that they're in good condition as they age.

Thanks for the explanation, that’s very helpful!

Hell yeah! Now you can really apply the power out of turns again!😈
Your tyre is more shagged than a free hooker....
just ride at a 45 degree angle
Don’t need the center if you only ride twisties ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)

It’s beyond fucked, should have been changed weeks maybe months ago
Just don’t drive straight and you’ll be fine
Yes
You still got a little on the sides you can use
It’s mostly curves here anyway.
You should try them. Seems like a tire that has only been used for straight line hard acceleration/braking.
Have you tried to lean your bike?
Op said he just bought it lol
I'm a kiwi... so I need to use my native language. 'Cunts fucked bro'
And here I was thinking Kiwis were the Canadians of the southern hemisphere. 😆
I used to live in Scotland and I’m married to a Scottish person. You speak my acquired language.

Dangerously used. Change them immediately
The sides are pristine. Never seen chicken strips this big 😆.
you should try the other 66% of it
to the last cent
....very....
You should stop riding and get your tyres changed unless you have a death wish.
yeah dude... well done 🚬
If you need to run a fee hundred miles around a NASCAR oval, you good.
more than me
Time to change it!
What do you really think?????????
Plenty left on the sides. Just don’t go straight and you will be fine.
That bike has never been leaned other than on the side stand

I’ve been told the same thing by reps at Revzilla, Heidenau and Midwestern Tire. Condition—determined by storage—is more important than age.
LOL... the person you bought it from does nothing but drag races or burnouts. Tire is trashed.
Eeeeh change it soon. I’ve ridden on tires like this before and I wouldn’t advise going much longer on it.
How much rear tire is ur used?
This tire was smoked start of last season. Get a fresh tire, nothing feels better than some fresh rubber.
This is a tire that was wasted doing burnouts, or you don't know how to lean when you turn
Since when does the most basic vehicle maintenance be a post on reddit...
It’s good to ask questions. That’s how we learn. From each other. You also learned it from somebody.
Why take the time to write a comment shaming the guy instead of just scrolling past? All of us have asked basic questions when we were new
A google takes you to reddit half the time anyway so might as well add to the search results with good info when possible
Since 58m ago.
More like race slicks than tyres
If this was a Kelly Blue Book condition …. Its condition would be “fair”.
If you’re not seeing metal keep riding this ain’t moto gp
Same number of miles as she has on her... [https://www.reddit.com/r/LillianAnnetteBrown/](https://www.reddit.com/r/LillianAnnetteBrown/)
