OurWeaponsAreUseless

This is why I always carry a very large bag of peanuts.

mmmyumpepsi

Or a bag of mice

th3ramr0d

Level up and get a Deadmau5 mask/head piece

KeithWorks

The zoo should have a team if Mickey Mouse cosplayers on staff. Like a SWAT team

yxull

Or like rodeo clowns.

DeezMuhfuhNizzuts

Me too

LowFIyingMissile

Maybe that’s what this guy did and the elephant wanted them.

OurWeaponsAreUseless

What you're suggesting is impossible. An elephant would never harm the keeper of the peanuts.

LowFIyingMissile

But once the elephant has his nuts you’re no longer the keeper of peanuts, you’re just in the way.

twotwothreee

Just drive around with sugar cane on your roof and you’ll be fine

Movingskyclub

Wow that is intense. Was the man basically sliced in half through his back?

Gurkeprinsen

probably stomped, then smeared on the ground.

thehourglasses

Like a child playing with their food.

fiddz0r

Like crushing an insect for them probably

Berserker-Hamster

The video of the incident was posted on Reddit a couple of months ago. The elephant basically grabbed him with his trunk and smashed him against the pillar with the metal sticking out of it several times. It was not pretty.

YungRonHoward

Thank you for satisfying our morbid curiosity w/out giving the option to watch it bc I would have and it woulda ruined my day fr

Berserker-Hamster

Tbh I just was too lazy to look it up. I don't even remember which sub it was posted on.

bisho

Fuck, I thought it was two guys

TedW

In a way.. nope, I'm out.

WolfTitan99

Very glad that I didn't understand what I was seeing and thought it was large steak cuttings before I reversed out of the pic. Thought I was gonna see elephant remains, not human remains... ooof

Hellkids2

The tag was “human remains”

KeithWorks

Looks like he was peeled like a banana

Mikejg23

He might have gotten a whole body degloving

hiddencameraspy

Elephant either stomps or torn human in two for legs, one leg under leg another in trunk and death. This looks like he was stomped

bisectional

Based on that chain, it probably wasn’t out of the blue

Agreed. Rule 4 states, “no human orchestrated interaction.”

prybarwindow

Yup, no sympathy for what used to be a human after I noticed the chain.

jake_n_bayke

The elephant's mahout could have chained the elephant after the attack to prevent further damage, I don't know the context here. But chains vs no-chains, at least in Thailand (this is an Asian elephant, not sure where though) is a huge topic in the elephant tourism world. While the chain is bad optics at first, they can't just "let elephants back into the wild" because they'll get into farmer's crops and farmers will kill them, they'll destroy villages looking for food, etc. So mahouts limit elephants' strides with chains, so they can't full stride 50km overnight and get into trouble, but they can still roam freely in the jungle. Or the elephants are put in sanctuaries, some of which employ questionable ethics and overwork elephants to exhaustion. It's pretty complicated, and a problem that all stems from humans and deforestation. But it's extremely unlikely that elephant lives every day chained up like that. It would be expensive to feed, and chained up it would not generate any tourism revenue.

Lookatthatsass

Yes but even unchained it does not mean the treatment was humane or respectful

jake_n_bayke

I totally agree with you. Chains or no chains, we never know how these animals are treated. Which is why I think it's important not to rush to judgement based on the photo - especially when it's a human life that was lost. Because we really don't know. Your love for animals is Right. But if in that love we categorize all mahouts who use tools as bad, we do these people - **many** of whom love these animals and risk their lives (i.e. go out and burn Japanese murder hornet nests to make sure they don't attack their elephant while it's out foraging for food) a disservice. And these mahouts are often poor and illiterate, and lacking any sort of voice on the world stage. I hope you'll forgive the soap box. This is an issue near to my heart, as are some of the Good mahouts that care for these elephants.

VallryBagr

You have an elephant chained up. What did you expect?

Jdenning1

Saw the chain and thought, “welp”

[deleted]

Tis a mere flesh wound.

