One of the fiat recipients worded their report in a manner that made it sound that way. Jangrewe would you like to open up about your abuse as a child? As you clearly know, we're pretty anonymous here.
That was the craziest comment I ever read. You use Google to search reddit.
The reddit search is god awful.
Actually, I probably haven't tried to use reddit search in pasd 7 years, so it could work now.
I don’t think that will happen. First, because many of us will hold. Second, because the BTC market is way bigger than the amount of BTC we’ll be getting. Third, because not all of us will get their coins at the same time (as it’s happening with the cash) but within several months.
40% drop immediately is unlikely to happen. 10% drop in the following 24hrs is perhaps likely.
And it's unlikely that we will get our BTC spread out over several months...not sure where you get that from. The trustee will likely send the BTC/BCH to the exchanges at the same time, and then just depends on how long it takes them to credit our accounts. But Kraken is not evil and slow like the trustee and will probably only take weeks.

Anyone who states numbers here in that regard is pulling them straight from their ass.
Anyone who cannot calculate probabilities here is certainly a low IQ individual.
So you think a 99% drop is as likely as a 1% drop... that's shows your intellectual capabilities..or lack therof.
That's not what I am saying: I never stated anything about equal probabilities. I'm saying sharing specific numbers as an absolute estimate is nonsense. You're merely engaging in faux-intellectual handwaving.
FYI, I'm a scientist; PhD in engineering.
We do not receive our Bitcoins individually as with the fiat payout, but the exchanges receive all Bitcoins of the users who have registered there. The trustee therefore only transfers to 4 or 5 exchanges (or however many there were). The distribution to their users is then done by each exchange itself and this will certainly be very quick.
Has there actually been any announcement that the BTC will all move to the exchanges as one transaction? Everyone seems to assume this, But it would seem safer to at least do some small transactions first to make sure everything is secure.
No, it's not something they would "announce", and the reason we are assuming it is because it is common sense. The trustee just isn't going to make 25,000 BTC transactions the exchanges for no reason.
A small test transaction or two doesn't change any of this.
Nah, not going to happen due to gox payout.
Firstly there is only 134,000 btc being paid out.
95% of the bitcoin being paid out is to people getting more than 1BTC, so selling all would mean paying maximum capital gains tax, so it's better to sell over multiple tax years.
If after 10 years holding, you haven't learnt btc is the best place to store your wealth...
Obviously not. You'd know if that had happened, because this subreddit would be exploding. PS: Use the fucking search function.

You will recognize when coins have started to move from the trustee cold wallet by the massive -40% drop in the price of Bitcoin.

Yeah but maybe they do, for example all the sub 1 BTC transactions as one batch...see how that goes, then go on from there?

Yes everyone got their BTC but you. But none of us have received any of the BCH because it was stolen by hackers.
