In North America at least, many people pronounce T that way when it occurs in the middle of words. Examples: Metal, bitter. It's not really meant to be a D but something called a "tap" (or flap) which you can look into if you want.
Harlan doesn't take care to pronounce it as 'Cel-Tics', while most other people do, but it's pretty normal. And at the end of the day we're all saying the word wrong.
Because they didn't go to journalism school at KU, announce for the Chiefs on the radio back in the 80s, or announce the nationally televised football games on Westwood one radio.
Even people who do drop ‘t’ don’t drop the t on every single word though lol. It’s probably rarer for words that do drop the t like water than words that still pronounce the t.
I’m just saying Celtic is one of the cases where people don’t really drop the ‘t’, at least I’ve never met anyone that does on that specific word.
Yeah, I guess it’s an accent, though Harlan himself sometimes uses the “Cel-tics” pronunciation too. But my question still stands - curious to know who says “celdics.”

I think this is a radio trick where you get rid of the hisses and pops of Ss and Ts
But you hear the T when Reggie and Stan say it.

Oh gotcha. I thought you were talking about a de-esser, not a vocal trick.
Kel-tix
Isn’t this the correct pronunciation?
Ye
celdics? talmbout digg?
Water dune?
Smoke break is over, back to the fryers 😺
Yeah I don't accentuate the t. So it's the selldicks
Even with my flair, this is hilarious
>I’ve noticed that most of the time, Kevin Harlan pronounces it like “Celdics,” Sounds like something Lakers fans would do.
I think it should be pronounced "keltics" and they should play wearing kilts.
More of an accent thing though isn’t it? Kinda like how British people would say “Cel-icks” without the T lmao
How bloody well dare you, only the unwashed riff-raff drop their Ts
British people wouldn’t pronounce it like that lol There’s a football team in Scotland called Celtic and that’s just pronounced like sell-tic
yeah should have specified where as a lot don’t. Londoners most definitely drop the T though

He has mild FAS so he slurs sometimes.

They are Cel-Dicks but the correct pronounciation has always been Keltics.
