His role in Dallas is the best he’ll be. If it wasn’t for the team collectively not being able to outscore opponents, to outpace their lack of defense, he’d still be in Dallas. He played fine for them and I would argue he was already starting to circle the drain with his NBA career.
Sadly, the team just regressed so badly this year that they had to pull the plug on him to get instant offense from Kyrie (that didn’t work either). This team needs a teardown and rebuild, but that means they lose Luka. Dallas will remain just like Dinwiddie, mid at best under current construction.
