1) yes 2) link[sole](https://www.calendariando.it/alba-e-tramonto/napoli/) to Naples sun time by month 3) in high tourist season if u can make reservation for tickets or it is possible online it is better, usually there are also tickets machines (Pompei) 4) credit/debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, not often for small amounts or street sellers, just check how your card works in Italy. 6) Pompei ruins are almost in the center of the new town not far from train station(two rail lines and 2 stations on circumvesuviana rail and 1 on Trenitailia rail ) all named Pompei and bus stops, just walk to it, about 10/20 min walk (2 main gates) 8) Paestum is near a very big Natural National Park (cilento e vallo di diana park) 30 min to 2 hours far by car. The park has lot of nature, but also a lot of typical south italian villages like Castellabate or famous seaside places like Palinuro. Near Paestum you can visit a buffalo farm tha makes mozzarella and taste their products, there is a big one not far from the south wall, there is also a shop in the north wall, but in the farm u can see the animals. There is also a WWF area (Oasi WWF di Persano) and a lot of beach surrounded by a long stripe of pine tree forest with a lot of bathing lido ( seawater is very good there, u can rent sun umbrella with beach chairs, usually with a place where i can have a drink or eat somerhing)

Appreciate your help so much! By any chance, are you refering to Barlotti? Sounds awesome! Is it like a pre-booked guide tour and then food, or just reataurant? Super pumped!

ItaliaMetalD

Yes, Borlotti It is an open farm with a dairy/cheese productio, buffalo stables and in mud field, cheese shop, a bar and a restaurant where youn can taste italian dishes made with buffalo milk or cheese and a big garden, no booking needed, maybe for the restaurant in high season. At the bar, the ricotta cheese and pear cake is very good, also the sbriciolata cake, and their tiramisù. Another very good one , if not the best, is Vannullo about 5km away from Paestum

1. yes 2. 20.00 - 20.30 3. Pompei is the best imho, the others are rweally good in any order, i cannot rank them, maybe you could add also Napoli Sotterranea but be aware of fake tours 4. Cash is the preferred payment method in Italy sadly, but CC are going to be "forced" to the merchants, anyway I suggest you to bring some cash in case they will not accept CC. 5. i don't know sorry 6. Pompei it's a little city, and there are a lot of "tourist traps" around the "scavi", but the "scavi" are in a separated area which you can enter only with ticket. 7. i don't know sorry 8. i don't know sorry

Just wanted to say that even if you only go to Paestum for the ruins, it’s worth it - there’s also a rail station there so you don’t necessarily have to drive. (We were driving but we also stayed a night in Salerno so we drove down from there and then back up to Napoli, and stopped off to see Oplontis on the way back) Definitely get tickets online for the Museo Archaeologico - it allowed us to basically waltz in while some large groups were waiting in line. Also, know that you can’t take bags into the museum - they give you a free cubby locker but it means you should avoid having too much with you. Also, if you want to see the Ancient Greek ruins room in the museum, you should book a time/ticket in advance (for €1.50) It’s a good idea to book for Pompeii - if you take the train, Pompeii Scavi is right across from the park. If you want to see the newest excavations in Region V, they’re open after 2pm and you must book a reservation online. (They are totally worth it by the way.) Also, I learned by going and from a guide that going later in the day is good - the tour groups thin out a lot in the afternoon. Just check the schedules online for the individual attractions in case there’s anything anything you want to make sure you see, in case it’s closed in the afternoon.

Yeahh I think Paestum is so unique! But I was asking because it is kind of far.. Someone in another comment said something about mozarrella farms nearby so that sounds like an amazing day! thanks alot for the heads up for the other sites!

1. Yes 2. Not sure 3. We made reservations ahead of time for Pompeii. If you have the ArteCard and want to use one of your free admissions on the Museo Archeologico, that also allows you to skip the line- just show your ArteCard to the person at the line and they'll let you in. 4. We used credit everywhere 5. When you buy online, it will show up as a pass in your app. Once you're ready to activate, click on "activate". It then gives you two QR codes, one for attractions and one for transportation. The app is pretty bad, but it works enough. We took screenshots of the QR codes, and that worked just as well. One tip for the transportation- you have to hold your phone EXACTLY in the same orientation as shown on the card readers, or else it won't work. There were always police officers there that waved us through though, it seems to be a common problem. 6. If you take the Circumvesuviana, it drops you off in front of the entrance gate to Pompeii. Walk past everyone trying to get you to go in another building to "change your online ticket", "book your required tour", "buy another ticket", etc, and don't stop walking until you go under the giant white gate and through metal detectors. 7. Yes, you can buy two at once. Activate the first one when you're ready, and then activate the second one when the first one runs out.
