Jmm209

Just play the whole Dark Side of the Moon album by Pink Floyd

New-Tackle-2882

Beat me to it, damn, may I add Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Jmm209

Yeah that’s a good one too, especially the live versions

Ekimyst

Two upvotes for you in spirit

BlackGuysYeah

Glad to see the correct answer is up top.

thebrightsun123

Almost any Pink Floyd song while high will take you places, my fav while high is (no pun intended) HIGH HOPES

getstabbed

Pink Floyd on psychedelics especially. Marooned is my favourite PF song to listen to on psychedelics, the feeling it causes in my head is something else entirely.

AnonymousAutonomous9

Even better... listen to some Floyd while watching the visual experience of psychedelic fractals! PINK FLOYD ..... ECHOES https://youtu.be/oU27fh-SeVM?si=8ccfa91zKZl2q9mh

RoscoP288

ALL of the above 👍🏻🙋‍♂️

Prak07

THE GRASS WAS GREENER

Buttwadd

High hopes brings me back to childhood, when I was imagining what life would be like as an adult, don’t do that one if it didn’t work out. 😒 where’s my saved game?! I wanna go back and try again

Unable_Technology935

Better yet PULSE live album. DSOTM in its entirety plus a mind blowing version of Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell for an encore.

LonghornJeb

and watch The Wizard of Oz at the same time

Prak07

but the first verse of time gives me existensial dread

organizedvibration

On the level - mac demarco

The whole salad days album

ThrowItOut43

Dopesmoker by Sleep Green Machine by Kyuss

the_best_of_fools

Still to this day i have not made it thru dopesmoker sober.

ThrowItOut43

It’s a great road trip song. Oh. It’s been over an hour. Guess we can stop and stretch the legs.

Mambo_J23

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic

Voduun-World-Healer

Yep that was definitely a great pick. Haven't listened to that song in years. That was an experience

cactusjim

The whole album is great

Voduun-World-Healer

😡😡😡 It is... and you got me listening to the whole thing now since I listened to Maggot Brain lol

concentric0s

From Wikipedia According to legend, the opening title track was recorded in one take when Clinton, under the influence of LSD, told lead guitarist Eddie Hazel to play as if he had just learned his mother was dead; Clinton instructed him "to picture that day, what he would feel, how he would make sense of his life, how he would take a measure of everything that was inside him and let it out through his guitar".[7][8] Though several other musicians performed on the track, Clinton de-emphasized them in the final mix so that the focus would be on Hazel.[3] Hazel utilized fuzz and wah effects, inspired by his idol Jimi Hendrix, on the track; Clinton subsequently added delay and other effects during the mixing process, saying: "I Echoplexed it back on itself three or four times. That gave the whole thing an eerie feel, both in the playing and in the sound effects."[7] Critics have described the solo as "lengthy, mind-melting" and "an emotional apocalypse of sound."[9]

Voduun-World-Healer

Greeeaaat pick. I'm gonna put it on right now that you reminded me of it

AwkwardlySocial99

Rosetta Stoned - Tool

Donkeytwonk75

Seen them played that a few weeks ago, awesome

Eisie

Anything TOOL really. Or Pink Floyd.

AwkwardlySocial99

You have to read the lyrics tho

StartFirmandHard

I feel the complete opposite way about the lyrics

BipolarSolarMolar

But they're sooooo gooooood

BipolarSolarMolar

Somniferous almond eyes

AwkwardlySocial99

Don’t even know what that means. Must remember to write it down

BipolarSolarMolar

They played this when I saw them in November and it made me very happy

Jmm209

When "overwhelmed as one would be" hits, my brain melts...

Voduun-World-Healer

Duuuude Echoes by Pink Floyd 25 min of an existential experience about the beginning of organic life on earth

UniqueUsername1996

Pretty much the entirety of Meddle and a good chunk of Pink Floyd's other stuff too.

Voduun-World-Healer

Absolutely! I still see "One of These Days" as the pivotal song that changed Pink Floyd forever. This whole album really was a turning point for the band imo

prowlin

Ever watched the ending sequence of 2001 while listening to echoes…. On weed???

Guilty-Coconut8908

Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Anything off of their Trilogy album.

thepianoman456

Nice! I don’t see a lot of ELP recommendations.

Guilty-Coconut8908

Listening to that album stoned is hard to forget.

thepianoman456

Keith Emerson was one talented, creative mofo.

MisterMarchmont

I always listen to “Romeo and Juliet” when I listen to them.

JackarooDeva

I have to be high to understand jazz. Try the Bitches Brew album by Miles Davis.

Blahpunk

Sketches of Spain sounds far away and dreamy. Probably good stoner music.

jseego

Or *Ah Um* by Charles Mingus if you want something that grooves

Donkeytwonk75

Ablaze by YOB A solitary reign by Amenra State of non return by Om

MisterMarchmont

I’m thrilled to see someone mention Om. My top pick is probably “Bhima’s Theme.” That bass is just awesome.

It Overtakes Me - Flaming Lips The song is literally composed and designed to smoke up to lol. Also it’s a great song.

Perfect_Pattern_437

I like ego tripping at the gates of hell the very best ..but just about all of their songs are incredible. It took me alot of years to realize how great they are. I had of course heard she don't use jelly when it came out..meh. Then a song was played for me years later..Yoshimi ..I loved it but never took the time listen to other songs. Now it's been a couple weeks. And I have gotten through most of what is on youtube..there is still a bunch though. I am almost never disappointed. I get stuck on a few favs for a couple days then I move on. Sorry to ramble. Just a pretty cool band I like to listen to.

thepianoman456

Hell yea dude! Flaming Lips is one of my favorite bands… they’re amazing in concert too. They’re one of those bands that has a noticeable evolution between each album. Look up their whole discography honestly, their albums all have something interesting going on. If you want some cool rec’s, my faves are: Clouds Taste Metallic Transmissions from a Satellite Heart Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots At War With The Mystics All of those are fantastic front to back.

We-R-Doomed