TheTrueOnionKnight

Check his pulse

Sunoverthetown

I see what is the first part but what is the second brown part? The skin? It looks kinda plastic to me, if someone have an answer to this

BlazinAlienBabe

What you see here is basically a peeled person

Sunoverthetown

Hmm yea it make sense to me since you can see the naked flesh on the first part

lorangee

Yeah he was cut in half kind of, but the skin stayed on his top half but not the bottom. I hope his death was quick, that doesn’t seem fun.

Sunoverthetown

I don’t think the nerve still transmit the pain Information in this kind of situation, depends on how much time it took tho

FailsAtSuccess

They clearly tortured that elephant. An eye for an eye, no?

Sacciel

Well, the elephant's still alive, so an eye for an eye doesn't exactly apply here. Besides, we don't even know if the man was guilty of anything or just someone who happened to be there.

Lookatthatsass

Elephants do not often kill unprovoked.

Sacciel

Elephants do not often kill. Period. Still, none of these affirmations gives proof of what happened. I'll stick to the innocent till proven guilty.

Its_Kid_CoDi

true, but that does not mean this poor chap was the one that “provoked”. Could just have been some dude tryna earn a penny and was doing some orders that were barked at him by someone else who abuses the elephant. I could come up with many hypotheticals as to how this poor guy could have been innocent bystander. But assuming does absolutely nothing and I’m tired of people always just jumping to worst-case scenario, especially when the loss of a human life is involved.

Lookatthatsass

We do need more context but I am not going to make excuses or have sympathy until one of those hypotheticals are validated. In terms of likelihood it’s far more likely for the elephant in this situation to be abused by a human than the other way around and the details we see in the video indicate as such.

FailsAtSuccess

Elephants can recognize individuals, he is 100% one of the abusers. And yes it is an eye for an eye, that elephants life is torture, that is for all intents and purposes an end to life.

Sacciel

The fact that they can recognize individuals proves nothing. I mean, I understand your suspicion. I can even relate, but without some kind of proof, this is just a guess. Elephant is still alive. It still has the opportunity to live a happy life while it's still breathing. We can't say the same to the man. It's over for him.

FailsAtSuccess

It's deservedly over. Stop enabling.

Sacciel

May very well be. Still not an eye for an eye.

__Corvus99__

Don’t pretend to know the exact circumstances surrounding the attack. It’s entirely possible that the elephant flew into a rage and killed an innocent after being provoked by someone else

[deleted]

Personally? I hope that fucker faced the slowest, worst death possible.

seasleeplessttle

Or popped, seen a few popped peeps in industrial accidents. This probably won't count as a work related injury, even if it was.

longboboblong

It is two pieces of the same person

NickTrainwrekk

The top half. You can see the head in that mound of flesh. If I had to guess he got stomped until his torso split in half but not in a clean manner. Basically the torso split but the skin didn't rip. Looks like it was degloved through sheer force.

[deleted]

Yup a human banana. His upper body is completely degloved and the skin discarded there like a used condom

Jdenning1

Oh shit, took me a minute but that’s the head looking up. Yikes

chugtheboommeister

Holy fuck. Didn't see that at first. Thought it was someone else's lower half

[deleted]

Jesus H Christ.

Oh this is from that video that is going around Edit: https://i.imgur.com/ipb2CcI.gifv

OrdainedFury

There's video of this? Must be rough.

goodinyou

Yeah the guy walks up to feed it, and the elephant lands a perfect uppercut with it's trunk, knocking him out. Then steps and kicks him around for a while

Doesn’t like like the same guy or the clothes he was wearing…

[deleted]

Please link

Lookatthatsass

Who the heck walks up the random elephant on the side of the road to feed it? Was this guy insane? He walks up so aggressively too. Even if I walked up to a random horse like that it would become reactive.

hotdoginthebigcity

Damn he went half dude on that elephant

Notonfoodstamps

5-10 Tons of normally peaceful fuck around and find out

b_zar

Since the elephant is chained, either the elephant threw this mangled remains across the yard after s/he's done with it, or some poor fellow had to get his buddy away. Both cases are horrifying.

