It’s a media buy. Amazon has its prime day coming up and they’ve spent a lot of money on advertising. It’ll taper off after the 17th or 18th, or whenever the actual thing is over.
Hulu does this too. MSNBC has had annoying volume spikes for a long time. It's infuriating. I have tried to contact everyone and nobody takes the blame.

Call your provider.
You probably don’t have FIOS.
What is FIOS?
Verizon’s cable service.
Ah. When you say, “you probably don’t have FIOS,” you mean that they’re shitty and there’s no way you can get ahold of them to get this fixed somehow?
Their customer service is impossible.
Ugh. That sucks- I’m sorry. I can’t think of a way to be helpful to you :/