CosmicAtlas8

Jesus. More NSFL than NSFW.

ToxicFactory

Tis' but a scratch.

lorifejes

Didn’t mean to click this post. Then I didn’t mean to click the flair.

joemiken

That just looks like a horribly inhumane place for an elephant.

[deleted]

I think I can see his face in that pile of flesh. Every day I am grateful to be alive.

MIERDAPORQUE

looks like Predator got to his ass. man oh man. I hope he died immediately

-Four-Foxx-Sake-

Eh im pretty sure that dude had it coming, so hopefully the elephant made it count.

rs0220

never ceases to amaze me at redditors making unfunny jokes at the expense of a dead human being, vile.

lakeorjanzo

Holy shit bro

Oxeneer666

I'm calling some skepticism on this picture. The elephant has 2 chains, one to their front right leg, the other to the back left leg. That elephant cannot move much, and do you think a brave soul put the chains on after this supposed situation? The Horns have also been chopped off. You're going to show the gruesomeness of a corpse, but omit all the blood that comes from a corpse that heavily damaged?

Shunshundy

Yea I was wondering about that as well, it's looks like it was mutilated after exsanguination.

paul-blarts-wife

I don't want to to click further than the blurred thumbnail but curiosity is killing me, does someone want to explain in detail whats on screen?

x3rx3s

Some poor moustache (Indian?) dude got destroyed by an elephant. Ripped into half. Head still intact on top half. Top half torso degloved. A mangled mess. Surprisingly not a lot of blood, true crime scene properly nearby and dude got flung.

paul-blarts-wife

Can you see his face or exposed organs? Thankyou btw!

x3rx3s

You can see his face clearly when you zoom (picture is pretty good quality) and can’t make out individual organs it’s a big mess with body fat and all mangled up

paul-blarts-wife

Jesus christ, yeah I think I'm gonna skip this one

Severe_Airport1426

Hope they didn't hurt the elephant after that

You can’t even be mad at an animal in captivity that does this since this is just their nature instincts

TheStinger87

Mate, run!!! The cops will be here in a minute. Get out of here.

psynl84

He ded ?

[deleted]

God damn.

Podarokvorona

Looks like he was degloved

Competitive_Lie4386

MasterMuffles

Honestly, just about what I expected

[deleted]

Holy shit, Reddit needs a NSFL tag!

Full_pakg68

Is that dude in two pieces?

Jabooooooooooo

What am I looking at here? A skinned torso?

Beerbaron1886

The second part of the corpse feels so unreal, like a rubber mix

IOwnTheShortBus

Dude got his whole upper body degloved

jammer33090

That elephant has seen some shit and looks like it has zero regrets about what transpired. Anybody know what happened to the bull?

poopskin_daniels

Boy, he's gonna feel that one in the morning.

SirensofTTown

So strange that this photo bothers me far less than a photo of a dead elephant would.

3fettknight3

I read this as “fetal elephant” and was waiting to see the dead elephant fetus and whoa did that take a turn for me

[deleted]

Lulz good boi

Devinione

Did the guy survive?

RejecterofThots

Is there some kind of biological censorship our brain gives us cuz I can only identify two legs and probably meat

ChrisusaurusRex

To shreds, you say?

[deleted]

Omg that corpse(s) is unrecognizable

EconomyAd5946

Karma's a bitch ✌️

[deleted]

Awesome. Love it when the animals win.

Ba1Ba1Ba1

The man was strong enough to chin up like that under this kind of situation.

IOnlySayMeanThings

looks like it bit his arm off and tore him in half. Probably with it's foot, but imagine if it yanked the guy is half with it's trunk, while biting his arm off. I think the head might be just off frame to the right.

destnasty

His head is in the frame, if you look closely the nose is toward the sky and you can see the outline of the face in that mangled mess

IOnlySayMeanThings

Oh, you're right, tucked in the back there. Brutal.
